God damn Taeshi, Another Path really was an amazing chapter, even non-canon. Screw all those people who ranted on and on how they just wanted to get back to the canon story already. The can’t enjoy a rare treat, seeing what could have happened is not something authors give to their readers

I’ve enjoyed this chapter more then any other in BCB, not because I’m a PauloxLucy shipper, but how much in a single chapter we see the characters grow. Lucy moving from rock bottom and seeing for once that Paulo isn’t just some pervy guy who wants to screw her, that he honestly cares for he. Paulo never left Lucy, he finally showed her how he’s always felt. Both found their peace although it took Lucy longer then Paulo, she finally learned to love him like he loved her.

There is only one downside to Another Path, and that is simply know that this could have happened, but will not. Nasty storm is approaching now, this may be one of our last sweet moments for quite some time.

On a much, much lighter note, shame you didn’t think of hair Lucy till after eh?

Paulo’s fur seems to have darkened just a little bit, and now I can see the resemblence between him and his dad a little more. And Lucy looks just BEAUTIFUL.

I love seeing them all grown up, and now I’m kinda hoping that the comic goes on at least to their graduation. So I can see how they’ve all matured and stuff. <33 Although you’re probably going to do that on the last page of this chapter, or…. or not, I dunno. *shrugs*

This is the saddest chapter of the comic thus far, and likely to be one of the saddest period. The mere fact that this is all a daydream of Paulo is the heartfilled, hurtful part. That he’s projected a sense of normal onto Lucy in the midst of a massive problem of the two to bring them together, and that everything just kinda fell in place for them.
That Paulo thinks Lucy is mental stable enough for all this to work out, that it’ll be that easy without Mike, Daisy, and the gang to be present/aware/dramatic, has made this quite a painful leg of the story.
I must say, you’ve outdone your Taeshi.

I had the exact opposite happen to me. I was with a girl I liked, and something happened, what it was I’m not sure, but she then decided to call the cops on me the next day, claiming that I raped her. Me, one of the nicest (and sadly, one of the most timid) guys anyone will ever know accused of such a heinous act. Life is ****ed up at best, isn’t it?

Technically this ending is fully possible, there are after all two more years plus the end of this one. Lucy’s not going to hate him forever, nor will Tess… Mike will probably get over himself at some point in there as well… but that just shows how much longer the comic is likely to run.

I just realized something, most of the time her ears are rarely sticking up, usually sideways or drooping down. I know it does stick sometimes but I wonder what “emotion” makes her do that…

I’m thinking when shes happy, but I dunno…

@ Straw Remember when Lucy first got the bow from her mother. It made her always know no matter what, she was, how should I say a female. Because she has different tastes than other girls and what not. My guess is since Paulo “filled the void” I think she doesn’t need it anymore. Or maybe she got too old for it and its more of a childhood bow. I wouldn’t be surprised if Mike didn’t wear his scarf (although he wears it because he gets cold easy, and his neck is wierd ).

How long was I gone?

Well, to say the least, I’ve bawled numerous times over the events that led up to this daydream and every part of my waking being is screaming in agony at how convoluted and wrong this path would have been for Lucy.

I must say you’ve done a very good job, m’am. I’ve cried so much I can’t even bring myself to cry any longer. You really are a good author and I can tell you this because I hate you in a good way. I never really liked seeing authors torture their characters but there’s something about you that separates you from the rest. Good show.

My heart goes out to Mike and Lucy. In my eyes they’re meant to be together and I for one cannot stand to see true love wither and die. It truly is the saddest of tragedies and I really hope Mike comes to his senses. This is the girl that was meant for him.

Also, about Lucy’s ears…
Cats ***** up their ears when they are interested, excited, or enjoy something. Basically when they’re happy.

Cats fold back their ears when they are upset, or when they’re trying to avoid loud noise. The degree of folding shows roughly how upset or unamused they are.

Cat’s lower their tails when they are upset as well, often they twitch it back and forth when they are angry (or excited), the more movement and speed, the more angry (or in the case of playing, the more excited)

A cat will raise it’s tail, usually with a slight cook near the top, when they are happy. The higher the tail, the better their mood.

Frightened cats will pin their ears back and wrap their tails under their thigh and around their leg.

Edit: Also, ears can be dropped slightly when in a very relaxed state… usually not the case though.

Essentially, Lucy is happy in this comic, and is rather forlorn most of the time in the rest of the comic.

I know I’m leaving a comment on an old story, but everytime I read this page, just this page alone, something about the last panel gets to me. Really touching.

Makes me wonder if there was a girl, while in school, not counting college, that had a crush on me. I hope it wasn’t someone I knew… Then again I wasn’t in any student’s interest if I recall back then, so I’m probably just overthinking again.

I will say for Paulo, he did make the right choice by constantly rejecting her when she was in a breakdown.

As much as I respect Paulo for manning up and rejecting Lucy while she was unstable, this page has made me a PauloxLucy fan.
