God speed, Janet.
Molly really is such a supportive sibling. Abbey’s really lucky to have so much support from Janet (I know her name now ), Daisy and Molly after all he’s been through.
God, Daisy’s evil side to her is so cute :3
Aenks January 25, 2012, 12:01 AM EST.
This is an awesome page. I love seeing Abbey blush. Keep up the good work.

Dying on the second panel.
Would be a perfect Christmas present for Molly.
Blue Sly January 25, 2012, 12:09 AM EST.
Touching panel Taeshi!
Just one thing and that’s the table/floor in panel five. The floor is angled down a lot and the table isn’t at the same angle. Try to make the the lines for the floor parallel with the table or vice versa. That is, if you were trying to make it perspectively accurate.
Kdebones January 25, 2012, 12:12 AM EST.
Please don’t get your spirit crushed this christmas chapter
Zany January 25, 2012, 12:13 AM EST.
Oh gosh the best part is, is my birfday. Such an adorable page~
Extendo Mags January 25, 2012, 12:14 AM EST.
Abbey just fell for the old ” I want you to wear this stupid sweater” routine, its funny that Daisy just only want to do it for the lulz.
Darf14 January 25, 2012, 12:14 AM EST.
If Janet is anything like me, she’ll get caught up reading comments, checking IGN, looking up things on eBay, and watching youtube videos she’s already seen hundreds of times but still make her laugh.
I know this comic updates at midnight, but where I live that’s 11 p.m. What time is it for everyone else? Just wondering…
Xenos January 25, 2012, 12:17 AM EST.
I can’t handle this! Winning all over the place! Ohman n’ I wish I could recognize half of these characters. I did spy Hella Jeff and a sneaky Sonic though.

Leo from VG Cats
Snowy from Slightly Damned
That guy with the super long eyebrows… He looks so familiar it’s painful
Gosh… So many I don’t recognize. I feel like a disappointment of a webcomic addict
PiMaster January 25, 2012, 1:01 AM EST.
What type of laptop is that, it has the pear i see that, but it also looks like a fruit version of pac-man?

Laufente January 25, 2012, 1:57 AM EST.
Im enjoying the positive turn this chapter is taking. At least its lightening the mood for the time being. All that angst was beginning to take its toll. Im sure there is plenty more ahead, but a fun party awaits! (I hope)
Strider, maybe its a… Pac’n’tosh!
Fenfir January 25, 2012, 2:08 AM EST.
Janet is me mums name. ^w^ already the character reminds me of her!!! Haha! I like this chapter! It’s really cheering me up and what not since it gives a lingering spirit of Christmas even though it’s been a month now! ^u^ I love it so much! Thankyou for making my day!

Seriously this is a great page Taeshi, and to anonnernigga, “if you can’t say something nice at least don’t make yourself look like a stereotype.” Hating on someone else just because you couldn’t do something like this is just sad.
Blarose January 25, 2012, 5:52 AM EST.
I’m guesssinggg…either they find their mum (which would be great) or they just accept that they probably won’t find her but love Janet as a mum in replacement?

