Trev: Mike kissed Sandy in third grade. In this flashback, Mike and Lucy are in seventh grade- it’s 4 years later. Sandy moved away and Mike kind of forgot about her until ninth grade, which is when they “got back together” (though they never really broke up)

Personally, I believe that Mike still does love Lucy. Those kinds of feelings don’t simply go away, but are just buried. In this case they are buried under frustration and anger, but they are there all the same.
Mike does love Lucy. He may or may not love Sandy more, but he does love Lucy.

@Kellins Remember, this is BEFORE he started thinking of her as a burden. From what was said 3 pages ago, this is when they were in 7th grade. Mike didn’t start thinking of her as a burden until a little before their trip to Acapulco, which was the summer between freshman year and sophomore year. He still clearly had feelings for her during the Confrontation arc, which took place during their 8th grade year.

Well that’s just something you don’t see everyday. I must slap him some time to get him to get his priorities straight and get together with his Lucy!
They’re good for each other and no one else!

And also, to everyone else, Mike is not intentionally cheating on Sandy here. This flashback is at a point where Mike and Sandy rarely send each other letters due to the busyness of their lives. Mike, at this point in time, saw Sandy only as a friend because of this. In fact, in chapter 15 (on page 13 I think?) he actually accepts the fact that he does not believe Sandy feels for him anymore, and he fully dedicates himself to Lucy. All of that took place right before the 8th grade prom. His feelings for Sandy were revitalized when he called her in chapter… 18? I think that’s what it was. Mike finally realized that Sandy was his girlfriend in chapter 20, which was FRESHMAN YEAR. NOT 7TH GRADE.

Everybody now; Awwwww…. Lucy’s eyes are adorable in the close up…all unsure and whatnot…so very cute!

The flow of the last panel doesn’t look quite right to me. I guess it’s the blanket covering up mikes body so I can’t properly find the line of action. Or perhaps it is that I think the angle of his arm holding Lucy is too high, and the hand on the bed too far back towards the center of gravity.

I know I’m complaining/giving constructive a lot of constructive criticism ( ) BUT, it IS nice to finally see them kiss. (again? I forget if they have before )

I remember this one girl, whom would always seemed to be dropping these hints that she liked me, like kissing me on the cheek, asking me for hugs, telling me deep thoughts, compliments, getting upset when I didn’t answer the phone right away. When over to her place one night, and she was very touchy feely, and flirty (changing clothes but telling me to turn around, offered strip connect four [didn’t have any other games, her mom didn’t her that kind of stuff].) So just she decides to start trying to tickle me for the forth time and I grab her by the wrists, and we go into this awkward pause… then I lean in… and she tells me to get away from her. Spent the night over, slept on the living room couch, and our friendship just died with that night.
