@Sarge or anyone else who doesn’t get Mike’s fear, Lucy is very frightened of H2O; Mike sees the water and fears that if Lucy sees the water while crossing the narrow bridge, she will “put herself to sleep” and plummet to the current below. He fears for her safety ad he also feels bad because he blames himself for her absolute fear of water.

I find that precarious bridge unlikely… but it looks cool.

How does this match up with what he’s saying right now? Apparently he was only ever nice to Lucy because he thought everyone would hate him if he wasn’t, but now he shows genuine concern for her and he has no reason to.
