Awesome finally abbey is standing up to his jerk of a father! Although I am pretty sure abbey is going to get hurt but I bet he does inflict some damage that will cause an identifying scar on his face or sumthin.

You know what? Time for a panel by panel breakdown.
Panel one: so Abby’s dad has fled the scene, to his lovers house? Sort of makes sense. Now, why would he even tell her something happened? If he didn’t say anything, it wouldn’t be very suspicious. Or better yet, he could be all “I cannot stand to be apart from you, let us run away together!” or something like that. Now, the Mistriss looks rather calm, actually. She has the cartoon style ‘sleepy eyes’.
She’s also a legless ghost.
Panel 2: HE HAS EYES?!
Panel 3: let’s be honest here. Those faces look really dumb. The dads face is just like mild puzzlement, and the woman’s face looks like ‘ooh, i just made a good move in chess!’
Panel 4: that’s one well beat child. That dosent mean what you think it means either, it’s an expression for a well behaved kid with good manners.
Panel 5 and 6: my god, what is he, emotionless?! He just KOd his wife and was confronted by a child for KOing said wife. I mean, REALLY? As a matter of fact… Hey, Seth! “what?” get in here! Seth Rogan: REALLY??!?

Although, sadly, If he can beat his wife with no remorse, he’ll probably have no qualms about back handing his son. Mabye running him over too, If the car-to-Abby placement is convenient.

Getting to see Abby’s back story is really awesome too. It gives a lot of perspective to why Abby is why he is now.

Perhaps his neglect to his wife does not, in fact, transfer over to his son. The same is not true opposite. His abuse of his wife causes hatred by his son.

Well you should be boy, I would be going for much less direct tactics, at least until I was big enough to take him on. I mean good grief, getting myself beaten to a pulp will have very little affect on this guy, and certainly wouldn’t be good for myself.

While I commend his bravery in the face of risking injury by the same coward who just recently knocked the last person- a larger person- to give him trouble over his misdeeds, I must express my lack of confidence in Abbey accomplishing much. And he lacks much in the way of offsetting how un even the odds are, claws(maybe) notwithstanding. The jerk hit his mom with a lamp and he brought naught a weapon to help. If he somehow wins, Abe loses even more respectability…

i think so too, remember janet’s line earlier telling abbey not to blame himself (i’m paraphrasing). i think that this could be the case that he tried to take on his dad by himself (i’m sorry but i can’t put into words how stupid that is), his dad kicks his tail and gets away. So now abbey feels weak and like he was unable to do more to stop his dad, in other words he blames himself for his father’s possible escape. of course we could get a mind screw and abbey’s dad got captured, but i persobally think abbey was too emotional to do the smart thing and just call the cops when he found where his dad was hiding.

The part about not blaming himself might have been since he let the name he heard slip and his mom confromted his dad about it and got into the mess. That’s how I took it at least.

well after a session of quick scanning through the abbey centric chapters, there’s a very minimal mention of the father. he’s in the same state as the mother, just a few clues to his status but no actual statement to conclude anything. i think the father being in jail was a theory made by the readers during this chapter, but i don’t think it’s fact. if someone could find anywhere in the comic where it is factually stated that abbey’s father is in jail i’d like to see it because i looked and saw nothing.

I’m getting a hitch here. I really like how this has all worked out. Even before all of this happened Abbey has had an abusive past himself. From that chapter when Mike went over to Abbey’s house and was just about to hit him. Abbey controlled his temper when Molly stood out and said what she said. From memory that is.

Also I can really see where Abbey got all of his anger from, obviously from his father. Thank god he is seeing a counsellor otherwise he can turn out the same as his father! We wouldn’t want that would we?!

It imagines on how a sweet author that loves her fans to the point to see such a gruesome image. It can also tell on someone’s else childhood. The art is being used here, its more gruesome, and I believe that Taeshi is showing us something about her life. That she prefers to keep secret. Hmm…..