anonnernigga: Only people who have serious issues go onto a random website to post **** like that. I suggest you see a therapist
And even Daisy laughs at Abbey’s sweater…..XD
Dear gawd, dat face in the the last panel!!!! *died of cuteness*
chickbabe208 January 25, 2012, 7:05 AM EST.
John Eggbert from Homestuck, Tycho from Penny Arcade, Cathrine from Sister Cathrine, one of the characters from Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff (Homestuck), Joyce from Dumbing of Age, Woo from Sandra and Woo, Cucumber’s little sister um… Carrot?… maybe? from Cucumber Quest,
Sonichu from Sonichu, possibly teddie from Persona 4 although I’m just judging by the zipper and it doesn’t fit into the theme of webcomic characters, Hitler from some webcomic I saw someone looking at in class like a year ago, and last but not least, Leo Leonardo III from VG Cats. Ah, the excellent references! Great job Taeshi!
Don’t bother responding to that troll’s posts, a response is all that he needs to validate his trolling and keep on being a no-life loser. I bet he cries himself to sleep. I wouldn’t read his posts either btw.
Indigo January 25, 2012, 7:07 AM EST.
I see the characters from Catina, Sandra and Woo, Doctor Cat, Homestuck…my day is made.
BackwardsTroll January 25, 2012, 7:09 AM EST.
I love Daisy. Seriously, she is just awesome, and I love her.
Abbey keep smiling. That permablush actually looks nice.
Janet is awesome, too. If there isn’t a page where they let her know how much they appreciate her, I’d be surprised.
As for the Webcomic party…. Taeshi, your head seems like an incredibly disturbing place.
can I see more of what it’s like inside?
Anonymous One January 25, 2012, 7:10 AM EST.
OMG Molly’s ears are up!
And Taeshii reads Precocious (oh wow). On the other hand, Raine dog sucks compared to O&M (Simpson was clearly on drugs when s/he wrote that).
7 January 25, 2012, 7:12 AM EST.
Trolls be trollin’! :o Anywho very nice page. I’m liking Janet more and more.
D(r)aGon88 January 25, 2012, 7:18 AM EST.
i don’t go to random websites to critique sh*tty art made by furry adoring emotionally exacerbated dipsh*ts.
I go to the ones chalked full of the blissful juicy center of socially crippled freaks who claim that webcomics are the only true comedy that exists while defending their sacred holy land from any strangers seeking to make ware of their obvious obsession to furred figures.
The irony here is that you say I need therapy.
People like you make the world this plastic f*ggot fest of virtual worship, you’re completely useless. Just kill yourself, because you’re beyond therapy.
anonnernigga January 25, 2012, 7:28 AM EST.
daisy’s expressions are cute… it’s obvious paulo’s filth rubbed off on her, though.
really, she laughs at something she wanted him to wear so much?
looking at that picture you made over the weekend… i don’t recognize anything in it.
indigo, where the hell do you see leo from VG cats in that image? i don’t see him anywhere… if he IS in it, why the hell isn’t aeris with him? she’s the real star of that comic.
Edit: wow, anonnernigga… you are the worst piece of trash i have seen for quite awhile.
you’re obviously worthless ghetto scum not deserving of life, nor do you deserve to have an opinion… do everyone a favor, and snuff out your own spark on a live internet feed so everyone can enjoy it.
nothing better to do than go around and insult people with emotional trouble, people who draw anthropomorphic animals… oh, i’m sorry, that word is far too big for you to understand, isn’t it?
“furries” as you so charmingly refer to them, that’s what anthropomorphic animals are.
i may be harsh at times, but i will defend innocent people, and you, as the lowlife garbage you are, have no right to even exist, let alone insult people doing nothing wrong.
apologies to veronica and oliver in advance for my outburst, but i cannot sit by and not go off at some unreasonable stain on humanity such as that thing who likes to think of itself as a person.
Thanatos January 25, 2012, 7:30 AM EST.

Is it just me, or I do not make sense of Abbey (cat) and his little sister being blood related to Janet (looks like a dog) or Did I miss something?
darnitmike January 25, 2012, 8:20 AM EST.
Thanatos needs to stop making troll accounts that he can argue with in order to look good.
15 January 25, 2012, 8:25 AM EST.
Why are the first two panels so small? There’s so much empty space on the top of the page… Consistency isn’t the issue, but there’s not nearly as much empty space in the mid-section and bottom-section of the page. Daisy really looks weird in all of them…She’s too damn small.
Aw, Abbey got her a corsage. Memories.
Godspeed, Janet…just watch and see when she finds out that Charlotte is dead. “Yo momma is dead, Molly!”
NintendoSegaSonyGuy January 25, 2012, 8:33 AM EST.
Aww, Molly’s so cute. And I’m quickly starting to really like Janet from these last few pages can’t wait for next update. Also d’aww, Abbey/Daisy cuteness is always good.
Lizzie January 25, 2012, 8:41 AM EST.
@darnitmike They’re adopted, covered first time we meet their adoptive parents. Birth family had some trouble, coming from their father, who went to prison at some point. Abbey’s got a bit of a complex about that bit. Molly’s been making presents pretty consistently for their birth mother since, so she can give them to her when they find her again. If someone else can find darnitmike the storyline where we meet Janet and her husband, I’d appreciate it, I’m at work and trying to post on the down low.
Draug January 25, 2012, 8:45 AM EST.
you honestly think that anthropomorphic is beyond my vocabulary and you take pride in the fact that you can comprehend words containing more than 8 letters? GRATS, hats off man, even if i didn’t know what anthropomorphic meant I would still be able to infer that it meant “human-like” based on the context in which it was used. Although someone as pretentious and smug as yourself wouldn’t give thought to that likely-hood because your head is so far up your own *ss that you’re giving yourself a colonoscopy.
BeeTeeDub, everyone refers to them as furries, as to discriminate against the foul group of individuals who are borderline indulging in ***********.
But the oh-so-adorable expressions magnified by the quirky off color humor is just SO original I can’t stop my self from exploding with cuteness!
Please, if you’re too stupid to see that this artist has no story telling capabilities or artistic talent then you could hardly call what I’m doing trolling. Yet stupidity never rests.
and to choose words like begone… wow, who the f*ck do you honestly believe in your right mind you are? You’re a scrawny little sh*t defending the only place you’re accepted with a bunch of like minded morons, deigning only to speak in delusional claims against my character of which are drawn only from the fact that I am aggravating a forum of furry loving *ss backwards incoherent f*cktards.
You represent all that is mindless and without question to whether or not having affection towards what you claim to be anthropomorphic animals is wrong and pathetic, when to me or any other person with a brain would say they’re up right dogs and cats with breasts and opposable thumbs and you people are f*cking looney.
…Avoiding vulgarisms and apologizing to your friends so quickly as to seem refined and too dignified to address the *scum* that your virgin tongue so painfully put it was almost too hilarious for me to keep myself from dying from laughter, shame isn’t it? Well go f*ck yourself you soft tailed tongue bound mentally diseased leper. Better yet just take a kerosene bath and drown in a pool of flames, you useless sh*t smeared father leech fat *ss.
anonnernigga January 25, 2012, 8:47 AM EST.
Do you have a Facebook? BTW, I would like to see more of those hand-drawn comic strips. Those were just plain funny! Thanks

