I feel that he’s more worried than anything, afraid that she’s messing herself up. But in his mind; he feels that if he were to help Lucy in any way at this point-it would only provoke her, and he also doesn’t want any dramatics where he’d potentially get in trouble again. Which is why; he attempts to do nothing for the most part-not even critiquing her at this point.
