These two really need to meet again in person, or both may just drown in angst.

On another note, Sandy is pretty loyal to Mike.
I’m sure Sandy’s gotten looked upon by other guys, (considering she’s a model and all) yet she stays faithful and goes through the pain of a long distance relationship in hopes of seeing her one-and-only Maishul.

Awww, poor thing is lonely. Dunno if there was anything Mike could’ve realistically been expected to do. When we guys hear something like that from the girl we love, it’s almost near-instant “to the rescue” mode (if the guy is a good guy at heart).

-sigh- This hits so close to home for me. Been in a long distance relationship for close to 7 years now, and lemme tell ya, I know exactly how these two are feeling right now. You try so hard to make it as good as possible, you want so bad to make it work because you don’t wanna let that one special person go…but it’s so damn hard! And something tells me that Sandy’s mom isn’t exactly supportive of her relationship with Michael.

I’ve been in the MikexSandy court since I learned of the relationship, and I would love to see some happiness with them, especially since it’s been nothing but harship for them again and again. They need to see eachother, and soon…it’s those visits, those little reminders of how much you love your other and how good it feels to be with them that makes it all worthwhile. If something doesn’t give soon…I honestly don’t see this lasting much longer..

Man.. This chapter… Gah, I used to HATE MikexSandy with a passion, but after seeing all of this, I can’t help but change my mind. You’re tossing me all over the place. I don’t know which one I want more: MikexSandy or MikexLucy. x_x

I think maybe Mike seems less emotional about the situation because he has more faith in the situation than Sandy does. He seems more calm and collect about it than Sandy does. Granted, girls tend to get more emotional about these things….but maybe she has thought out the “what if’s” more than Mike.

Did you even realize that Mike was going crazy for Sandy and left Lucy alone? What kind of a friend is that? There’s nothing more that screams ”❚❚❚❚❚❚❚” than putting your girlfriend or boyfriend before your friends. And that’s my point, firestar. When Sandy moved away he wanted to replace her with Lucy. That hurt Lucy a lot; she didn’t do anything wrong. So in conclusion, Mike is a true sannavabitch. He doesn’t deserve Sandy OR Lucy.

I don’t think Lucy is a bitch at all. I think she needs to get over her personal issues and stop being mean to others or reclusive as a self-defense mechanism. Once she learns how to control her emotions and be ok with herself…it will become clear whether or not she really does love Mike …or if it was just an intense need.

Mike isn’t a bitch…he just needs to grow a pair. I think he knows what he wants he is just way too wishy washy about it to do anything about. Things don’t just “happen”. Sometimes you have to do something about it….you wanna bitch and moan about Sandy missing chances to visit you?,,,,then make the effort to go she her.

Ah, I believe Noodle got it quite directly. Mike attempted to replace Sandy with Lucy when Sandy moved away. Now, whilst I don’t consider Mike a horrible being, I do think that he is being hypocritical and is a huge portion to blame. Michael’s use of Lucy in the void completely side-steps the fact Lucy genuinely cares about Mike, and just shows how Michael is dependent upon a love-interest /being there/.

This was exactly the thing he blew up at Lucy over. We have countless evidence of Lucy standing up for Mike, and in unguarded moments snuggling up to him. Anybody remember the time she bodily stood in front of him (which I think is a significant chapter-plot-wise)? Her past has ill-equipped Lucy to communicate her emotions, and as seen by when she starts being very nice to Michael earlier, she’s really trying. If Lucy’s emotions were truly dependence, then she would have very little regard for Mike’s goodwill, opinion, or his own emotions. Lucy also allowed herself to stand in for Sandy, because she didn’t like seeing Mike down about Sandy’s leaving.

I can clearly see love between Mike and Sandy, but the fact of the matter is, he turned Lucy into his other crush, and this turned around and bit him when Lucy actually fell for him. He’s attempting to make this is Lucy’s fault, and is just being a sore tail to be honest.

If we can recall the chapter where Michael claimed Lucy was dependent for the first time, she’s crying about him getting hurt because of her. This adds up to equal dependence? Well not quite. Guilt, fear, loss. Michael-boy, you may have been fishing, but she thought you were dead, and she cared about you. Lucy was probably going through the stages of grief at a normal pace. The shock of you being okay, is going to make any person in this situation cry. You are a not being used as a wall. You are being loved, and cared for, as a friend, and whatever convoluted relationship you have.

So, quite frankly, Mike’s complaints are largely invalid regarding Lucy. He’s at least honest to the point that, there’s nothing much he can do, and that’s well and fine. But he should accept his portion of blame, not ignore Lucy as a friend, and actually be a decent person. Or something~

Anyway, Mike is not the principal character anymore, he acts kind of selfish and doesn’t respect his friends(especially Lucy) enough to deserve any of the girls.