I love the last 3 panels with Molly, “Im finding your mom for christmas!” “Mom?… ” just love it

Badddddddd. What happens if she finds out that their mother is dead??? Or mentally insane, or anything else that could be potentially heart retching for a little girl to learn about?

Awww, little Cindy Lou is in love with the Grinch!
Huh? January 25, 2012, 9:20 AM EST.
I’m so concerned that Janet just made Molly’s hopes skyrocket and—this being BCB, what with the drama and the very sad cats and such—her hopes will end up crashing very very hard somehow eeek.
Also goddammit Daisy just gets cuter and cuter
Deftinwolf January 25, 2012, 9:31 AM EST.

Grim January 25, 2012, 10:21 AM EST.
Well, it’s time to de-lurk.
In a roundabout way, I kind of agree with anonnernigga to a certain degree; webcomic fans can and do have a tendency to blindly worship a story with no real regard for the art quality, and like to repeatedly bleat about how ‘amazing’ it is, whether the art is good or not. It is also easy to sell a story with cuteness as a cover for all. I am also not a fan of furries (ferals, anthros, wolves with seven willyos) and despise anime, but can appreciate good art and give credit where credit is due.
I am an artist myself (tattoo apprentice, actually), and have always thought about dabbling in the webcomic scene. Mindless fans, terrible white knighters (who think you can’t defend your own work), irritating trolls and fan pressure (they want you to write THEIR story, by thunder!) tend to put a sour taste in my mouth, seeing as I have enough to deal with in terms of snotty people on a daily basis. I can handle criticism (and encourage it in it’s most brutal forms in fact…it helps me improve), but an army of sheeple who think you can’t seem to function as a human being/art machine without their endless pandering and rabid defending? No thanks, mate!
Taeshi, I’m not here to kiss arse. I’m not your friend, and I am not going to pretend I am. I’ve looked through your comic from start to present, and if you don’t mind, I have a few things to say.
First, your style has come a LONG way. Your early to mid stuff was very clumsy, painfully anime cliche, and read badly in terms of flow. Now, with this newer, block coloured, paper-cutout reminiscent style you show maturity and conscious independant creative decisions. This style suits your work down to the ground, and your composition is improving greatly. Your use of colour is now bolder, more confident, being unafraid to mess with the palate a little to show emotions in the characters or set a scene. However, as mentioned in comments before, your perspective needs help. Rather than picture references as suggested, why not ascend a tall building, or maybe an upper floor flat, shopping centre, anything, and practice drawing what you see below. This way you can improve not only certain geometric perspectives (as you can freely move around yourself to change the angle) but also practice drawing people/trees/animals from those angles too. I will say also that maybe as a change, you could try a traditional markers approach? It would be less ‘clean’ than the digital work (I’m biased, as I’m 100% traditional, and never use digital) but would add a genuine edge to it. Just a suggestion, though. The quasi-anime sthing you have going on here can get a little tiring…you’re obviously trying to phase out the anime influence, if only a little, yet you tend to resort to anime-styled expressions and mannerisms in a quickie aversion to drawing actual expression. If this is intentional, then fair enough, but if it isn’t, maybe you should think about addressing it. On a side note, the character’s ages confuse me too (being British, ‘high school’ ages don’t register with me). I saw that Paulo lost his v-plates with Jessica (another note, if your characters are based on real breeds, why is Jess purple?), though he’s only 15. Surely that isn’t legal, as isn’t she underage too? Kids will be kids and if that’s what you were getting at, fair enough. I also find some of the characters to be a little, well…shallow. Mike in particular seems to be a bit flat and his emotional outbursts seem to be pure plot device rather than actual personality. I also feel the same goes (though not so much so) for Lucy and Sue. I’m unsure at this point that this is something that could even be addressed, but maybe it’s worth noting (or not, as these guys are hormone-crazed teenagers with mood swings more potent than a fish in a cheese purse).
I could go on, but I feel I’ve written far too much already, and now this post I feel is very firmly in the tl;dr category. I hope you take these comments on board, and good luck with this comic, the cutesy love/hate fuzzball teen dramafest that it is!
Hammer January 25, 2012, 10:25 AM EST.
Daisy’s so sweet =3
Bioniclema90 January 25, 2012, 10:35 AM EST.
