Aww, it’s always easier when you are not the one in the situation, let’s put ourselves in their places. And it’s harder when you are a teenager, hormones make you crazy, so much drama. I love this comic. And I dislike Mike ‘cause he’s a jerk. I disapprove sex before marriage, but still I think all of them are kind of confused. Being 15-16 is the age when you think you know everything, but the truth is you don’t. We can just wait and see what happens. Let’s wish all of them a happy ending.

Ok. I verbally choked a little reading this page, drawing the attention and confusion of the rest of the film crew. This page, for whatever reason, REALLY tugs at my heart strings.

I never thought it was possible… But… I think you might have FINALLY changed my favourite pairing. I think PauloxLucy is now officially my all time favourite pairing in the whole comic. Even more so than MikexSandy. And that’s quite an achievement.

Mike is a wuss and Paulo wants to be with the tsundere girl. And the tsundere girl is amazed by the Somali. Interesting, intriguing. Too bad it’s only 3 more pages to go. But many people here loved this daydream. Or even nor are totally LucyxPaulo. Oh well, the future is coming and we don’t know what will bring. Oh taeshi, you make us struggle, cry, laugh, hit ourselves, facepam, but that’s why we love you and that’s why we love the comic.

Paulo sure has a more…. colorful vocabulary doesn’t he? I cant help wondering why this is going to be a bad choice for Paulo. It cant be a simple no from Lucy, because why go through an entire “what if” scenario if we all knew the end from the start/ If it is a bad choice then it has to be worse. I’m no successful comic writer, but i am a writer, take it from a guy with experience. It,s just common sense, but if you already made the page in real life I guess there’s no point in making another one. It’s fine if you did. Heck, I’d post it if I already made it. Anyway the rest of the chapter has been good in Paulo’s personal view. It’s very….. enlightening.

I love Lucy and Paulo as a couple. a few days ago i discovered this webcomic by complete accident. I decided I’d read it because the strip I saw was Lucy walking into the bathroom to take the preg. test. I clicked back a few pages and was reading more, and I really like Paulo and Lucy together, so I decided to read the whole comic from the begining. Over time of reading I almost didn’t continue when I found out they weren’t even the same characters I remembered when I first came to the series. I’m glad I stuck around because today I caught up with the comic and its sooooo good! and ya know what? I STILL like lucy and paulo together.

WoW I only started a few days ago (I think it was 4 updates ago) and decided to read from the start. Being sick i got plenty of time to read so i finished reading the whole thing and man am i depressed. Its probably because when i started i didn’t know this is in a “What If” kind of way and when i finally figured it out. Poor Paulo. Seriously he deserves someone.

I’m not saying I’m upset that this isn’t cannon, in fact I’m not sure this COULD be cannon as this is all in Paulo’s head. Even more i believe its actually a good thing he didn’t come together with Lucy. (don’t throw those rocks yet) I think they should both learn to cope with things first. I believe Paulo will truly deserve Her when he finally learns to really open up (as i said above this is in his head, it doesn’t mean he could really face Lucy and tell her what he told her here. But that works both ways.

This is most probably the best web comic i ever came across… Well in the dramatic line I mean. Thank you for creating it for us!

@ Null: I think he’s all two dimensional because, since this is a daydream, he’s ‘perfecting’ himself, so that anything that would make it a bad decision would be Lucy’s “fault”, not his own. After all, it’s his daydream, why should he have to be the bad guy?

In all honesty, though, I actually think that speech is very in-character for him. Just about every time he’s let his guard down, he’s expressed the opinion that he thinks Mike is genuinely lucky, and wishes that he could be Lucy’s ‘support’.

First time comment, btw. I’ve been reading this comic for a while, though, since before ‘Another Shoulder’.

I think the next bit is where Lucy tells Paulo that this could never have happened and reminds him that it’s all a day dream.

Okay, hound55, I thought I made this clear last time, but those two ***** SLEPT WITH HIM! He had really no idea how things were gonna turn out. At least with Jasmine he had control over the night and he didn’t sleep with her. This pairing seems the most logical since he wants to provide her with those things she couldn’t get from assbutt Maishul. Ictiv, you make an interesting point, and I would love to see if Taeshi proves you right.

