She does have a point. If she hadn’t been there to help Mike after Sandy left, I can only imagine that it would have been much harder. It’s kind of funny how sad he looks though. Though I guess that makes me a bad person.
In Lucy’s defense, this shows that she’s not all bad. I mean, if I were in her position, I would have laughed so hard. I love it when people get all emotionally depressed over things that don’t matter; which I guess just reinforces the fact that I’m a bad person.
Either way, denial is never good. Mostly for two reasons, because you’re pretending like something isn’t true and because everyone else can tell.
In summary, “She’s so angry and flat-chested!” -Stan Smith

been there..
I guess this is one of the reasons I love this comic so much, nobody is perfect.
every character has their bad and good sides, just like a real person.
Makes me feel more identified with them, specially Lucy.
But now I wonder.. what is the bad side of Sandy? I don’t mean about her life, I mean about her personality.
Dunno just had to say it.

If anyone still hates either Mike or Lucy then maybe this page will chapter will change your mind. For Mike having someone you care about leave you is hard, having a friend there to help you through it makes it easier. For Lucy seeing the one put her through so much pain and suffering and then having the heart to be there when he needs someone. this reminds of real life way too much ;-;.

I don’t know why, but I feel like these feelings can easily describe BOTH Lucy and Mike. Well, maybe more Lucy than Mike, but still :/ .

Other than that, I completely sympathasize with Lucy more than Mike, based on similar childhood experiences………….. it makes sense why she’s a kicker and takes some of her frustration out on people, actually. Although, I don’t encourage her attitude, it is part of the reason why she and Mike were drifting away from each other.

@Jhig: No, she did that before this. Though I imagine it got even worse after.

Also, Lucy, I know this whole flashback is you in denial and we are not in the current story, but in the current story you seem to have pretty much given up on everything at the tender age of 16 (that’s what age they are right now, right?). Considering most people live to 80, that’s not even half your life. Pot and kettle much?

Though they had rough times, I think Mike and Lucy had a few good moments in the past. For example, the time when those 2, Paulo, Daisy, and Sue got lost in that one town.

I can’t remember the chapter, but at one point, there was a bully who was trying to mug them of their money, and Mike was drunk after winning some bet? He was trying to fight for his friends, but was too unbalanced to really do anything, and was down for the count? Lucy tried to help him after that, was winning, but then SHE got pinned down? Mike recuperated and returned the favor, and eventually the both of them just pounded the snot out of that bully until he crawled away in shame? I don’t know, that’s the only thing that could stand out from me.

Haha! Look at that folks, Lucy was there for Mike (who looks like a sad wreck) when Sandy left! I love this perspective from Lucy, it’s really quite the treat. From her view, she looks like the only normal person and everyone else is the weirdo, but then again who doesn’t see themselves as the only normal person when looking through their own lens (that’s right, we’re the weirdo in everyone else’s eyes and they’re the weirdo in our eyes…right?)
I still want to know why she’s irritated with Mike and why she’s just silent about it. Is she just waiting for Mike to ask her out or something? Holding out hope he does, but thinking he won’t? What a mess, but hey, it wouldn’t be interesting if it wasn’t.
You know, the more you think about it, those two are kind of cut out for each other. They’re so strange, emotional at times, and like to hide their emotions till they explode. Fortunately, Sue is there to keep things in check from time to time.

If you think about it, Lucy and Mike BOTH needed each other at one point in time and when they needed it other, they never out did it. Mike needed her for company and a shoulder to cry on, Lucy vice versa. However, because with Lucy it was so recent, Mike feels like he did such a HUGE job, that she was inconsiderate. I have been saying this over and over again, but I am loving this chapter. It gets me in touch with Lucy and how she felt about the few events.

Ugh this chapter makes me want to smack Lucy over and over. I HATE those faces. Self-entitled “why don’t *I* get the attention” faces. It’s just like a Nice Guy (tm), with the “but I’m nice so *I deserve things*!!” That’s the vibe Lucy gives me.

