I’m honestly not surprised that Augustus’s parents are trash. Before when Lucy was in the library with Mikey he was asking her if she had a safe place to live and things like that and how she shouldn’t be complaining. I’m honestly expecting him to live in a bad neighborhood considering the fact he also mentioned having somewhere safe to go to. And the fact he was socializing with the same person who mugged Lucy and her friends.

That’s saaaad. That must be why he’s messed up, or in technical terms, sociopathic. And no, sociopathic probably doesn’t mean what you think it does.

Wow. Augustus has got it rougher than anyone else in the comic at the moment. I can’t help but think it hits him hard. When he mocked Abbey about how he’d turn out like his dad, I thought he was just heartless. But it seems that’s just what kind of attitude he learned by himself in this situation.
It doesn’t excuse what he said to Abbey (or did to Daisy), but it explains quite a bit. :<