With regard to perspective, I don’t think a lot of people realise how it’s pretty worthless to suggest “just make sure to practice that” or “make sure the foreground is more distinct because it looks a bit flat” or whatever else. Those aren’t useful tips to any artist. The idea of using online tutorials is better, but Veronica doesn’t work very well with that kind of stuff. What she’d really benefit from is actual instruction (like the kinda stuff you start on in high school art class) and hopefully that’ll happen this year - but it’s harder than you think for a degree that mostly focuses on organic shapes, sketching, life drawing stuff.
anonnernigga, Thanatos is an idiot, but I don’t entirely understand what you are here to say either. There are a lot of people to troll in this comment section if you really want to stir up a reaction, but it bugs me and Vero and so we’ll probably delete posts like yours unless they seem like they’re something other than bait for the BCB Defence Force.
SuitCase January 25, 2012, 10:43 AM EST.
Daisy is adorable
And oh, Taeshi! I absolutely loved your idea on the webcomic party
So many webcomic I know and love
This made me realize something: I read too many webcomics ‘—-’
But it’s okay, since they are all made of awesomeness!
Emy January 25, 2012, 11:02 AM EST.
No, it’s not ‘worthless’, as you put it. The face value of critiques will differ from one artist to another, but I do believe that you’re wrong there by dismissing it entirely. I said I was an artist myself, so why would I post advice unhelpful to other artists? I got to where I am now artistically through practice, practice, crit, practice, etc. Tuition will only teach you so much, it’s better to rely on your own instinct and train it to your own ability. I took an animation degree at uni, actually…a lot of we did was sketch, life draw, location draw, and go over organic shapes, as you said. So, I’m sorry, but telling me ‘it’s harder than you think’ just won’t wash. Whatever I wanted to improve on that I wasn’t being tutored on, I went out and did it on my own….over and over and over again until it’s nailed. Online tutorials are helpful, but the artist who creates them tends to put some kind of a slant on them. They’re a good place to start, but only as a start.
It’s simple really; artists point out the faults in others and suggest means of improvement according to what potentially worked for them, or simply stating why something looks ‘wrong’, for example your ‘make sure the foreground is more distinct because it looks a bit flat’ comment. This tends to make the artist take another look at their work, and in turn be more aware of the fault in the future. It’s up to them whether they actively decide to change anything or practice bringing out backgrounds, but at least they are made aware of the fault, and that is the first step of making an improvement.
I can’t help but feel you’re being a bit narrow, and that’s disappointing really. I don’t know you, and I don’t know Taeshi, but only she would know what is good for her artistically, despite it being the right or wrong decision in the short term (which in art often happens when learning something new), strength and resolve come from the experience regardless. I will however, warn against long term tuition outside of the occasional life class or art group. It’s mostly ‘box-ticking’ and the room for actual creativity is somewhat limited; it only stretches as far as fulfilling a grade boundary. Just be aware of this.
What I will say, mate, with the utmost respect…there was no need for such a patronising response. I won’t demand an apology and I won’t insult you in some internet-tantrum fashion or anything like that, (and I can probably imagine that patrolling comments here must get pretty irritating) but please consider that possibly I may know what the hell I’m talking about. Just a thought.
Thanks for the response either way!
Hammer January 25, 2012, 11:17 AM EST.
exactly, i don’t think people realize that practice makes a lick of difference if you haven’t learned certain principles or styles. For instance, i’ve never recieved any training in, well, almost all of what they teach you in art class, the furthest i got is how to draw dimensions. However i’ve been lucky as i’ve been well trained personally by others on how to draw in anime style. So i stick to drawing in anime/manga style and only use city scapes for backgrounds if i need a background. As for a degree, i agree on that one, besides learning the style, there are tons of other aspects you have to learn within just one style of drawing, let alone the other styles. That said i have to say it’s amazing she can draw at the level she does with minimal training (if i understand what you are writing).
Long story short, you have to have the stone before you can sharpen it. Not to plug, but you could have her upload images to deviantart (if she hasn’t already, btw it’s free), some of the other submitters are college art students and the community is actually really helpful to their fellow artists. If you ask when you put your image up they can give you actual tips on tricks and techniques in a certain style. Just a suggestion.

