i’m so confused as what kind of person lucy is now, i mean okay shes had some emotional road bumps here and there, but it seems the adamants strong willed lucy is left with a stereotypical shy girl, what has their world come to! on a side note excellent story as always and keep up the good work.

It’s called aging. They are getting older, going through puberty, and teenangst-ing all over the place.

Just a sidenote, aren’t these lockers normally designed to automatically lock themselves once they’re closed?
At least the ones at my school did so whenever someone slapped the door to close it while i still needed to get something.

I don’t know who to feel more sad for now, Lucy for being rejected after nearly losing her love (twice no less!)which causes her to go into a breakdown. Or Mike who is losing his best friend all because he doesn’t like her that way.

Lucy is a silly person.

Nice comic. I enjoyed how everything was expressed so well without dialogue. As for Mike loosing his best friend- it sure didn’t seem that way to me. From the way Mike was acting, he seemed to barely tolerate Lucy- or at least, was very frustrated with her. I think their relationship needs some distance at this point, since their is way too much frustration and resentment between the two.

Just started following the comic recently [two weeks ago], read up ALL the comics thus far. I just gotta say one thing - Why Can’t Mike just forget that girl so far away and get hooked up with one of the chicks [cats?] that are available right in front of him?

Sure hope Lucy doesnt hate Mike after all this. And I also hope that the two of them can atleast remain friends after all this drama

That’s a pretty odd waving hand for Paulo in the 2nd panel… looks like that instance in K-On where Yui ended up waving with her hand in a chord position.

Personally, I can only kind of pity mike at this point. Certainly the current situation was not all his fault, but to the degree that, especially in this chapter, he has one to petty insults against Lucy, I think that he deserves anything that comes to him.

Awesome comic! I’m not into the drama/comedy stories, but this one is really good and well writted. I’ve read it in less than 24 hours and it just keep going better and better.
Now expecting Monday!

mike’ll probably be the outcast of the group somewhat for a while, and i have a feeling that with mike out of the spotlight temporarily, it would be nice to see a bit more of the secondary characters

To Ragnir: Its not very easy to give up someone you love, no matter how far away they are. I know from personal experience. It’s really easier said than done.

Stupid lucy is a total idiot, but it’s nothing new.
I bet he somehow found out already about lucys escapade with paulo, and even if he didn’t it’s her fault this is so messed up. >.>

I think mike should join a youth club for his next step or something, make some more friends and meet some new girls. Of course, In a comic, it’s way loads of effort to draw all that out and keep readers interested ;D

I don’t think he’d have any reason to meet NEW girls, that might imply he was looking for something. If anything it would be more likely for him, in an outcastish stupor, to fall across a different clique of students in school which he would proceed to hang out with.
But that might require too much effort to create the new people

well, the big question is when the unresolved plot points come up again. We have that one guys gang who is out to get mike (will be a lot easier with lucy out of the picture) and then we will probably need another arc about Sandy, who, if you flip back a few pages, is recognized by one of the characters who “cant remember where she has seen her before” So I predict that we will need an arc about sandy as well. Any other arc is just buying time before one of these two happen.

it makes me wonder… Will Taeshi do an arc on Sandy? and if so…. how will it go down? Maybe do a little 10-20 page sum up of Sandy’s life thus far, including Mike’s phone call, and her business trip to Europe and maybe (GASP) another man she keeps hidden from Mike, thinking he’s gripping on her, therefore shes being nice and keeping her image of love alive. But, i guess we’ll have to wait until monday to find out. oh, and by the way *hit for saying Sandy cheats on Mike*

sorry for double comment, but i wanna say to Suitcase up there about the ending. I kinda agree with you there. On the one hand, if it had ended where with her behind the locker, it would have been more dramatic and like “omg shes hiding from mike, now things will never be the same” but at the same time, those last 3 panels show her SLAMMING the locker, which (to me) show Lucy is ❚❚❚❚❚❚ off at herself for hiding, and is making a change to stop being the way she is now.

nice chapter,not your best one,but all n’ all,you can’t just keep topping yourself.
sooo,basically it’s an average one.
your drawing with the tablet and coloring with photoshop still needs work.
but your gradually improving… progress is a slow proses.
plus i don’t know if it’s even possible to be as good with a computer as you were with a pencil.

story wise,it’s been really melodrametic recentally,like the plot had it’s
brake wire cut and is speeding out of control.
nevertheless,i have to commend you for the dialog writing.
you were able to make this whole overly dramatic episode possible to read without cringing.
so… good job.

I keep reading a lot about people locking their lockers and locking other people into them. At my school, you’re lucky if the lockers even close.

Soupy: So, flashback time and more awkward moments.
And maybe Sandy will finally see Mike. (and how he messed up Lucy)
I’m impressed that we have around 60 posts right now.

I don’t think it’s really Mike who messed up Lucy. From my own speculating, and personal experience, I’d have to say Lucy messed up Lucy. She keeps her feelings bottled up, only shows them briefly, and quickly turns to Mike who serves as her pillar of strength. She’s kept things in for so long that she no longer knows how to handle them herself. Now that she has confessed to Mike, she can no longer hold things back. And Mike’s rejection left her without her only source strength.

She set herself up to fail, and is now suffering the consequences. That being said, Mike was a blind fool for just spurning her. If he truly does recognize that he is the one person holding her up he should have let her down easier. Or perhaps grown up, stopped living in the past, stopped living for a future that wasn’t 100%, and taken a chance.

TL;DR version: You deserved it Lucy. You suck Mike. You go Paulo!

Well, granted that alot of it was Lucy’s fault. However, she could not control mike’s reaction, and mike was a huge ❚❚❚ in this last chapter especially. She wasnt even really miserable until after Mike started insulting her.

Hust to make things clear, I agree with most of what was said above, I just think that Lucy is a tad less to blame and mike a tad more

Darkdrake: Fair enough. I can see where I may personally be reading a bit much into Lucy’s emotional problems, I guess it remains to be seen just how deep they run as far as our master storyteller decides. And absolutely Mike has to take some of the blame.

@SuitCase waaaaay earlier: I really like those three panels. I see them as a sort of resolution to the big one before them. Like, there’s this freeze frame of Mike looking in Lucy’s direction, with the large panel emphasizing the tension of the moment...and then he leaves; a sigh of relief. The last fermata of the phrase, so to speak, followed by the chord’s resolution. *End*

Anyhow, much thanks to you and Taeshi for telling this story. Such an emotional roller coaster - I just want everyone to be happy. Especially Lucy and Daisy.

I find it facinating nobody else noticed this, but technically lucy is walking on air, that certainly doesn’t fit her mood though now does it.

Mike appears to be the new villian.

I wouldn’t go as far as to say villain; but, he has admittedly gained a bit of an attitude and is rather apathetic at the moment.

I get the feeling that, although the comic revolves around everyone… Lucy seems to be that “leading” character…