Shut up woman, you didn’t do jack to let him know you cared and so you deserved what you got. I don’t understand “I like you so much that I’M GONNA BOIL WITH ANGER ALL THE TIME” characters. I understand hating that you love someone, but I don’t understand hating the person you love, y’know? Especially not to the point that you’re shaking and everything.

UGH. Let’s get this chapter over with so I can pretend Lucy wasn’t like this. With the amount of retconning that goes on I feel justified in glossing over whatever I want.

Stereotypes continue to exist not because they hold truth in them, but with people who would believe them to be proper for continual use in trying to understand others even after it is shown to have it’s faults. Each person may be somewhat similar, but to consider them alike in a generalized standard is presuming too much. Treat people like mindless paper cutouts, and you do them an injustice including a disfavor to yourself.

Maybe you guys don’t get Lucy and why she acts the way she acts is because you didn’t go through what she did?I haven’t either but Lucy was young when her only “friend” forgot about her and that probably made her think that no one liked her.She also liked Mike and he kinda ditched her for Sandy but he probably didn’t know that Lucy was pretty much alone without him.She kept that in mind and her sadness grew into hate which turned into a force that turns everyone away.Lucy uses that to make her feel better in her own way ,or in my opinion.

Everyone keeps talking about how they’re just kids and it’s exactly for that reason that they take these “puppy-love” relationships seriously…they’re kids, what do you expect? Adults know how to let go, work-around, work with, and deal with these things, kids don’t and emotional teenagers are not any better; they have a tendency to become mystified, build quick and hazardous solutions to resolve those mysteries, and like to blow things out of proportion (just like when Sandy left Mike).
Also, I like how we get to see things through Lucy’s eyes. She’s so damn silent about things, but you know there’s a lot going on in her head and personally, it drives me crazy not to know what it is. This gives a chance, I think, to touch base with her more than previously.
Simple people are fine and they come and go, but the complex one’s are a treat, because there’s no one way answer to them and they add color; if only Lucy would stop locking it down.

Comment ID #232687

@SpecOpPotato I think Lucy not knowing how to express her feelings may be part of it. I mean, remember how she had a crush on Paulo before he became such a manwhore? She didn’t know how to express her feelings back then.

Another part, I think, is that Lucy wants things back the way they were before, and I mean, WAAAAY back before Mike even SAW Sandy, and that was when she was just following him around. Maybe she wasn’t so violent back then, maybe she didn’t even know what love even FELT like back then, I don’t know. I think what’s going on in Lucy’s way of thinking is that if she kept treating Mike the way she did before, maybe things wouldn’t change. She’s basically stuck in the past, without any knowledge that change is always occurring, and there is no way she could stop it, even if she wanted to. But either way, Lucy’d probably still screw herself over, one way or another.

Lucy is becoming more and more complicated. Though it kinda is unfair. Sandy was gone to have her perfect little life set up by her parents, and Lucy was there to attend to poor hurt Mikey. And suddenly Sandy is back and right on the spot snatches Mike. Granted, Lucy wasn’t all milk and honey all these years, he did get beating or two, but lets think about it: would seriously abused person be able to smile in the pressence of person who does the abuse? In the end they formed a bond, hell Mike was even thinking about something more serious with Lucy.

@Curtisimo
It’s funny. Everytime someone tells something in general, there are always few fems that will do everything to convince everyone that not every woman is like that. Seriously, I’m almost 100% sure that if you would post on huge forum that every woman posseses a ******, you would still get few who would be arguing with that fact.

@bankai
Yeah, seriously. I’m mad as well. If not for her Mike could end up being drug addict, of even better: hanged himself. Seriously Lucy, you ****ed this one up. No more support for you.

