Veronica: Fun fact: Paulo was originally meant to overreact to the making out in a humorous way, like pushing himself away and screaming, but Souppy told me that it would seem too stupid and like I am trying too hard to bring some comedy into the drama, so enjoy some relaxed but ultimately nervewrecked Paulo!

This is clearly the more realistic angle, as opposed to Paulo acting cartoonish. He’s still essentially pushing himself away and screaming, but internally!

Lucy why are you going so currraaaaazzzyyyyy~

Oliver: I think this was back when Vero kept feeling pressure from readers who were sick of drama and wanted zany antics, but there’s a direction to this comic that’s pretty solid by this point! If you’re not in it to see how the hell Paulo deals with this kind of situation, you’re here for the wrong reason!

On the case of Mike, it’s how you interpret it.
On one side, Mike dumped Lucy in favor of Sandy, even if everyone else would rather have Mike to at least give sympathy to Lucy. (hence selfishness)
On the other, Mike reconizes that Lucy needs to get over him so she doesn’t become a bigger wreak than she is now. (incase something did happen to Mike)

This, kids, is called “Dependency.” And, as a fun fact: If Lucy doesn’t break her bad habit of using others as tools for her own safety, she’ll never be happy. Only a nervous wreck, cascading from one person to the other while neglecting her pets.
