Actually, it kinda looks like Paulo almost got nervous suddenly or something. His word bubble is partially over the other one in the second to last panel, and it’s all wobbly-shaped, as is the laughter one… so it’s like he’s drunk on soda or abruptly anxious.

Lucy looks so… combination of sad and bashful.

Judging from the rest of the chapter and the start of the following one, I think the implication is that Lucy’s staring at Paulo and blushing.

They should have paulo start crying and say “I havent slept in three days! hahaha! hahaha!