If Mike was in this daydream of Lucy’s right now, maybe if he thanked Lucy for still being there for him even after she was completely dissed things would be a bit better. Or even to apologise for dissing her during that time wouldn’t hurt.
So what Mike was/is unaware of the fact that you feel he was ungrateful during this time, give him the load down like he did to you in december, then he’d understand - maybe/hopefully.
Or if he really couldn’t do that, Mike, Lucy and Paulo and Sue should have a sit down and work this stuff out with Paulo and Sue as neutral mediators

and I just realised this is a flashback that happened in the past sooooo this is all pretty much, aw this could have happened…. :nope:

So it appears that from the very beginning lucy is just a mad, angry, bitter little girl who’s world revolves around herself. I mean, it’s like she chose mike to be her friend, figured out who he was, created an imaginary opposite personallity that mike should be and became bitter that he’s not changed into that character that she refuses to tell mike to become. She’s just an evil “B” who needs to be forcefully emotionally tramitized for the rest of her life and abandoned by all. Sorry I’ve known bad people in my life. lol :)

Jack November 12, 2012, 10:33 AM EST.

Comment ID #232706

And it’s not like I didn’t go through something like Lucy. When my single friend did a similar thing, it just made me sad and depressed. I didn’t hate them for it, and I eventually moved on and made other frieds.

I’m still trying to figure out how she was angry and bitter in preschool, before she even had someone taking barbies out of her hands. It seems a pretty unlikely setup overall. I was a tomboy and played with the boys just fine - at that age gender differences are hardly even recognized. How about waiting until 3rd grade before the mention of cooties holds any water (and only with the dumbest people). And the girls were fine with “rough” dollhouse stuff all the time - I remember playing with dolls getting run over or mummified and other violent things. I dunno, I feel Lucy’s parents ****ed up serverely if at age 4 she started being angry and hateful to this degree. She hasn’t even had enough experience with other people to be like this. A few incidents in preschool does not make a child turn into what Lucy is. It takes at least a couple years to figure out people really don’t like you much, and in this society and the way the “fitting in” thing works in kids psyches, by that time the kid has become a “try hard” where they try so hard to fit in, they stick out. You don’t get to the anger stage until after at least an initial try hard phase. Lucy just skipped everything and arrived at preschool with angry eyebrows.

OK lucy. Whatever lucy.

Macca November 12, 2012, 10:57 AM EST.

Comment ID #232707

I really want to see Lucy’s opinion of:
1)Mike kissing her, and her rejection of Mike’s affection in 6th grade.
2)Lucy telling Mike to go call Sandy, because any affection toward her was fake in 9th Grade.
(Granted, in the earlier plot, Mike did day dream of Sandy and even skipped town to get a sight of her… not to say Lucy’s actuation weren’t true. A lot of drama might not have happened if Mike, instead of not going to the 8th grade dance with all the girls that asked him, but asked Lucy… then Lucy wouldn’t have told him to call Sandy… then we wouldn’t have a story right now…. so nvm ) Yeah Speculation!

Vanvoltra November 12, 2012, 11:07 AM EST.

Comment ID #232708

I, for one, sympathize with Lucy here. I don’t think she’s being self-centered or anything. Basically, her entire life has been full of nothing but affection for Mike (as in “nothing-but-affection for Mike”, not “full of nothing except”), and he’s been too oblivious to know or care for most of it. She’s always been there for him, even after the whole Sandy thing. I don’t see these comics as complaining; I see it as a (I hate that there is no better word for it) bittersweet lament of her feelings for Mike; he means everything to her, but that’s what hurts her the most. And, unfortunately, Lucy doesn’t have a coping mechanism to deal with the pain, so she just dishes it right back at him, only making things worse.
In the end, it’s just an internal dialogue meant to show her pain and how her brain works (in a really realistic manner, I might add), so it doesn’t mean much to the actual plotline; it just thickens it.

I honest do feel sympathy for Lucy (even if I don’t always show it), because I’ve been in that dark, the-world-is-against-me-screw-everyone place. Though admittedly, like someone said, I have a hard time understanding why she was like this in kindergarten. It took me about half of elementary school to start putting up my emotional barriers. I’d honestly like to have seen Lucy’s family life prior to kindergarten, maybe that would explain her behavior?