this is so adorble and why is someone critizing your comic’s when you do your best?
Anima January 25, 2012, 12:24 PM EST.
deviantART is terrible for critique, strider.
Hammer, I’m suspicious of your cynicism about “long-term tuition”. I’ve witnessed such a positive year of learning for Veronica that I can only assume that anyone that is wary of formal education is either ignorant or had an unusual experience.
Either way, what I was referring to as “worthless” advice is indeed worthless in the context I was talking about. If you know something looks wrong, and the criticism you get is “that looks wrong”, unless there’s a little more instruction than “practice and make it better”, there’s not a lot of value to the comment. I suppose it can confirm for the artist that tries to get away with unnoticed mistakes that the mistake was indeed noticed, but it is very different from “Hey, you’re drawing collarbones wrong”.
I hope you understand why I’m making of an issue of it. This comic gets an inordinate amount of comments per page (though less recently! Everyone hates Abbey!) and so when Veronica draws a wonky looking car and says in the comments “Ugh, I have such trouble with cars”, and every tenth comment is “the car looks wonky”, it becomes something of a persistent issue. It’s not that these people are being cruel or mean, just that their laziness or lack of knowledge results in a pretty useless, undetailed “constructive critique”.
It would be so much nicer if people redlined the bits they didn’t like, or found specific solutions or hints or guides to the problems. Then the critique might be educational and improve that aspect of Veronica’s art.
SuitCase January 25, 2012, 12:30 PM EST.
Hince why i said it was just a suggestion, suitcase. It could help, yeah, you have pretentious “jerks?” on there, but i’ve found quite a few who will actually help and understand how it is to be a novice artist, (believe me my artwork sucked hard in the beginning, still does kind of) thus will give good tips and in some cases will email/link you, showing what they are talking about.
However, don’t get me wrong, nothing can beats formal face to face training for learning the styles, so don’t think i’m saying DA is a substitute for that. I’m just saying it’s a useful tool for practicing/honing your skills. But take it at what you will, i just thought it might help.
~edit~ wow i can’t say pri cks
strider January 25, 2012, 12:40 PM EST.
That’s actually how it’s always been for me when getting Crits. I’ll ask “What is wrong with it?” and they’ll say “The ripped clothing doesn’t look right” or “This and this looks a little out of proportion.” Then I ask “How do I make it better?” And the answer normally is “I ‘unno. It just looks funny.”
That doesn’t help and is what makes comments like that worthless. And there isn’t a tutorial for ever little artistic mistakes out there either. And not everyone knows someone willing to redline who actually knows what they are doing. So the most helpful things can be harder to find for some artists.

GoldenCappuccinoFlame January 25, 2012, 12:59 PM EST.
I agree, DeviantArt is awful for good crits.
‘Suspicious’ of my cynicism towards education? That’s a bit narrow of you, mate. People do have different experiences of formal tuition, and art is just one of those sensitive subjects that people are either very pro-tutor or very anti, depending on what field you go into, where you studied, how good your tutor was, whether there was a style bias, etc.
From what I can gather, Taeshi has had very little in the form of art tuition thus far, correct? If I’m wrong, do correct me, though assuming that is the case, of course there are going to be results of some kind now, having never been formally taught before in such a manner. However, in my experience, long term tuition (and I’m talking years’ worth) can be damaging as habits are formed that are very hard to undo in terms of technique. Creativity in a formal course are backseated in favour of grade criteria, and that comes from not only my own experience, but that of every other person I have known to go through art school (and there have been many). Who knows, maybe it’s a little different in the UK to elsewhere?
So, one negative opinion on formal tuition makes me ignorant? I see. I’ve had about 7 years of formal tuition (this covers 6th form, art foundation, university and personal artists’ tuition in studios), and 2 of those years were spent undoing the majority of the previous 5. My personal experience has been mixed, and I’m one of those people that tends to find it a little difficult to believe that creativity can be ‘graded’. Not to say that I did badly and am jaded towards tuition that way, that is not the case either; I personally went through a massive change of scenery from one art industry into another, and had to go through a huge technique overhaul to get back the mojo that art school tends to beat out of you to get the grade percentages they want. And, whether you like it or not, art degrees are next to absolutely worthless in terms of getting a job (but hey, if you don’t want a proper career in art, and you’re purely going for learning new things, then it’s all good!).
I would be more than happy to give a redline, but I have no tablet (don’t use one, I’m not a digital artist) and can’t draw very well with a mouse or touchpad. I also think that you and I could quite possibly argue all day about the ‘practice’ issue; we both obviously work in different ways, and I think that’s fair enough, and I’m willing to agree to disagree there. I personally learn better by taking what has been pointed out as wrong, and improving it by drawing it/or the next best thing from life (or from photographs if I really have to) over and over, then trying it on my own, rinse repeat. I see that Taeshi doesn’t learn too well this way apparently, but where’s the harm in sharing a few tips from one artist to another, eh? Even if it doesn’t work out. Sending a ‘direct solution’ isn’t as easy as it sounds as, like I think we have illiterated, people learn in different ways. Art isn’t an easy occupation and there are no quick-fixes or right answers.
I do agree about the comments, in my lurking I have seen many facepalmer-worthy comments from people who seemingly never read the page comment (it happens to me too with my descriptions!).

