Rachel and Jessica hate Tess? Gasp! Did not see that one coming. Either way, for the love of god! Can’t they get over it already? I mean, if Vietnam can forgive the United States for what they did there, can’t they just forget about it. Also, Tessa, the only thing that makes Rachel unhappy, so it would seem. There’s so much hate here, Al Qaeda is expecting a rivalry!
Also, did Daisy not see that coming? I mean, you can kind of tell that she was worried by the small amount of sweat but I wouldn’t have even bothered asking. Secondly, weren’t Jessica and Rachel considering sitting there beforehand? Surely they noticed Tessa. Did they just reject because they were asked as not to seem desperate, as opposed to sitting there by themselves and seeming forgiving?

Daisy is fluffy and adorable. Jess is really kinda tall. I know Rachel and Daisy are on the short side for the group, but still, Jess just kind of looms here. And I think Rachel tries to make herself look taller, normally. She looks considerably shorter in panels 3 and 8 (about 1/4 head, give or take, and knowing her it’s both).

Pardon me, but who’s the person in panel 7? Early comments seem to suggest it’s Tess? If so, then the reaction Rach and Jess give seems resonable (especially if this is before the “Pillow Talk” segment).
Also, in the previous page, I didn’t see Tess sitting with the gang, but on panel 7, is the smiling person Abbey? Has the hairstyle, but the smile and eyes are reminiscent of David.
I like how Rach and Jess come off as very friendly towards Daisy, but turn cold in an instant when they see the person in panel 7 (Tess?).
Can’t wait to see where this goes! (Hopefully, Lucy punches someone in the process or shoots them down with sarcasam. Love and hate her for that!)

Jess and Rachel are the best. I hope we see more of them in the story and not just in some flash backs.

I really like how Daisy looks with more weight, personally. I mean, it is a high school drama. Not everyone at schools is going to be overly thin.

The weight gain, I do believe, was not a recent thing for Daisy, but rather Taeshi is delving further into her character as she had always intended Daisy to be this way.

My only issue is that her chest looks a little odd. It works fine with the watercolours, as seen two pages back, but panel 3 and 5 just look a bit weird to me. Though it could be because I’m used to all the female characters having a visibly large chest and skinnier body.

I’m sure I’ll get used to it. xD Either way, great work ^^

It just occured to me that we never saw how Rachel and Jess were introduced to the rest of Daisy’s friends, considering that they know some of them by recent chapters (they’re names at least)

I am actually glad Taeshi has Daisy a little on the chubby side. I am kind of sick of women more often than not being unreasonably skinny in almost all forms of entertainment these days. Like those citcom shows where the husband is large, but the woman is super skinny. Do we ever see the reverse? no.

Well, I started recently to read BCB after I heard some good things about it.
And it was the right thing, but there were always some plotholes. Maybe some of them get fixed.
Though I’m a bit annoyed that this means the story won’t move on for awhile.

Someone’s going to be commenting on Daisy’s weight every page she shows up not because they really care so much, but because now it’s a guaranteed reaction. We’ve got trolls now.

Also, this comic is terrible at consistency - or rather prefers to change with the artist - depending on whether you want to look at it positively or negatively. Might as well get over that now and realize nothing will ever be the same in this comic. I’m still getting over the “original comics were never slapstick” consistency change thing myself though…

I’m having second thoughts on the latest character design but I’m in a “I partially like it, but I partially don’t like it.” It think the art style is throwing me off a little, thats just my opinion. With time, I’ll be fully content.

Oh yeah, amazing what a weekend makes you forget! I’m guessing this is before chapter 59 with pillow talk, cuz it’s obvious that there is still animalosity (get it!!?!!)

Is it strange that I am incredibly excited to see these characters and their thoughts more? I was afraid that after pillow talk and moving on that we wouldn’t see much more of Rachel or Tess (because Jessica is in the play) but I am stupid happy that they have their own chapter. fukkin saged.

This may come as a shock, but if you want to make your OWN characters your way, kindly **** off of this artists webcomic site and go forth and do it yourself. I’m pretty sure she’s not here to please you.

@Curtisimo Wasn’t meaning to show off. It’s just copy/paste. Taeshi is kind enough to have the only difference between the urls be the actual chapter number, so it’s just a matter of changing two digits at most. No skill on my end.

I kinda like Dasiy with her “larger” size. If you looked her breed up you’d see that shes not fat, just a fluffy breed of cat. :03

I actually don’t blame Jessica and Rachel for not wanting to sit with Tess or for not forgiving her. In their situation, I wouldn’t forgive her either.
What I do blame them for is directly harassing Tess. Hating her and ignoring her is one thing, seeking her out to insult her and beat up on her is another, inexcusable thing.

My long way of saying I think it’s fine that they said ‘no’ here with such hateful gazes. The rest of how they act, not so okay.

Jarring how blatantly they suddenly can’t be near someone they spent a whole chapter with. Rachel even claimed to be warming up to her. And now she can’t even be sitting near her when she says she needs a seat? Adorable immaturity by a pair of cute girls who hate a plainly regretful cute girl whose past misdeeds hurt her on a deep level. How common it is when forgiveness and respect would be easy, but never seem to be. The ball will roll for us to see~

For anyone criticizing Daisy’s weight, Taeshi said herself that Daisy, being a ragamuffin, will naturally have tendency to be a little large rather than shapely. I believe this is the relevant link:

I think Taeshi’s going to keep drawing Daisy in this “fat” style just because there are so many complainers. And maybe because there’s a need for a fat character among the main cast. (This would certainly explain why Daisy has low self-esteem problems, lolol.) Anyway, I will reiterate: It’s not really a matter of why she’s fat… It’s more of why Taeshi suddenly changed her art style to make Daisy look like she’s fat

To everyone who is reading too much into how daisy looks:

SHE. IS. A. FREAKIN. CAT.

If you’ve ever seen a cat you’d know that they don’t all have perfect forms. And sure, they’re supposed to look human. But stop freakin trying to read in to it. Oh so now Daisy has to look perfect for her to be a good character?! Geez.

I think Tae’s keeping her “fat” because that’s how she wants the character. She’s said so many times that that was how she intended the character. As an artist, I understand that. You have a specific image of a character, but it doesn’t come through in the art until later. Don’t be so butthurt about it guys. It’s not your character. And I really appreciate that she doesn’t have a perfect body image and a more typical one instead.

I don’t really care about Daisy’s new *ahem* “figure,” but I am curious as to WHY the sudden change in the way she is drawn. I hope it is part of the story.

Besides the cheerleader part, I think I’m quite like Daisy! I mean…I’m not so skinny you can see my ribs, but who wants to be? I have an amazing boyfriend who makes me feel special, good grades, and fair curls like hers naturally. Nevermind the fact that I love being an Optimist Prime and making people smile! This is….well, yeah. She continually makes the same mistakes over and over in such a way that says to me that it’s not her main goal. I think the art progression we see is more of a byproduct of drawing a lot, as opposed to actual effort to learn. At least we’re probably getting past the “4 tubes stuck on a torso with no ankles, wrists, elbows, or other joints to speak of” stage, but there’s still a huge issue with heads changing shape dramatically from panel to panel….

Not to be a rude critic but occasionally I am unsure of where your comic’s direction read is. In this it’s:

but personally this page is a little odd for me because if it was the direction we were used to, Daisy looks as if she noticed Rachel and Jess and has a crush on them and then she’s randomly over there talking to them rather than your intended purpose of them being far out and unsure and then Daisy noticing them and attempting to invite them over.

Otherwise, I love how this chapter is headed so far ^^
