Good, there we go! Someone telling it like it is! This is a lesson learned that you shouldn’t say extremely biting things unless you mean them. Of course, things happen in the heat of the moment, but that doesn’t make it a good or an excusable thing by default. Now Mike, sit down and think about what you’ve done, then see if you can apologize again. And realize how much words hurt, and how your last apology was like a bandaid for a wound the size of Mt. Everest. You played lightly with her emotions in a game of hardball, and see where it got you.

So none of them know that he apologized to her. Or that she turned him down all those years ago. There’s so much history between these two that it really is frustrating when characters within the story play the blame game (much like some of the commenters *cough*).
Yeah Mike was a *****, but Lucy can’t escape blame for putting things on him he didn’t want to deal with. The guy is finally happy and in a relationship, and all of a sudden his first love confesses to him. I don’t think it takes a genius to figure out how conflicted he’s been, we’ve seen that time and again. The problem is that the only people who know all the back story are Mike, Lucy, and any readers who’ve finished the whole saga to this point. Stop pointing fingers and sit back for the ride, this is both of their faults and they’ll bear it how they see fit.
While I do find it unfair the way Mike is treated by Lily here, if he’d open up and tell her the whole story it would solve so many problems. That’s the issue with secrets, they always come back to haunt you.

Also, about her dad- Taeshi’s mentioned that her dad is a racecar driver….quite a few times. He and Lucy’s mom are still married, and happily so.
@Exodustrial: *Applause and standing ovation*