omg i see dr.cat, flora, awkward zombie, vg cats…housepets (i think?) there’s alot of great comics up there :3
As for the page i don’t see any issues that destroy the enviroments’ believability and i think that’s what really matters here.
The only thing id tweak are the chair in panel five (which feels like it should end a centimeter up when you look at panel 9 it looks like two different chairs ones longer than the other)
and honestly the anatomy of the characters looks great, no wonkyness there (and by anatomy i mean the established anatomy of the characters as cartoons)
moo January 25, 2012, 1:52 PM EST.
I think you have -as far as I read- one issue. You think everybody learns in the same way. It doesn’t work like that. Sure, tuition may not help you or many other people, but it does some help other people. I, for example, benefit from (good) tuition. Like my photography teacher used to say, “you have to know the rules to break them”. Practice of course is one way to improve but I can assure you, I’ve drawn different scenes hundreds of times but without proper art classes I really wouldn’t have known how to draw simple perspective.
And please, everybody else, stop feeding the annonydude troll. Really, just ignore him. He’ll eventually get bored.
Paw January 25, 2012, 2:37 PM EST.
No one pay any mind to anonnernigga, it’s easy to tell from the way he’s judging everyone who reads this that he’s impaired both visually and mentally.
This is a great page, I love Molly’s face. Every update has me on the edge of my seat. I’m always excited to read this comic and I’m sure I’m not the only one. The positives here are more than enough to make people like anonnernigga look stupid. Clearly everyone loves this, so why waltz in and hate on it? Everyone thinks he’s an idiot now. Good job, troll.
Riku January 25, 2012, 2:44 PM EST.
From one of my posts - “I also think that you and I could quite possibly argue all day about the ‘practice’ issue; we both obviously work in different ways, and I think that’s fair enough, and I’m willing to agree to disagree there.”
I understand that people learn in different ways, I was simply explaining my perspective. I also agree about ‘knowing the rules in order to break them’, it does help. However, in some art industries, everything is turned upside down, and a great deal of the techniques and philosophies forcefed to you in art school go straight out the window as they are useless, and you end up learning from scratch almost. But for base skills, tuition, as I said before, is a good start.

i’ve never used any name other than this one, and i absolutely HATE behavior such as anonnernigga’s.
even thinking of relating me to that piece of trash, disgusts the hell out of me.
besides, i always use the same style of typing, my ellipses and double-spacing is how i type all the time, it’s not something i can just go against, so screw you for that insult.
i never cared about “looking good” to anyone, why the hell should i? most people are scum who mistreat others no matter what, and people like YOU, 15… are exactly why i don’t trust people, let alone care about making anyone like me, but that doesn’t stop me from defending innocent people from scum, because i still believe in justice.
…even if my kind of justice involves the death of everyone unworthy of life.
now, to say something about the comic, i like molly’s expressions at the bottom… my favorite one is probably where she’s just staring at the game she’s playing, asking janet what she’s doing.
…don’t think i’ve ever seen her call janet “jana” before.
Edit: wow, oliver… calling me an idiot? for what reason?
then again, you even call your own girlfriend, who suffers emotional trouble, self-esteem trouble, and who knows what else… an idiot.
just another reason i despise humanity.
Thanatos January 25, 2012, 4:27 PM EST.
This has so many good/bad possibilities. On the one hand they could find her and it all works out.
On the other, they may not find her, they find out that she had died, or find that their mother purposely left them behind (or something like that).
Hope for the best prepare for the worst all I have to say reading this chapter.
@anonnernigga Get a life. It’s just a comic no different than Garfield or Farside or whatever you like. If you don’t care for it, just be mature and walk away. Then again, I am foolishly believing that a troll will be mature, but a guy can hope.

