So she’s dieing? or did die and this is a flashback?

JustSomeCritic April 6, 2012, 12:10 AM EST.

Comment ID #213728

Ah. Perhaps a cracked skull from being bashed over the head, or maybe an artery or something got messed up in the attack.

This got morbid fast; if she dies, Abraham Sr. might get tried for murder (after all, the doctors trying to extract the bullet from James Garfield did more damage than the actual bullet did, but the assassin was the one tried for murder), and if Abbey find’s that to be true, then he’ll likely feel responsible for two deaths.

Well, I suppose we shall eventually find that, unfortunately, cats don’t have nine lives. Particularly in this universe. D:

CynicaIdealist April 6, 2012, 12:13 AM EST.

Comment ID #213731

JustSomeCritic: The sepia tone would indicate that this is another flashback.

Comment ID #213732

I have some experience in medical study, and the fact that Abby’s mom is getting surgery is either a very good thing or a very bad thing.
Very good thing: a doctor usually wouldn’t waste time, money and resources to do surgery in a dieing person. It’s pointless, doing a surgery only to have the patient die of something unrelated. So, getting a surgery usually means your gonna live.
Very bad thing: however, the surgery could be one for actually saving her life. With no IV scans or anything like that in the background, we just have to use what we have: isolation care and blunt force trauma to the head, possibly with lacerations from the lamp breaking. This could be anything from minor skeletal damage to a chunk of your brain being knocked off, there’s just no way to tell at this point. However, getting a surgery is always a good sign in this way: the doctors don’t think your worth giving up on yet. That means they think with the propor treatment, you could make a rebound.
Of course, there’s always the possibility she dies due to complications during the surgery, in which case: DAMN YOU SCIENCE!

Ai……
I still wonder if she had some prior illness, but if not then I suppose something vital was ruined by the head trauma…… :\

although I can at least toss disablement out the door with all the turning she’s doing…… ( granted we mostly just see her head, but I doubt that’s it. )
I really am trying not to rip my hair out with the painful slowness D : <3

Hmn one things for head trauma can go either way. Even the surgery to help the problem can very well be life threatening. I actually knew a guy that died from TBI “Traumatic Brain Injury” about six months after he got back from Iraq. Brain injuries are no joke.

It’s what a mother needs, to know her kids are gonna be okay. I wonder how much time all of this takes, from the confrontation with his father, to the foster home, and her death. Here’s hoping the next strips show how things went from here up to her passing! Abbey’s story is always so interesting, I’m happy you’re really developing it, Taeshi.

I dont mind seeing the serious side of BCB as a matter o’fact that is kinda what makes it so great! My only issue is the drama drags on far too long with Monday,Wednesday,Friday updates.
Drama sections need to be shorter or updated more often. A slow drama part is just a downer man :/

I think one reason why I keep reading this and possibly why others do, is that they’re waiting for this bright light at the end of this/these dark tunnel(s), but damn if it isn’t one long tunnel. How long can one run through despair before reaching hope?
As for Abbey, I can feel his pain(s), but I think he needs to start choosing his battles, instead of trying to fight all of them. It’s great that he fights for a just cause in opposition to someone who doesn’t give a crap, but he should be careful not to become the beast he set out to slay.

I wonder if anybody here can relate to Abbey. However, in truth, most people have their own stories to tell. I’d really like to ask- who here has recently attended a funeral. I did yesterday. You know…as the days go by, I realize that which each passing day I grow closer to death. It’s the same for each and every one of us. I question the meaning of death itself. It’s beginning and end. It’s a shame when loved ones have to die, but you learn to live with it.

I feel so sorry for Abbey’s mom. She has to have surgery and make sure her kids are FAR away from their father. Oh poor her. Surgery is definitely NOT something to be happy about when your kids are going to see you RIGHT before it. I don’t wanna see Abbey upset, nor Molly. I hope that their mother makes it, because those negative comments are NOT helping her! So AT LEAST be kind and watch as she grows confidence. She deserves to be cheered on not booed and discouraged. She is pretty much dying and even saying that word feels mean! She is discouraged by what you people say to her and alone when her kids aren’t there. Abbey deserves to see his mother happy, not crying because she thinks she may die and not be able to take care of her kids! Make her happy with encouragement and cheer her on. Help her through the toughest times to be able to survive. She deserves to be told she will live. :)

I’ve always wondered about Abbey and why he’s so passionate about protecting those he cares for, and I’m glad we can finnally see why he’s the way he is- quiet, protective and an extremely well-developed character who is among my favorites. Of all the comics, this arc has to be my favorite. I wonder what happens next… Well, tommorrow we can find out! I just wish we could have learned a little more about Charolette.

What a loving mother. It would seem that she planned that Abraham would try something like that, so he’d get arrested and her kids would go to a loving foster family. And with that, she can leave this plane of existence with absolutely no regrets. I’ll bet there’s going to be a very special place for her in Heaven.

Abbey and Molly are very lucky to having mother who’s willing to sacrifice so much for her kids. And Daisy is lucky to have that same person as a future mother-in-law.
