Okay, I guess when you put it so bluntly, yes, Paulo is a bit of a jerk. But when he tries to be a good guy, people always expect the bad guy. I understand you should always try to be the good guy, but it’s so much fun being bad sometimes.

Remember, Lucy doesn’t really open up to many people, safe for her pets. So it isn’t a surprise that when she talks to other members of her family (Jordan, Sam, etc) about her friends, they hear Lucy like how we would normally hear her, or how her friends would normally hear her: Full on snark and (for the most part) accentuating the negative about peeps.

Which brings me to wonder why people are hating on Jordan. All Jordan has heard of Paulo are the…questionable…things that he’s done in the past, so is it really a surprise that he’s not letting Paulo in? I can’t blame him, really; he’s looking out for his younger sis when she is NOT in the best of places atm.

Paulo a good friend in that he is really is trying to do what is right and talk to Lucy about what’s up, but his reputation as a lech has REALLY caught up with him.

I love Jordan I feel like this is the most he’s ever said in any of the other chapters, he’s so underrated ‘cause nobody pays attention to him!

there’s a reason why abbey couldn’t become a bad person: he didn’t want to be like his father and so hates abuses. he cannot abuse people in any way (he only has a bad temper, but he always has good intentions).
I wouldn’t exclude that augustus may be an orphan. did you see his bedroom in “askbcb”? and also, do you remember how degraded the town in which he lives is? it’s one of those places in which, if you aren’t with the bullies, you have good chances of being oppressed by them every day. and if you join them, with time you absorb their manners, inevitably.

lastly, you shouldn’t attack the character.
taeshi is the only one who knows exactly how the character is, so if she makes him look like a good guy (or at least, a “not that bad” guy), the reasons can be two:
- she knows exactly what she’s doing and we will see in the future how he could change like this;
- she doesn’t make him behave realistically, so she’s failing with him.

so, for example if you think his behavior is strange (at first he’s a manipulating bad guy, then he gives important advices to “his enemies”), then probably you should say “taeshi, I don’t think he behaves realistically\I don’t see how he can be a good guy, seeing what he did in the past”, not “he should be impaled”.

I hope I made clear what I think.

If memory serves, back during the december chapter. it was a small dispute (only a few comments long) and honestly i don’t remember what started it. I think i said something about him being manipulative (although i think i used “stronger” terminology) and it spiralled from there.

to bad for Paulo his idiot moves he’s done in the past are one of the things that is keeping him from convincing Jordan to let him in. to bad Jordan doesn’t know about the good things Paulo has done no mater how few, then again Jordan probably only knows about Paulo from Lucy’s complaints and i have my doubts she would complain about most of his good deeds. i also find this to be a good example for how the things you’ve done in the past can come back to bite you in the ***.

Lucy’s brother is best

Poor Paulo, but I’m really not surprised. I don’t take Lucy as the type of person who goes on rambling about all the happy-sappy goings between her and her friends.

Especially if you consider a lot of the crazy situations they’ve all been through. In Paulo’s case for example these are the first two that come to mind:
1. Lucy going to school while being extremely sick and having to be practically saved by him, and 2. the time where she tried to throw herself at him in order to get over her emoness for Mike.
Yeah… those are probably not the sorta thing you’ll share with your family, even if your friend’s loyalty really did shine through.

Now complaining about your friend’s stupidities… that is something you can always share. lol So yeah, I think it makes sense that this would happen. Maybe Paulo will learn a lesson from all this… that maybe he should worry a bit more about his reputation since you never know who might catch wind of it.

I think you’re confusing status with reputation. Paulo was worried about his status. He wanted to be the cool guy. He decided the best way to do this was through getting with as many girls as possible… which shows he obviously didn’t put much thought into his reputation. He only cared about being the cool guy again. His status.