Floweramon November 12, 2012, 12:53 PM EST.

Comment ID #232713

Actually, it can happen pretty early based on how you naturally are and how you were raised.
I’ve never realized that trust was an underlying issue for me until recently, regarding some things that my mom has said and done.
So when I was in pre k and elementary including middle school, when somebody lied to me, I just shrugged it off. Even if it was a huge one that most people would have cried over, I always doubted people on the inside. I never actually trusted anyone(besides one person currently), but I’m getting over it. It’s not much of a big deal like Lucy’s.

So yeah, maybe it’s Lucy’s nature or it was the way her parents did some things, even if it was subtle, and that reacted negatively with her personal reasoning and instinct. No parenting ever comes clean of errors.

I have seen something I never thought I would see! This page alone explains why Lucy is way she is! Our only friend leaves you for the “better” person, AREN’T FRIENDS SUPPOSE TO BE FRIENDS! I see why she trusts no one period, the one she did trust stabbed her in the back to be with someone who was better? And she helps pick him up! Only to 6 years years when she needs to be picked up to kick her when she is down and have the knife in her back be twisted, AND be that oblivious to it! Lucy is not use to showing any emotion other than anger. And Mike being “Captain Oblivious” doesn’t see that she hasn’t changed but that she the protective wall she has kept up is not only weakened but is crumpling to nothing . She is becoming that sweet and kind person to others than just her pets and the “New Lucy” aka Mike is FAILING TO SEE IT! Remember when Lucy and Tess learned about Paulo, and Jess and Rach said Mike was next, What did Lucy do? That wasn’t to long ago was it? Mike can hold on 5-6 years but forget what even happened 2 months ago? At this point I am not really MikexLucy anymore, I am for LucyxWhoever makes her HAPPY(but if that ends up being Mike than…I am cool with that) . Mike I really hope that Sandy dumps him, not so he dies alone and sad but so he sees and feels what its like, AND I REALLY hope Lucy doesn’t pick up the pieces! BUT I feel that if Sandy did dump him, Lucy would be there for him. Why? If you don’t know why? Reread the comic with having seen this page.

Those saying she says this to lie to herself to make her look like its in her favor! She probably is lying so she can get over Mike. OR maybe this is how really feels about it! Possibly both. I don’t believe Mike is fruity or a moron, but selfish and pathetic? Give that girl a prize we have a winner. We may all be a little selfish, but some more than others. He is pathetic he thinks his life is over because Sandy leaves and because he destroys someone who doesn’t worship him like he is a GOD! Ever notice that?

Basically Mike said” I can’t be friends with you because you love me! You “hated” me when I loved you! So F YOU! He even said “Maybe it’ll be fixed if she just died.”(Chapter 71, Page 19). He isn’t even mad! Maybe it would be good for him if she took her life! This gives me hope that there is justice, the very next panel Sandy ” NO! BAD!” The previous page is ever better! Sandy Haters READ Chapter 71 page 18! I may be MikexLucy but that makes be feel better about MikexSandy!

We now seeing their childhood from the other half. I truly believe that she knew deep down that she had lost to Sandy and knew she had no chance. But why she told him anyway, probably was what you would call going down fighting or maybe she still made a chance or simply believed he deserved to know the truth. Either way you see devastation.

oh sorry for the half a page.

Wow Lucy really needs to learn that Mike is the good guy in this situation. I mean it’s not like was the one who had to shelter Mike or take verbal and physical abuse. Lucy really is the jerk no matter what anyone thinks. Mad Lucy

The hell have you been? It’s always been like this…
We’re now entering the third generation of this pointless debate/argument/war. Like clockwork, one side voices their opinion while the other side retaliates on the next page, again and again. One after the other. Sure, the people who fight change, but they still say the same thing. It would be fascinating if it wasn’t so annoying.
And let’s not forget the 3rd faction…..
I swear, you could make a tv show out of this.