Well he just about killed his wife…How far of a step could it really be from there to beating one of his kids? That stutter is gonna cost you Abbey, shows you’re bluffing. Still, stand strong little guy! You’ve got a promising future ahead of you.

At least we all know Abraham goes to prison for a bit and as of yet hasn’t hurt his family again. So that’s a plus.

The images portrayed in a comic may or may not convey things that the artist experienced. But you have no logical grounds to base that assumption on. It’s just something you feel or thought up. It’s not appropriate to make insinuations about someone on their own page and get other people thinking the same thing in the likelyhood they get the wrong idea.

The real crime is the fact that the Father has to deal with this ********. Who the hell does Abbey think he is judging the father like that. It’s a real shame what people will do these days.

As it was said before Abbey’s father did nothing to him so I’m not seeing him beating up Abbey (sorry can’t renember the page where that happened, but I believe that it was that deleted chapter of Abbey “Moving on” that Taeshi cancelled). The light is these flashback pages is awesome and the characters (especially Abbey are really getting a solid background and becoming more likeble).

Anyway Abbey is probably going to get shoved aside and his father is going to tell him something chocking (just suposing I’m not a wizard that predicts the future ) that will mark him thus the apperance of his behaviour .

The color change in the panels is a little confusing, but definitely interesting. It switches from warm, to cool, to warm again, so maybe that switch is what’s throwing me off. Also the expressions are well portrayed, seeing as they really convey a lot with very few words.

Abbey is really showing a brave stance here, actually standing up to his father. It’s amazing how great of a character he is. He suffers with what his father has put his family through, but is brave enough to stand up to him, even at such a young age.

Holy crap go Abbey he better be sure to cover his face when his father uses the belt if he has one at all.

Oh no! The unfinished chapter said that the father never touched him, but Taeshi may change that. We never know. After all, this is her comic, and if she thinks its a good turn of events, than her word is law here!
I just hope little Abbey will be okay… a blow from a full grown man to a developing child will leave deeper scars than the physical ones will ever reveal.
At first, I thought Abbey was unreasonable angry. But now, I see why. It must suck, always worrying if his mother is okay, if Molly is happy. If you can ever be a happy family again…

In today’s news here is what I think about Abbeys decisions and my thoughts of the outcome

A: He will be beaten to near death while the girl his father cheated with tries to hit the man with something then call the police.
Or B:THE MAN WILL BE ****ING OWNED FOR BEING A CHEATING ****-**** TO ABBEYS REAL MOM AND NEARLY OVER KILLED BY BOTH PEOPLE THEN SENT TO PRISON AND BEATEN + RAPED BY LUST CRAZED PRISON MEN ,while Abbey is scared for life thinking he could’ve saved his mom from being badly abused by his cheat of a so called ****ing fa- no scratch that he is not a father he has to earn that title he dosn’t even deserve to be insulted and be refered to by that name.

I am so scared for Abbey right now. Though his father might have more of a connection with his kids than his wife, I don’t think he would be any less abusive towards them. As we can see, he is fine now but whatever happened then still gets to him and seeing it in our face gives me the chills!

It saddens me how cruel Abbey’s father seems to be, and it truely makes me wonder how Abbey’s mother got involved with him in the first place. I also feel so proud of Abbey trying to stand up to him, but I’m pretty sure he won’t be left unharmed, and I mean physically. I think we all see that it didn’t leave him well mentally.
In overall, I just really love seeing the development of the characters. Really gives you something to think about, no?

That’s usually what happens with abusive relationships, they start off fine and slowly become abusive which makes the person adjust and feel trapped or simply feel that is the way it always was.

This is an amazing chapter. It must really be tough on Abbey to confront his dad like that. Despite Abbey’s size, he still finds a way to be a hero. He is by far, one of the best and most deeply delved into characters that Taeshi has created.

Though, one thing I must point out, Taeshi. The lady’s legs in the first panel are gone! xD Just wanted to let you know that, so maybe you could fix it.
