Oh no, not him again! Looks like Paulo had a good idea to deal with Carter. Sadly I may have spoke too soon that every guest comic is good, but for this one I would say that this is ok. Its not bad but the art looks way too jagged, but the plot stays on track. For the standards I would give on another site I would give it a 2 out of 5, its ok but it needs improvement. I expect hate comments from many other people, but its my own opinion so just either ignore me or deal with it.

I’m not going to be snide and say “well then show me you can do better” because I know I have room for improvement. I took five months to practice my drawing from October through March, and I have definitely improved since the beginning of my foray into this type of art (as well as manga-style art, which I focused more on anyway) and there’s always room for improvement. I plan to take lots of time over the summer to solidify my work. In addition, all of the flaws in proportions I recognise and already know about. And to the absence of Carter’s tail in panel whatever number it is; Deal with it.

This comic wasn’t originally a PauloxLucy comic, and I maintain that such a pairing is not the primary intention of the piece. It was intended to kill Carter. If you knew me personally, you would know I have a tendency towards morbid thoughts. For example, I wrote a fanfic a while back that wrapped up the death of Carson.

I personally find this my favourite of the guest comics so far. No, the art isn’t the best, but I just like the way it flowed together, which is a friendly way of saying I was so happy to finally see Carter bite the dust.

My recommendations for practice then, is just to practice specific body parts and draw them over and over again until you can just blast the same looking stuff on the page without much reference. I recommend starting with the shoulders and upper torso, as a lot of people kinda mess up with those.

As for poses, just use reference pictures of actions shots and trace the relative body shape. Trust me, I don’t expect EVERYONE to be amazing at it (I have seen worse)

@Snooty Gent: That’s exactly what I’ve been doing. But I haven’t done so in a while because Real Life has gotten in my way. Like Finals, bicycling, Piano recitals/rehearsals (I’m in a trio), lots of small work, a Music Video (which is totally badass), a remake of Romeo x Juliet…so a whole lot of really awesome and not-so-awesome Real-Life stuff has prevented me from drawing. I haven’t even gotten a chance to draw on the back of old papers when nobody’s looking. That’s why I’m looking forward to the next few months.
