I like slice-o-life chapters like this. I’m continually surprised by Souppy’s ability to write this kind of stuff. But props to you both for this one

You can really tell that Taeshi has become a lot more comfortable with Sandy’s character design in this chapter. I admit that I was half-hoping for drama/angst, but I do think that this chapter was necessary at some level. Of course, the commentary hints that I may yet get what I wished for, so I’ll just wait and see.

Sandy is definitely growing on me now that she’s been showcased more prominently with her own chapter. At first I couldn’t fully get behind her as a love interest to Mike especially since I think that in a perfect world, MikexLucy really needed to happen. But now I know she needs Mike almost as much as Lucy does/did.

omg i thought she would be kidnapped cause shes pretty and no one knew where she was mike didn’t talk for days, months and lucy found her in a farm house and she was tied up lucy got her out of the ropes saved her mike was happy but he lyked lucy now cause she saved sandy so no one cares for sandy and you see paulo, liam, carter, sandy, david, daisy, that gay dude and others crying in the corner

I dunno if I should be happy or sad.

The latter strips seem to have Sandy in a downward spiral to depression, but yeah, they do get to talk a lot more than they used to.

The last three panels are the ones to sum up my feelings towards this.

A change of pace, definitely a big revelation chapter for Sandy’s character. Some parts made me sad, others made me smile, some I just felt odd because I didn’t know how to react, but I can see just how much she cares about Maishul (Cute how she still calls him that after so many years). The last three panels were amazing, I’m really wondering what the next chapter holds.

Kudos, and I can’t wait for Monday (Never thought I’d ever say that ).

I like the second to last panel. I think it shows even Sandy is starting to think Mike is getting obsessed with her.

I used to strongly dislike Sandy, but am finding it hard right now.

I think Lucy hates Sandy, but doesn’t actually know what she’s like nowadays. As usual, people who are hurt by others think them horrible people, and make assumptions. As you can see, yet another victim of misunderstanding-hate.

Why is it that Sandy is the only person who wears clothes?! Is it because she’s the only person with hair that is a different color from her fur?

On another note, I think Sandy looks rather sad in the final panel, even though she’s talking about how “wonderful” it would be when she comes to see him.

MikexSandy is cute buuuuut…just not bitter enough for my tastes. But now we have seen Sandy so I can’t use the fact that I know nothing about her as a reason for MikexLucy.

She’s just more formal (or stylish) than most of the BCB cast. Tess has different fur color from her hair so I don’t think that’s the case. Clothes are more of an accessory than anything in the BCB canon.

I finished the archives a couple of weeks ago, and I like this webcomic. You’re art is good and the story helps me understand why I’m antisocial. ^_^ I’m kidding. (But seriously if this is what having friends is like, I don’t want in)

Anywho, as for the chapter, I found it interesting to find out more about Sandy. I think the little flicker of emotion in the last three panels is showing how Sandy might want pictures of Micheal and is somewhat annoyed Mike didn’t offer. Of course I don’t know how relationships work, so…

Panel four- what the hell sort of a resting position is that?! Her head is cranked up at an eighty degree angle and her pillow has more volume than her entire body! If it is to look like the normal pillow in panel two, it will have to be reduced in size by 2/3 or so. Can’t sleep like that, will hurt your neck and keep you awake anyway. You try talking on the phone with your head tilted over at such a steep angle like that.

From what i have seen she has been since day 1, just sandy took away the way she hides it, she is massively dependant on Mike, to an unhealthy level, Lucy if she ever got mike would break him without realising it, as she would only get MORE dependant.

I fully endorse MikeXSandy, i also endorse MikeXAnyoneButLucy. atleast till she learns to be her own person without destroying all connection to the world.

People can’t just change their personalities to suit others on a whim. The whole point of dramas is dealing with the differences in people and peoples emotions.

Personally I don’t think Mike deserves Lucy. She needs someone who loves her for her even her flaws. Not someone who stays around cause he feels sorry for her.

Hmm… you know, the expressions in panels 2 and 3 remind me of Tohru Honda from Fruits Basket. They’ve got that ‘happily spaced out’ look.

@ Novali: I have to agree with you on that one. Not everyone has the same personality. Personally I don’t think Paulo x Lucy would work out well, but seeing their relationship, his personality works almost perfectly with Lucy’s attitude. It’s a very easy-going friendship.

Why is it that I get a distinct feeling that the sh*t is about to hit the fan? Personally, I don’t think that Daisy was far off when she said something about Sandy not being faithful. Call me crazy, but I am great at reading between the lines, and that look she has in the last three panels says it all.