If Lucy wants Mike to be kind to her, maybe she should be nice to him? Also, I doubt he ignored her entirely- I mean, it probably felt like that to her but the jealousy probably blinded her a bit. I’m not saying Mike’s the nicest, most misunderstood person in the world, but you can’t expect someone to put up with you, and especially be super kind and love you if you’re gonna treat them like crap :/

“Stupid, selfish” That quote just makes me keep thinking. He quite selfish as I stated sooner(of course). He believe(present) that Lucy is selfish… Do selfish nearly drown themselves to save someone’s life? Are selfish people willing get raped to protect someone? Does selfish isolate themselves someone make to happy? If so, then Mike is right Lucy is selfish. Mike is quite selfish, all he cares about is getting something in return for all his time with Lucy. Actually she is selfish very selfish indeed, she so badly wants to make Mike happy.

She screwed up, she sees it after Summer vacation, and she has to live with the fact she lost Mike. But now(current comic page timeline) I hope she is starting to realize what Paulo sees and what Mike haters see.

OK PLEASE HEAR ME OUT ON THIS: This is an actual breakthrough:
“You’re a parasite” Chapter 68 page 30. Oh Mike it is quite funny you say that. Why? I think somebody *cough* Mike *cough* needs to look in the mirror. A parasite feeds on its host correct? Other works feeds on its host misery right? Mike is “Mr. Nice Guy”, “Captain Awesome”, “Paulo is jealous”, and “the ****”. Why because he takes care of wittle olde Lucy, how sweet of him :D. But does he help her? Why would he? If he keeps her miserable and takes care of her than he is you know the Mike we know and love right?. If he helps her become better for a month or two he will be the HERO, but after that he is just Mike. You see where I am going with this? He was right when he said “You’re a parasite” but he said it to the wrong person.
I thank you for reading the last paragraph.

Wow… Mike says Lucy clings onto him and needs him but after all they’re like best friends who should be there for each other all the time when they need each other. Lucy was kind enough to help him get back to his normal self after the girl of his “supposed dreams” left. Mike has a point that she needs to be nicer and not as clingy but truly best friends are always there for each other even when they shouldn’t be :x

‘Course that’s the bold and rash way to go about it.

The thing is, I can totally see Mike being completely broken like Lucy remembers him being. She may have overstated her own importance in putting him back together, but the fact still remains that she WAS one of those stabilizers that helped him when he fell shows that he needed her, and that he’s being a catdick by not at least acknowledging that.

Also the fact that literally everyone (including the girlfriend he’s so in love with!) is telling him that she’s being nice and that he’s wrong about her, and he’s still not listening makes it incredibly hard for me to sympathize with him. I’m convinced that if Taeshi made a comic wherein he got hit by a car and Lucy visited him more than Sandy did, he would still find a way to make Lucy the bad guy. He’s that far gone.

The whole description of this web comic should just be “Let’s make Lucy look to be the misunderstood special snowflake as much as we can, and Mike’s the devil”
I can understand being mean, and harsh as a social “defense” mechanism. But HITTING someone for a social defense mechanism. Sure there’s playful hitting, but Lucy doesn’t “playfully” hit him. She doesn’t say sorry if she “accidentally” goes to far. She doesn’t feel bad if she gives him a nosebleed or something like that.
I get that’s she’s the “misunderstood” harsh character. But she’s known Mike for like 12 years or something. Why did she need to keep up the defense with him so long? I dunno about you but if I known someone that long I wouldn’t feel the need to insult them or hit them ALL the time as a “defense.” After like 12 years I wouldn’t feel the need to have a “wall” there anymore.
Mike his whole life has had to deal with, his little sister, who treats him like crap, Paulo and David, who treat him like crap, and Lucy who guess what, treats him like crap.
And people need to stop saying stuff like “Old Mike was so much nicer” or “I miss the old Mike with the blue scarf” like there IS no OLD Mike or NEW Mike. He is just Mike. He’s still nice and MIKE, he just doesn’t wanna be around Lucy anymore. God forbid ANYONE is mean to Lucy cause she’s a special snowflake.
Mike doesn’t only prefer to hang out with the girls cause you need to be a love interest to him or something. It’s because the girls are the only characters that are nice to him and respect him.
I’d be crying like Mike too, since Sandy was the only other friend I had at this point, that didn’t beat the **** out of me and call me a “jerkface” all the time.
And like the comments above, Lucy just came to kindergarten with permanent angry tattooed on her face.
Like I don’t understand she’s coddled, loved or gets support from, by pretty much every everyone.
Her older brother, Paulo, Sue, even Daisy who is like super jelly of her etc.
And if she can’t even put down her defense for a person she’s known for like what, 10, 12 years or something like 95% of her life. Then she ain’t gonna put her defense down for anyone.

