The Obama joke was meant to relate to the elections, yes. I think the “shake things up with Sue,” either related to the fact she’s a girl(please don’t beat me for saying, that’s all I could figure it out from), or I don’t know.

On a side note, I find this comic to be extremely humorous. I shall hold it in my heart forever.

I have to say that I can relate to this I find my self as Mike but not such a douché to Lucy. It’s a good comic. It’s not like me to like a romatic comedy like this but for some reason I can’t stop reading it. Souppy’s already confirmed above that “Shake things up with Sue” is not particularly meant to be innuendo, nor anything particularly bizarre. It’s just meant to be one of those cringe-inducingly bad lines that appear in political campaigns. Hence Lucy’s sneer and Sue’s extreme embarrassment, especially when McCain helpfully points out that she tried that one.

So if you see innuendo, it’s just due to your imagination. You might want to clean up in there.