I completely agree with Null’s entire statement, Lucy has been bagging on Mike with the deluxe package of mixed messages (comes with a $20 gift card to Wal-Mart) and maybe if Paulo had to deal with the motherf@#kery he would have a different look on the situation (thing is he doesn’t GET what Mike has been through, risking his life, and putting up with her disrespect 24/7).

But then again, it is MY opinion and I respect others opinions on who should be with who in the end, either way its up to Taeshi and she always makes the best decisions.

Like some people have said, I do agree. If Mike was aware of how much Lucy has cared all along, and the feelings that she had for him underneath her tough outer skin, and he still acted the way he did to her, then we’d have a right to call him a jerk.

Unfortunately, he wasn’t aware. He probably still doesn’t believe Lucy when she told him that she loved him. He only believes in her tough exterior and doesn’t think that she has any loving or caring feelings for him in the least, he was never aware of it. He feels like he’s just been used by Lucy all along, and naturally, that’s made him bitter. Therefore, his actions may be unfair, but only we, the readers, know that because we had the opportunity to see both sides of the story. If we were just seeing this from Mike’s point of view, we’d be all like “Who CARES if she claims she loves you? Get away from that crazy b****!! o_o”

Believe me, I badly want to call Mike an insensitive jerk and a meanie, but looking at the whole situation, I see that I can’t until he becomes aware of Lucy’s true feelings. Then I would be able to judge him on the actions that he makes afterward, but for now, Mike and Lucy have just had a terrible misunderstanding that has possibly damaged their relationship by a lot.

Oh P.S. But I STILL am REALLY ROOTING for Paulo x Lucy because they’re awesome 8’D

The furst time we got a good look at Inner Lucy was the Confrontation chapter. Lucy went through a LOT to keep Mike safe/ Unfortunately, he forgot that. Still, we will see how things progress.

Really, really sorry for triple-posting.If not MikexLucy, them going backk to being close friends would still be awesome. Though he probably doesn’t think so, Mike probably misses Lucy on some level.

No one understands him, hes always being used, and mistreated and I think most people don’t get him, or at least know why he acts the way he recently has.

He cares more for Sandy because he can open up to her without being put down or called a Jerkface, maybe if he knew Lucy’s feelings he’d be a little less cruel (as G.Arcantos said), then again he could be harboring stronger feelings for Sandy and Lucy seems less of an interest with her unstable time bomb going on in her angst region of the brain.

When has Mike ever even tried to open up to Lucy?

If he would just stop being so full of himself that he thinks he knows what everyone around him will do and say all the time, he’d probably be the the one people like again, as opposed to the one that’s always expecting to be yelled at.

I’m not saying he has to give up on Sandy, but just stop being such an insensitive ***** all the time… He was much nicer before he sent that damnable letter.

@Sciver - He isn’t exactly being an insensitive ***** to everybody, he just rejected a girl who’s treated him like crap for most of his life and now a lot of people hate him for it. Which for me just makes me like him even more, because it shows that even though he’s usually nice, he can put his foot down when he needs to.

And he probably would have tried opening up to her if she wasn’t constantly mean towards him. With the exception of like 2 or 3 moments throughout the entire series (usually involving him nearly dying) she’s never exactly been tender or loving with him. Is that her fault? Maybe not entirely, considering her trust issues, but you can’t blame Mike entirely either.

Ah, I was all for Mike x Lucy before this chapter, but now…I’m so conflicted.

But recently we’ve seen her opening up to him and trying to be a better person towards him, and all we’ve seen is a strange, savage kind of role reversal. The more she wants to get closer to him, the more he uses that power to hurt her. And he’s apparently decided that anyone who gets even close to getting in the way of him being with Sandy, he’ll do anything to get over the hurdle.

He’s a dick, no getting around that.

