Katie: BLARGHH THERE’S, LIKE, NEEDLES IN MY THROAT!!
*Abbey and David look on, horrified.*
David: How’d you know?

*Chirpy sleeps in Lucy’s arms.*
Lucy: She’ll be okay.. Just exhausted, I think. She got pretty overwhelmed for a minute there..

Lucy: You really should have found someone else to vent that out on.
*Mike leans on the balcony, looking upset.*
Mike: Yeah, I know..

*Mike looks back at Lucy, serious.*
Mike: Shouldn’t underestimate little birds like her, huh?
Lucy: She’s a fast learner, y’know.

*Lucy cradles Chirpy and looks at Mike.*
Lucy: For as long as I’ve had her, Chirpy has wondered about her real mother..

*Lucy looks pensive.*
Lucy: It’s a little surprising given how young she was when I met her.. She’s always been aware we’re not her real family.

*She looks down and frowns.*
Lucy: I suppose her real mom would have kept an eye on her in this kind of situation..

*Mike looks at Lucy, worried.*

*Lucy looks down in shame.*
Lucy: Some caretaker I turned out to be.

*Mike gives Lucy a caring glance.*
Mike: You’re caring for her right now.
Lucy: (sniff) I’m not her MOTHER, Mike..

*He puts a hand on her shoulder.*
Mike: Maybe not, but she has you.. She has Yashy and Lily and Blur..

*Mike smiles.*
Mike: She has me.. And I think we’ve done a pretty good job taking care of her. Most of the time.
*Lucy tears up.*

Mike: You can long for someone else but still find comfort in the people in your life who love you. Things aren’t so black and white..
*Lucy listens thoughtfully.*

*Mike and Lucy both blush. Mike sweats.*
Mike and Lucy: …

*Mike grins sheepishly and scratches his head.*
Mike: MAN I should take my own advice! I’ve done nothing but sulk tonight!

*Lucy smirks.*
Lucy: Guess I can always count on you to bitch so much you send kids crying.
Mike: HEY!!

*Mike smiles awkwardly.*
Mike: Alright, I get it. We should get back inside before people start worrying..
*Lucy smiles back.*

*Mike walks away, his scarf trailing behind him. Lucy looks after him with warmth in her eyes.*

*Chirpy looks up, groggily.*
Chirpy: .. Ahh.. Girl-Kitty..? What..
*Lucy looks relieved.*