Finnaly finished this comic took me just one week to finish it. So much being late up maybe 12:00

I have some difficulty liking Sandy as she is competition for Lucy… I think I am a bit of a sucker for a damsel in distress. I also kinda feel like Sandy is trying and failing at working up the courage to tell Michael something significant, and possibly detrimental to their relationship.

You know, you guys, most webcomic authors don’t even have a set time for updates, and just do so whenever it’s done… Taeshi does a pretty great job, and she’s more spot-on with updating than most comics I read. >.>

It really bugs me when people bug Taeshi about updating; she updates three times a week, has a set time, and nearly always updates on time.
Most webcomic authors only update once or twice a week and have no set time, etc. etc. etc. >_>;;

Love the comic, and I have to say…BE PATIENT! Working on swords, I’m familiar with deadlines. Comics and tsukamaki are quite similar in nature. They are art, and when rushed, the art (and artist) suffers. Deadlines will be met, and the work will be good…moreso when the artist can do so at their own pace.

I say good on Taeshi for keeping up with demand so well.

Ugh, the whol time I hoped sandy was just trying to make Maishul feel better and had actually moved on. But she hasn’t. Poor Lucy, but you had your chances and you push maishul away every time.

I like Sandy. Don’t see why everyone despises her so much. Oh, right; I forgot. Because it gets in the way of LucyXMike, doesn’t it? Well, I laugh at all you guys who are fans of that. Sandy isn’t as bad as you thought; she’s staying with Mike. So HA!

I don’t really have a type of character-couple thing.
I think that keeping the drama coming without anybody really getting settled yet is totally cool with me.
I think I might be one of the few that just doesn’t want to see anybody get together. That’s just cuz I don’t want it to end. :3

I admit that I’m not consistent at all with what I say. My tune changes as the comic progresses.

I kinda liked it when I hated her.

I still stand by my opinions. Mike should forget her and Love the one he HAS, not lust after the sunset. Talk, webchat, text, and write all you want, it ain’t as tangible and it’s just sad after a while.

Now I’m just guilty to think that way.

As for her… she’s a puppet. Her mother is setting her up for her life. She’s not getting to decide what to do. It’s the sadness that plagues Asia, this lack of individualism. And the modeling? One might argue it’s just playing to the child’s perceived strengths, but I’ve seen them. The mothers that always wanted to be a princess, dragging their kids to the padgents and the like. The fathers who want everyone to see the princess inside of their little dears, and get furious at the poor kid for messing up a little until it’s not fun at all. In my experience, while these people do indeed qualify for the biological status of mother and father, they usually lack the qualities to deserve the EARNED title of mom or dad.

It’s clear that there is no chance of her permanently moving anywhere. Father still on his social climb and following his boss’s every direction, including where to live. Sounds to me like her parents are living through her, like she is struggling to keep a personality of her own in the sickeningly phony worlds of business and, more drastically, modeling.

Modeling. Faugh! Too-wide ersatz ****-eating smiles all around. Pointing at the same dull tan, spotless, short, anorexic blondes and calling them absolutely perfect in form, when really to me they all just look sort of sad and little and unnaturally dark. I mean, bronze looks natural on dark haired ladies, that’s just fact. The genes for dark skin and fair hair don’t usually mix. It’s all a big farce, and the little I’ve seen, with my close friend having been in a few pageants and stuff, it’s all… just… so… sickeningly artificial. Hollow, shriveled dreams of old women the driving force of it’s continued existence. Warping children into something they’re not… for the sake of one’s one pleasure.

To me, it seems only a small step down from pornography, in terms of honor. The connotations of child and adult of that category and all. Disgusting. An unnecessary evil of this world if I ever knew one.

And THAT is why I feel bad for Sandra. And why I feel guilty for still putting the emotional should-be’s of the main characters over her happiness. Even so, this entire story revolves around them and they SHOULD be together. Clearly they are the bittersweet bread and butter. Bittersweet, bitter first, sweet last. Sandra can find another friend, or at the least peace with herself.

I have same feelings that I feel conveyed with Sandy here, at the end panels.
When you’re in love with the person, and are sure they’re the one, AND long distance, it only feels half as amazing as it should.

I hate to say but instead of skipping the sandy info and reading it instead. I no longer hate her. She doesn’t know whats really going on and she is sweet and kind. tho i think her mother is trying to make her do stuff she wished she could of done in her age
