You all knew it was coming.
Here’s the thing. Lucy fans can say that she has issues and has reasons all they like. But none of that means anything if she doesn’t try to resolve those issues. Everyone acknowledges how broken and fragile her psyche is, but whenever she acts violent I keep seeing comments that are basically, “Good old Lucy!” This is NOT something to celebrate, this is a sign of her fragile psyche that you keep talking about.
Abbey has issues too, but he’s going to therapy and is making an active attempt to get better. Lucy is pushing everyone away and when faced with the idea that her best friend isn’t willing to put up with her crap isn’t thinking “Maybe if the one person who’s stuck by me all this time is sick of all this, then maybe I need to change.” Instead she tries to force her company on him, continues her violence. Maybe Mike’s tirade is the wake up call she needs, and she’ll start to get better, but being happy when she’s violent and then immediately excusing her with “Oh she can’t help it, she’s hurt inside” is disrespectful to her character.

I think Floweramon about summed up all of my feelings towards this page and the way people are reacting to it. It’s just a tad sickening seeing how many people defend Lucy by pointing out her insecurities, but when she acts on them, it’s suddenly time to praise her for it. I mean, come on guys… really? REALLY? It’s as though this girl is completely blameless or something; it always has to be somebody else’s fault.
I don’t know, it’s just getting old seeing people break their backs in an effort to find fault in everybody else, especially when it involves a situation Lucy got herself into.