I guess lucy loves mike, but every shot of her she just looks ****** at him. I know people can get agressive when they like some one and drift into denial but my god lucy pretty much treated him bad too. Ya the guys absolutly clueless, but i can’t get over how many friends lucy even has, i mean she’s a total bitch to almost anyone who wants to get to know her just becasue she got insecure in elementery. I went through the same thing not with the anger crush on someone but, i realy think lucy needs help. Its been noted that she thought of killing herself and its very clear she’s Bipoler. I’m like paulo and if i saw her i’d want her but after getting clobbered annoff time’s annoff is annoff.

So my analysis of Lucy and Mike as far as their relationships to each other are like this… * deep breath*

Lucy- feels isolated as a child, finds a friend in Mike. Not knowing how to act around “friends” lashes out/ yells/ attacks Mike. Feels abandoned by first real friend/ jealous, sinks deeper into feeling of isolation continues down (self)destructive path hurting herself and pushing away others (Mike included) After finally coming to grips with her feelings she gets pummeled by the consequences of her actions, ultimately ending up in a vicious cycle of pushing people away because she feels alone and thus actually ending up alone and felling …. you get the idea.

Mike- Overly nice guy/ punching bag, befriends Lucy and gives her something she was missing, gets a crush on a girl and befriends her as well thus dividing his attention and not giving Lucy what she wanted/needed (attention and acceptance). is left alone with Lucy and begins to mature growing fond of her as well but also distanced by her unstable and often violent attitude. Ends up having to decide between one girl he likes and shows him affection and kindness and another girl he likes that is kind to him at times but can be violent, clingy, and irrational…ends up choosing Sandy lashing out while trying to find the happiness that he wanted (first with sandy and then as they grew up with Lucy).

neither is right or wrong it actually makes a lot of sense considering everything that happens to both of them, both messed up but at the same time are justified to a point in how they are acting because of events..

couples who divorced, especially with a bitter and painful experience, recall their wedding day as being gloomier and worse than it actually was. lucy might be unconsciously tweaking her version of events to protect herself. it’s a defense mechanism. then again, maybe she just didn’t think about her actions as a child until now…shock and awe??? either way, hoping this leads somewhere new rather than down old issues

@Someone
looking at it the same way you did…
is throwing yourself into a river from a cliff to save your best friend being selfish? is standing her hitting you all the time and laughing it off being selfish? defending her in front of other people, is that being selfish? then damn right Mike is a selfish ****

BOTH of them have their pros and cons, Mike got tired of the cons Lucy brings, thats it
As if none of us have ever fought with a friend to the point in which you can’t see their faces anymore— you just get tired of it, and you don’t want to take it anymore
And I must say I admire Mike, as even if my girlfriend asked me to go and apologize to someone I hate I wouldn’t do it, but Mike is up for it.