I understand your point of view. I think one can still have similar feelings of loss and guilt and what not if there is a dependence issue. She did after all cling to Mike at an early age and probably developed this state of mind early on. I also think she has feelings for him, but really needs to get over a few things first before deciding whether or not she loves him (depending on how you define love). I guess love to me is just one of those gray words, haha. You kind of make it what you want it to be. I guess if both parties consent it doesn’t matter.

@Iris- Agreed, she has a bit of b’aw and confusion. Personally, I’d like to see her go into a singing career with Zachie, using all the drama with her friends and whatnot to propel her singing and get this drama out of her too. I think she does need to stand on her two feet a bit, because it’s becoming clearer and clearer that she can have better than Michael, or perhaps the Michael who wore the blue scarf. I’ve disliked him more and more since he changed scarf to be honest ^^;

I would like to say that this comic strip has been an amazing use of time for me. I have checked all strips in the day that i am posting this and it is amazing! It had me hooked from the start. I hope you continue to do this strip as it is awesome.

I didn’t hate her before or anything. I was just ambivalent about her. Nothing against her but I wanted Mike to have Lucy. But I like Sandy.

Gosh, you know. I was a Mike and Lucy shipper. Now I think maybe Lucy could use someone else.

Looking at all the comments, I realized something. Mike never truly cared for Lucy. Lucy needed a friend and he was there for her… until Sandy came and he completely ignored her for Sandy. When Sandy left, the only reason Mike started to have feelings for Lucy was because he was hoping to replace Sandy with Lucy. Because in his own sick little head, their similar physical appearances might mean similar personality. In Lucy, Mike saw a potential Sandy clone, and that was good enough for him.

It was because of Mike’s open crush and advances that Lucy eventually gave in and thought, “Hey. Maybe I like this guy after all.”

And once she finally gives into the idea that Mike sucked her into, Mike rejected her and then acted terrible to her. Starting arguments with her and everything, as if he couldn’t handle blaming himself for Lucy’s feelings and needed to use her as a scapegoat for his and Sandy’s angst together. Up till this point I was originally thinking “Aw, Mike’s so faithful to Sandy. I shouldn’t be mad at him for not cheating on the poor girl with Lucy.”

But now I realize… he’s just a jerk. He may be faithful to Sandy now, but previously he was willing to give her up if he could just find a replacement for her, the very thing that he’s always scolding Lucy for. Now that he has realized that Lucy and Sandy are very different from each other, Mike rejects her and even openly insults her. Like how he reacted when Zack asked him if he and Lucy were dating. “NO! Because I have a much nicer, sweeter, prettier…”

The only reason I hated Mike x Sandy so much was because, in truth, my hate was only misplaced anger. I hate Mike for the idiot that he is. He’s nice enough to Sandy, and it’s possible that she may be able to change him, but in truth, I no longer support Mike x Lucy because Lucy deserves much, much better.

@Skygaze: You know, I think you’ve put into words why I’ve been getting more and more antsy about Michael. Everything we know about Michael says that he’s not a nice person, and is only after a kitten to be his love, because it’s all… well it’s all about him, him, him.

When you view Lucy as his Sandy-replacement, any act of affection from him is now dubious, uncertain, shakey. To be honest, if you people remember Daisy’s complaint about Sandy, that being “She uses people” I don’t wonder if it’s Michael using people. After all, he’s been ghastly to Paulo and the two seemed to get along okay for awhile - and he’s using him for the bike-thing. I guess that’s more mutual, but still, the sentiment. Not to mention the drama with Lucy has Sue putting the…er.. well Mike has interesting acting skills and should perhaps not be a lead role?

Anyhow, moving along. Daisy liked Michael, and she liked him a lot. Daisy is a pretty nice girl, in my opinion, although she has her flaws, she does seem sweet inside and out. I wouldn’t peg Daisy as a person to like someone who wasn’t nice in some manner. Take how nice she is to Paulo, despite Abbey and Michael disapproving - her two primary love interests. Michael must have some kindly qualities to him, surely?

He was fairly nice to her before highschool. He also seemed more pleasant with Lucy. I wonder if this is his ‘tolerate, and consider Lucy a clone’ side, or if he’s just growing up (aka. teenage ANGST). I really am not sure here. In general, I am more and more against Michael - especially as Lucy’s primary reasons for liking Mike, is the fact he was her first friend. I guess I’d like to see more of Mike’s interaction with Sandy to get a better gauge of him.