I think he could definitely afford to chill a little, but consider that his recent douchebaggery is him venting all of the anger he’s bottled up for years- hopefully though, he’s done with all of his venting, because I’d definitely like to see the two get back together. At least as friends, if not more Also, I really despise Sandy and Mike’s obsession with her. He hasn’t seen her in person for over 7 years, yet he’s willing to stay faithful to her when he really can’t know what she’s doing. In a way, it’s a ‘successful’ long-distance relationship, but what’s he really getting out of it other than the occasional phone call and broken promise? @*Sigh* I agree with your statement, and you’re dead on with the more confession, the more Mike uses it against her but the way I see it. He has only been doing this for a month or so (I dunno XP), and she has been doing this throughout their entire relationship. Sure, its rude to insult a female, but Mike isn’t gonna let her rule his world, hes more sensitive and takes things literally so I for one get him (like I’m not going to let the Sandvich rule our relationship but I of course wouldn’t go overboard like mister Maishul).
Thing is just like that movie Lucy, Mike and the rest of the gang saw… its too late to confess, she let it roll on for much too long for Mike to handle so he moved on, desperate as he is with the annoyances he calls friends around him (in his view), he settled for dear ole Sandy, the most lovable person he knows and also his first crush, sad, but reasonable.
But then again I might have hit my head, and now I’m trolling all over the forums in hopes of the next comic coming out early.
That is all my opinion though and I respect your input, in a way we’re all right until the devious Taeshi throws out some more candy for us little devils to eat (sorry Sandvich, bittersweet candy is delicious!).

@ Hoheh You have a point, she was very selfless in Confrontation, and she wasn’t only protective of Mike, she was pretty much standing up for everyone. Daisy was the only character who really acknowledged that, besides Mike.

But I think Mike sees even that event an example of Lucy’s over-dependency on him, that the only reason she stood up for him like that is because she needed him, not because she cared about him. That’s what’s really sad. Lucy could have gotten raped or killed. Mere dependency couldn’t have driven her to put herself at such a risk. However, that’s one event out of years of angst, and Mike seems to be convinced that the downsides of his friendship with Lucy outweigh the benefits. 3=

@ Sandvich, thanks for the detailed reply. I read your other ones too and you make a lot of good points. Mike couldn’t trust Lucy anymore. Back in middle school, he had faith in the caring personality that Lucy hid underneath. As the years went by, he lost faith that Lucy had any caring feelings at all, and he went to the one person that he always knew, who never mistreated him or gave him mixed messages- Sandy. Honestly, I don’t hate her at all. I feel sorry for her and right now, I don’t think I want to see Mike breaking up with her. He seems to be the one person in her life that actually cares about her feelings and what she has to say. She may be rich and have a great modeling job and everything, but what is that worth if you have barely anyone to talk to?

EDIT: Now that I think about it…. both the girls who love Mike, also depend on him a lot and would go through emotional chaos if he ever permanently left them. o_o I think that’s the biggest difference between Lucy and Sandy. They may both depend on Mike, but Sandy doesn’t hide her feelings with rude remarks and name-calling.

I really just want lucy to be happy. i know paulo will find happiness with or without lucy, despite them being ossum together.

You know people like Lucy (and this does not mean I hate her) are so self obsessed that they only care for themselvs I for see Paulo getting hurt by Lucy in the next few pages. I know someone like Lucy the way she acts around me drives me up the wall, the she says she likes me and blow her off. She wasn’t mean, she just only cared about herself.

I understand Mike has justifiable cynicism when it comes to Lucy being nice, but, as an educated young man, he should at least test the water and see if things really have changed. Not giving change a chance is as bad as making sure they don’t.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: The only thing that will get Mike out of this disturbing obsession with Sandy is if SHE is the one who does something.

The group could do all they want, but Mike for some strange reason cares more about her than all of them put together. But if something came up, say, a business opportunity that she can NOT refuse (just an example!), then Mike would have two options.
1. Get over it after all this time and focus on what he has HERE
2. Stalk/sulk himself into oblivion

From what I saw with the few pages that we did see with Sandy, she leads a pretty freaking busy life. Having a bf in Mike, while obviously on her list, may not be high enough for her to change her life to fit Mike in.

The chances of Sandy doing much are a bit low, unless she comes back. Daisy said she was the sort to simply have others help her. To be fair, making too many judgements based on her little screen time would be unfair. Yet another reason to have her return. Either way, I have confidence in a continued fun story, so it’s waiting time. *twiddles thumbs*

I just use whatever we have available. If those few pages are what we have to work with, then that’s what we have. More pages would be useful, yes, but what we’ve seen seems like a regular enough pattern in her life.