Lets stop the hate on both the characters and just enjoy the comic okay

I get what you are saying. But did you read about the “parasite” break through I wrote.
Wait I think Mike was afraid of being best friendless.(idk think about it) Seriously if some angry annoying bitch was hitting me and calling me names, to tell you truth I sure as F**K would not put up with it! I think Mike has finally grown a back bone… maybe had it all along? Notice to those when there are “threats” Mike stands up and confronts them. So what the fudge is keeping Mike from standing up and confronting Lucy? Has he finally grow the backbone to stand up to Lucy? I think so. Unfortunately for a certain DPD girl this isn’t the best time.

Ok someone laughed @ Lucy for talking crap out Mike being a baby when “Ms. Perfect” leaves. Now remember Sandy didn’t promise Mike to protect him , put up with his aggressive behavior( I think she would dump him), be there for him. So please I think Lucy has a better reason to ball her eyes out.

I just wish this Lucy would slap the present Lucy and remind how little Mike means to her(probably lie but I don’t want anymore tears!)

I think this is going to have MAJOR IMPORTANT when we return to the present. I HOPE maybe Mike remember how Lucy was still his “friend”, but I doubt that their friendship will ever be healed ._.
Ok I understand why Mike is PO’ed because he put up with Lucy’s behavior. But she has changed her behavior @least towards him, some needs to take down those “Sandy Blinds”(you know on a window?).

@Milkfruit: You deserve a hug for your name and another one for you comment. I agree we need to stop the hate on Mike, Lucy and Sandy.

Michael: Mike gets alot of hate(some of it is deserved), I guess everybody forgot that kids aren’t perfect little robot, last time I checked nobody is. Also, Mike lasted years of putting up with Lucy for many reasons(which you should at least have a clue about) and after all that physical and verbal abuse, which lasted for years, i’m surprised and glad that Mike didn’t get physical when he was at his angriest. Lucy doesn’t even have to be angry to punch/kick/slap someone and Mike only gets physical when justice needs to be served(see Ch. 12 Confrontation to see what i’m taking about) or if someone talks smack about Sandy then can expect to be smacked by Mike.

Lucy: Lucy gets hated on alot(some of it is deserved), a lonely girl with abandonment issues that lashes out on others, why does this sound so familiar? Oh wait that’s right it happens so often no wonder alot of people can relate to her. Most of the people she has meet had ulterior motives for talking to her or just didn’t want to talk to her and Mike being oblivious to her feeling just added on to that lonely feeling she has so sorry she isn’t a big bowl of sweets and happiness.

Sandra: Sandy used to get way too much hate(probably has something to do with the lack of info on her in the past), got tutored by Mike in exchange for salmon and worked her way into Mike’s heart(even if she didn’t need to do more than look like “an angel”). Sandy got hated on because Mike fell in love with her at first sight and took his attention from Lucy… how is that fair? She probably didn’t know who Lucy was and how can you blame either of them(Mike or Sandy) for spending so much time together with someone that makes you happy? We also know to thank Sandy’s parents for keeping the would be Romeo and Juliet couple(Mike and Sandy) apart. Her dad for the big move that separated them in 3rd grade and the mom who doesn’t like him.

I definitely shouldn’t let my mind wander because then I end up with long posts like these but hey if this keeps my mind away from violence and depression then i’m all for it even if it means staying in my room. No Emoticons in this one because my feelings are mixed cause of real life not cause of the comic.

Somehow I still manage to find so many comments saying they hate Mike, Lucy, or Sandy. Maybe people use these characters to release their own pent up rage which I guess makes sense since talking and letting it all out always makes me feel better. Kind of like seeing a good Psychiatrist except with a story that makes you think about more than your past.

Oh what sweet irony. She knows what to do, but she can’t seem to connect the theory into practice. Too bad. It’ll just have to happen. Sure she can choose to act or change her thinking and she can choose to choose to act, but at some point it’s just going to have to.. happen.

@kanashe (from the last page),
Here’s the thing, we’re not mike, so we’ll never expect to understand why he’s head over heels in love with her. So asking us what he sees in her is pretty stupid, it’s the same as if a girl asks one of her buddies what one of her guy friends sees in a girl. Of course they can’t answer that because they see things differently than the subject in question.