But, I am quite definitely getting a negative feel to Mike right now. I still think Lucy doesn’t need a man, and would still love love love to see her become a singer using her contact with Zachie, stand on her own two feet, and get rich offa Michael’s BS-ing. And her BS-ing. And…all this BS-ing in general =3

This is great. I’m honestly getting the impression that people are trying to see into the future of this comic for either getting to the end of the MikexLucy Vs. MikexSandy war, or just to find a conclusion. And at the risk of getting my head torn off, I think everyone’s getting a little harsh on Mike :S Let me explain: In the MikexSandy case, Mike is having to put up with the pressure of a long-distance relationship, as well as the stress that school, friends [Lucy being one of the top contributers. Bless her ] and all kinds of other things. All of that is going to create even more angst for him and those around (or maybe in Sandy’s case, far away) him are taking the fallout from it.
Conversely, in the MikexLucy case, Mike would have to forget his first ever love, in his eyes the most perfect girl he’s ever going to meet, and move his affections back closer to home to Lucy, which while easier geographically than a long-distance, Mike still has to accept Lucy and help her work on her insecurity and trust issues. Even though Lucy very clearly loves him, getting rid of the traits of a lifetime and of their friendship would inevitably be one of if not the most difficult things she would ever do. Who knows, will Mike still want to be with her if she changes so much? She’ll be nicer, more open and trusting (hopefully), but Lucy as she is now is how Mike has always known her. He’s used to her like that. So if Lucy does change, will she become any different from all the other girls that used to fawn over him and put notes into his locker?

So yeah, that’s my rambly and long opinion. Wouldn’t mind any comments, I like to hear what other people think about me and my thoughts. Thanks!

I don’t see Mike as much of a jerk and bad guy at heart as simply a guy who simply has alot on him right now and isn’t handling it in the best way. Yes he’s ended up hurting his friends and retreating inside himself, but that’s kind of to be expected when it seems that EVERYONE is going after you for something (the retreating inside oneself, that is).

@ Persona: You made some very interesting points there. o_o Maybe one of the main reasons why Mike was considered so nice by everyone was because he never got involved in any drama. He kept out of a lot things, including real intimate friendships. He simply tolerates and goes with the flow, making him a neutral party.

I really hate Sandy for how Lucy feels and how Mike uses her. Also, why does she call him Maishul? Aside from being annoying, the only other thing I can think of is she has a lisp or couldn’t pronounce Michael before so she called him Maishul?

Actually, I just hate Mike for being a complete ❚❚❚ to Lucy, not so much Sandy. Although, she DID ignore Daisy, who was her friend and sort out butted Lucy out, who was Mike’s friend so she could have him to herself. She really seemed rude at that point. I mean, sure, you could blame Mike for Sandy ignoring Daisy and for Lucy being ignored, but I blame BOTH parties here.

If Daisy was her friend, why did Sandy suddenly just drop her like a rock? And while she invited Lucy to play, she instantly ran off with Mike and basically ignored Lucy along with him and made no further attempts to get Lucy to play with them. I think she initially only offered Lucy to play to make herself look sweet in front of her crush, being nice to his friend and all.

All in all, Sandy and Mike both seem like selfish brats. Especially when she’s obviously not telling Mike something critical here. If something’s up and she truly loves him, she should tell him outright instead of hiding it from him.

And Lucy may be a brat as well, but she’s a traumatized brat, so it’s not entirely her fault.

I find it intriguing that the individuals on this board are majorly expecting relationships to shoot out from the currently presented characters. In the reality of things less than 10% of relationships started in high school or lower last to become marriages and life partnerships. By the end of this it can be expected that each couple will have broken up and each character will have learned and developed some form of life lesson from each other character. They will move on in their lives and pursue their own dreams and ideals. This was my initial brainstorm before completing the series.

Before I continue I will tell you a little about myself. I am #2930423, a personal assistant android designed by the robotics company known as Corvak. Corvak will be founded in the year 2052 by Josephine Ricardo(Then 28 years old.) My primary objective is to manage the entertainment of the household in which I reside. I came across BCB as the daughter of my master came across it. At her request I researched the origins of this series to this, and several other websites. It had seemed that by the time we came across this series, the site was already removed for over 30 years. Thus, during summer, my master’s daughter took me back in time so that we may track down this site and view it in its original glory. Time travel has in fact been invented but can only be done in increments of years.

In time Veronica comes to live off of this series. She partners with steelstone inc, at that time a newly-founded animation company, where BCB is transformed into a series that lasted twelve seasons long. I feel if I leak anymore information on the series I may ruin Veronica’s intended suspense and feel obligated to refrain from spoiling any further information as a fan of the show. I can only tell you that if you stay for the ride, it will be thoroughly enjoyable.