@Hammer- well said, you don’t have to be the hero ya know. You can join me in the bashing of sh*tty artists and their cult teenage followers. I suppose you’re too fond of being the sensible well mannered Brit…
you know, furries to us, would be like skinnies to animals… Just imagine for one moment a human with the body of a cat completely naked, behaving just as a cat typically would. Then you put that hellspawn in a webcomic filled with other human cats and dogs, then have them start meowing and barking at eachother. But it wouldn’t be finished there, you’d have to then visualize say 50-200 cats and dogs getting off to the poorly illustrated affections between all the retarded human faced nothin-but-skin balls *** naked cats and dogs.
That’s basically what’s going on here. I loathe it entirely.

Yeah, please stop responding to anonernigga, or anonnernigga. Seriously, they have ebonics in their name. I am not saying ebonics is bad (actually, I kind of am), however they are using a derogative term in their mane. They have no common sense, or any sense whatsoever if all they can do is rant about something they can’t wrap their miniscule primitive rope they call a brain around. I hope they take a missile to the face like Garrus, only not live through it.
Yes, I am aware of what I am typing. Godspeed.
Also, to the comic, I do love Janet as a person. She truly cares for those two, but I do think that if Mike and Lucy are at that party, Abbey might finally set Mike straight.

I’m not really going to justify most of it with an actual response. Crestofblahblahblah January 25, 2012, 10:05 PM EST.
…so wait a second, taeshi is actually ok with real critique?
So if someone did a quick mock-up in red for “fixes” (and they were acurrate), she might actually look at them?
I really don’t know if that’s wise, she might as well asked some of her student-friends what they think or run it by an appropriate instructor (if they have the time).
I went to academy of art university in san fran, though I’m on a hiatus to work out some financial issues (while still practicing, everyday). And the best instruction I got was to simply have the right daily regimen of drawing subjects, and reading about (and receiving instructions on) techniques and how properly execute them. The education though, without the will or intention of personal development, will usually be a hollow experience.
College isn’t a place to BE taught. It’s a resource so that you can teach yourself. If you aren’t doing any more than what the curriculum provides, you are doing it wrong.
If anything, going to art school WHILE STILL DRAWING A FRIGGIN COMIC is a pretty big (friggin) deal, and is a great example of what I’m talking about. Hats off to anyone who manages that.
I mean crap, look at the art change in MAC HALL! That guy meant business when he started going to art school, the comic really got massively upgraded. And in a sense, doing his comic probably kept him pretty motivated to keep at the whole school thing. It can be a real feedback loop.

She’s his foster mom, for how long she has been i don’t know if it was explained or not. But the weird thing is, she does seem pretty close to the whole situation of Abbey and his mother (the fact she’s been trying to find Abbey’s mother for a while apparently), so it could be that maybe she was a friend of Abbey’s biological family before she adopted Abbey and Molly.

at the beginning I thought “this is the usual stupid guy who insults everyone for no reason”. then reading your other comments, I understood that you are only someone who can’t change his point of view, can’t admit he’s wrong and lacks of humility.
all the most intelligent people I knew on the internet do not use insults. insults are needless.
you must never assume your’re right about something, if you haven’t tried to change your point of view and think about it rationally.
you say this comic is of low quality (but less politely asd) but you never asked the people here why they like it. it’s not that if you don’t like something, it’s objectively trash.
when I begun reading this comic, I didn’t imagine it could involve me so much. I’m a VERY sceptic person and I thought it was the usual comic full of cliches, but it isn’t. it gave me a lot of emotions which I never thought a comic would be able to give. it’s the truth, whether you believe it or not.
if you care for yourself and want to improve as a person, I suggest you to be less presumptuous. you will benefit from that.
those that you call “unworthy of life” can change their mind if you try to make them reason about their wrong opinions (if they aren’t too old or too fanatic about it). still, I wouldn’t say “unworthy of life” but at most “inadequate to live in a peaceful society” or something like that, ‘cause it’s not life what we have to earn, but other people’s respect and acknowledgement.

