@Mike - Maybe they were afraid that what they’d find would be too much for Molly to handle. What if their mom was a drunk or druggie - or was brain-damaged from whatever her husband did to her? Abbey may be able to handle it, but Molly would be crushed. They probably want to protect Molly from anything like that until they know exactly what they’re dealing with.

Its sad for her not to come but it would make sense if their mother has something bad happen already to her which is heartbreaking if Molly heard for a young age.How sad

What an amazing friend Daisy is. I’ve been lurking and reading for over a year, and while I like Lucy, Mike, Paulo, and all the rest, Daisy is my absolute favorite. She’s the best friend anyone could wish for. I hope all of those kids understand how fortunate they are to have her. I’m glad Abbey seems to know how lucky he is to have her for a girlfriend.

oh my god! you just remembered me that this is the same day in which sandy arrives! the party was on a thursday, right? the day in which “december” took place was exactly a week before the party and mike’s mom recorded sandy’s arrival on friday of the following week, that is the day after the party! but this is the day after the party! so the next chapter will take place partly contemporaneously to this part of this chapter!

I think they know she knows what’s going on, but still just want to shield her. It’s all well and good if she goes with them, but she still seems a bit… fragile. I would think it could still do some serious damage to her if she sees her mom and it turns out she’s in a straight jacket laughing maniacally repeating the same words that her ex-husband told her over and over again before they got married drifting between the illusion that everything is alright, and that it’s the kids fault for ruining everything. Dunno, just a thought.
