I like this incentive comic! It’s open-ended, slightly depressing, and suggests that not all angst and tension has been put to rest.

I loled at the fact that Taeshi left out Lucy giving Yashi her medicine. I know it happened, hopefuly…

Yeah… I can’t stand long distance relationships. Never again. Someday Mike is going to have his happy little dream torn to pieces before his eyes, and boo-hoo-hoo, he’ll have nobody to cry to.

Seriously, if she really felt that way to him, she would’ve figured out a way to spare him at least a few days out of her life. What makes him think it will get any better someday? This is all he knew.

Here’s a story that doesn’t really make any progress. As much as I enjoyed reading it, the presence of this “Liam” Gary Stu made me smirk ruefully and shake my head. Of course it’s gonna be a nice guy who pulls a creepy act, pouncing on a convenient tragedy like Yashi being sick that gets him into Lucy’s ‘shell’, a shell wherein THIS point is already behind her. She was more open before this cute little arc.

If this happened in real life, I’d suspect Liam of having poisoned Yashi, because it’s more likely than being able to just ‘guess’ on a ‘hunch’. Ockam’s razor just does not cut in his favor this time.

But hey, guest art is guest art. I am glad it was here, even IF it was a tad contrived.



In other news, I’m kind of surprised there isn’t a guy who likes lucy for non-superficial reasons. I mean, I SUPPOSE connor might be it, but he is literally one dimensional, with his only personality characteristic being love of her. He practically doesn’t exist otherwise.

I guess I’m just kind of disappointed that he DID have an ulterior motive—that he was attracted in the first place because his own girlfriend died… and I didn’t even care for his response. But then AGAIN, I suppose that if he were a little more … substantial, he might have been TOO good, and could have actually damaged the continuity. Now he gets to fade into the background while the focus follows the major players again.

I’m with WOW Geek on this one. DIE YOU STUPID BLACK-HAIRED MIKEXLUCY BARRIER!!

I hate trolls, so I’m going to say this as non-troll-ish as possible: To Stone Taggart: Your first two paragraphs are insightful and brilliant. Your third paragraph (“Here’s a story…&rdquo shines with brilliance. As I first read this chapter, I found myself sharing the EXACT SAME suspicions in your fourth paragraph, i.e. it’s more likely that Liam orchestrated Yashy’s sickness than happened to be that insightful.

Then, you put three major holes in your credibility. First, you assumed that this is guest art. Where was that stated? I was under the impression that this chapter was drawn by the comic’s creator, same as the other chapters. Second, you mentioned a character named Connor, who is actually named Carter. To be fair, your depiction of Carter as one-dimensional is spot-on, and I understand that you may have forgotten his name due to his (thankfully) infrequent appearances. Third (after this I’ll stop; promise!), my understanding was that, contrary to your final paragraph, Liam set aside his ulterior motive to really respect Lucy on her own merits, and that Lucy PREVENTED him from becoming more “substantial.”

I sincerely apologize to SuitCase and Taeshi for what must seem like pointless squabbling in the comments section.

But then again, Jinx is happy with the incentive chapter as is. :3 So no rant.

Also Ari, Stone Taggart probably thought this was a guest comic because above the page where it states the name of the chapter, it says “And Guest Comic.” Just sayin’, hun. xD