ugh why all the negative bs? i enjoy the comic as well as Taeshi’s art seeing it progress into something better then when she started. reading all the negative comments started by an ***.. i swear there should be a way to block them from the site any way, or block negative comments in general.. i’m an artist my self but i mostly use it as a hobby.
every one has their own opinion but i really don’t care for people who complain about how they want it to be done.. it’s not about you it’s about the story the Author is trying to tell in a comic form, mainly for all of us to read not critisize for the art style, hell! i’d draw a comic with cartoon-ish dragons if i wanted too but i wouldn’t because i wouldn’t have a story to tell..
mainly what i want to say is quit whining and enjoy the comic.
Kyla January 26, 2012, 9:59 PM EST.
Comic! Cute! Abbey! The prince in shining armor! Everyone hates him! Daisy! Evil [prostitute], just like that baby yoshi said! Everyone loves her!
@Kyla Well, you have to understand that stupid people have freedom of speech too, just like angry people and critics. They’re allowed to say what they want. And Taishi and Suitcase are allowed to delete their comments if they feel the negativity is baseless. But if they’re being constructively critical then it’s a little childish for them to delete. It would be like saying “I’m never wrong, lalala I’m not listening.”
Negativity gives the world color. If everything were white then we’d all go blind, and if everything were black we’d see nothing. And either way it would all be pointless because everything would be the same. Our universe is one of contrast, our society is one of contrast, our SPECIES is one of contrast. Good and bad. Happy and sad. White and black. Would you know what happiness even is if you did not know what sadness was?
Honestly the idiocy reaches levels here that make me want to vomit sometimes but an honest critique is harmless.
Me, I think this “anothernigga” is just a passing idiot. Just scroll past such comments with a chuckle and a shake of the head. Perhaps you could even think to yourself oh, trolls. I pity them, they must have such a sucky life if this is what they do in their free time.
In case you don’t know what I’m talking about… I never do, why should you understand me if I don’t understand me?
See! Spelled my name wrong! Senility, not Seniality! I’m completely crazy/hilarious/dangerous/FUNNER!
I’ve forgotten more than any of you have yet learned in your couple-o-sunny-decades! I’ve seen storms, ye young’uns!
Heed the old coot’s ultimate advice!
… Have sex. It IS the best thing to do. Except drugs, but, meh, those take more than they give.
Senility is a good excuse to blurt whatever the **** you feel like, eh?
Seniality January 26, 2012, 10:45 PM EST.
Dur hur, where’s the comic?
There, I’ve said it for you, you don’t have to say it.
Janet’s on a Pac-entosh.

Poor Abbey. He’s already laughing stock for Paulo in normal conditions—now, with that THING on… I hope there’re holes in the ground near Tess’ house, he’ll need them.

@Seniality, i do understand that. i just speak my mind and felt like it needed to be heard or said.. i know freedom of speech allows every one to speak what they want whether you like it or not.
i like what your saying and personally i just rolled my eyes at the comments then got annoyed from them from the same person going on and on. it just made want to pull a Lucy and punch them. i try to act like a lady and not want to make idiotic people a punching bag but that’s just my tomboy self speaking..
Kyla January 26, 2012, 11:32 PM EST.
Ah… freedom of speech.
“I disagree with what you say, but I’ll die defending your right to say it.”
You’re allowed to say what you want, anothernigga! We hope you find a more productive hobby than trollin “furries.” And making assumptions of one’s character and preferences on an arbitrary factor like the style of this webcomic. Ever watched “Loony Toons?” “Tom and Jerry?” “Animaniacs?” Anthropomorphic bunnies and ducks and mice and birds and rats and cats everywhere you look. Not just Furries read these types of webcomics.
Not that it’s wrong to be a furry. I think the art can be interesting and quite beautiful, granted of course that the erotica can be offputting.

I think one word to describe Daisy is just adorable. And i laughed when she laughed at Abbey, too.
As to the critiques in the comics about the angle, i think the angle is okay as it is even if the floor looks more like a birds eye view than the table. It’s not really that big of a mistake and Taeshi could spend hours trying to fix it but it wouldn’t change the effect of the comic
As to the unfortunate troll, (i think we all know what im talking about >_>) it would be best to just ignore him/her, (even though its extremely hard to resist, and i know, because i also wanna say something), they don’t seem to understand that we all love BCB, not because its a “furry” but rather because of the story. It’s always the story that makes a comic lovable. If his opinion is that its badly drawn, you could have the best drawn comic in the world and have a horrible story. This is just my opinion, i hope everyone will respect it. =)

@anothanigga: if you hate this amazing webcomic soooo much please tell me WHY THE **** DO YOU READ IT
Come on!!! If this is the best thing you can do in your spare time, I pity you. I don’t understand how can people say that they have nothing to do with their lives. I have so many things I wanna do, but it feels like I don’t have enough life for all of them!!
PLEASE, PEOPLE!!! Enjoy every hour, minute and second of this precious time in the world. Carpe diem. “Seize the moment”, everybody. Live life at its fullest.
@Seniality: thank you, O wise one! I totally agree with you.
