@ Oblivious: No, Sue and Jasmine are actually running for the same position. On page 3, Sue explicitly says she’s running for secretary. On this page, if you look closely, you can see that the paper Paulo’s holding up says at the top, “Join Jasmine! For secretary!!” Also Paulo mentioned a rivalry on page 4; that rivalry doesn’t happen if two people aren’t running for the same position.

McCain did mention on page 4 what a student president could and couldn’t do. I’m pretty sure that was in the context of the secretary having a vote on the student council and influencing the policies the president might put forth.

actually…the reality of the situation is that high school students seldom care about small issues with their school because most of the time their goal is to just go to classes and maybe some kind of extra-curricular activity and then get he hell out. at least that is how it was at my high school. Sad, really…Paulo’s popularity might win Jasmine this one..of course I don’t know the student body’s general intake on either of them but judging by the way they snuffed Sue in the last panel I can only imagine..
