Something similar to this does exist. It was inspired by a pretty amazing installation that Souppy and I saw at the Museum of Old and New Art! It was based on a real device used in Australia very briefly. We’ve seen Philip Nitschke (creator and operator of the machine when it was used) speak before. It’s such a shame to have heard of how many people just can’t change their mind on euthanasia.
So does this mean David is gonna be gone forever
boop September 26, 2013, 1:00 PM EST.
Interesting, to say the least.
some guy September 26, 2013, 1:01 PM EST.
man that’s pretty morbid.
sen September 26, 2013, 1:01 PM EST.
No this can’t be the end for david
TheGentleman September 26, 2013, 1:02 PM EST.
Think we are going to have ghost David now?
Chrisd765 September 26, 2013, 1:02 PM EST.
Wow… Daisy. That’s a really interesting interest you have.
Twoplusfiveequalsseven September 26, 2013, 1:05 PM EST.
That is not a very fun interaction station.
Blue fox September 26, 2013, 1:06 PM EST.
Sue looks a bit disturbed by what is going on,
especially after what happened to Lucy.
Hopefully more light will be shed on this tomorrow.
BluJax September 26, 2013, 1:07 PM EST.
Also, David can’t die. If he did there wouldn’t be anyone to love Sue!
Twoplusfiveequalsseven September 26, 2013, 1:07 PM EST.
I’m really confused about what direction this chapter is supposed to be taking. It kind of just seems to be going off the walls and not really landing anywhere. Then again it’s only the beginning of it
MissShellGiraffe September 26, 2013, 1:10 PM EST.
Meanwhile, Abbey feels a shiver run up his spine
Liust September 26, 2013, 1:13 PM EST.
Well considering Daisy’s going into a career as a doctor (at least that’s her current interest), it makes sense that she has some kind of interest to euthanasia. Still seems a bit creepy for how her eyes shine at such a procedure. O_o
Dudeler September 26, 2013, 1:21 PM EST.
The next page will be David answering the phone and someone saying “7 days”. Calling it.
Gabba September 26, 2013, 1:32 PM EST.
@Chrisd765 Oh god, ghostnappa song is now in my head. Thanks for that.
I am intrigued as to where this chapter is going and what Daisy thinks of euthanasia. and such
notsomeonenortherealsomeo September 26, 2013, 1:34 PM EST.
Daisy is a wee bit too enthusiastic, especially considering euthanasia is almost exclusively meant for terminally ill people, be it something like a doomed cancer patient or some old geezer whose immune system is shot due to old age.
Piro September 26, 2013, 1:46 PM EST.
Wow. The look on Sue’s face says it all for me.
lol, how many ways can a lethal injection for euthanasia end?
Last panel David is hilarious too. Fare thee well, David. Fare thee well…
Blank On Purpose September 26, 2013, 1:55 PM EST.
Abbey’s political views are starting to rub off on Daisy. Suzie’s obviously trying to comprehend this.
IS WATCHING YOU!
Daisy suddenly reminds me of that one girl from Bones, only cuter.
David, you should have just walked away. Now you are dead , what a shame. PAULO’S NEXT! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHH oh, whatever…
Hawz September 26, 2013, 1:55 PM EST.
Oh my gosh that’s so sad to see David cry….
Just a Fan September 26, 2013, 2:38 PM EST.
@notsomeonenortherealsomeo damn now I have to watch TFS again.
Well I suppose last chapter we had the possibility of bringing life into the world, now ending life. Will be interesting to see where this goes.
Chrisd765 September 26, 2013, 2:40 PM EST.
“Euthanasia is such a fascinating idea!”
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand exit stage right

Sue’s face in panel 5
She’s all like “well then…”
Bluesky September 26, 2013, 3:16 PM EST.
I love that he’s clearly hitting what looks like it should be ‘No’ on the prompt and it’s like “Well, you’re dead anyways.”
Damien September 26, 2013, 3:18 PM EST.
In what way is euthanasia facsinating
DarkCrystal828 September 26, 2013, 3:49 PM EST.
;3: “You will now be given a lethal injection.”
¯\_(ツ)_/¯: “You are now dead.”
: “I’m gonna beat this s**t!”
: “It always ends the same way…”
: *stares at Daisy*
: *still in slow motion from last page*
: WHY DOES NO ONE CARE THAT I’M DEAD?
EVERYONE: YOU’RE NOT DEAD!
Hawz September 26, 2013, 4:04 PM EST.
Haha, Daisy, you rascal… Making jokes like that… It IS a joke, right? RIGHT?!
Lord Lemmy September 26, 2013, 4:09 PM EST.
I have an idea of what kind of doctor Daisy wants to be…
Hawz September 26, 2013, 4:10 PM EST.
“Well, it was nice knowing you guys..”
@Taeshi: After reading the article and rereading the page, the last panel brings a sick feeling to my stomach…
David is much more imaginative than I have gave him credit for.
Hawz September 26, 2013, 4:27 PM EST.
Daisy you sick frick!
Gate-senpai September 26, 2013, 5:23 PM EST.
David dead?……My hopes have been realized!!!
(I know that sounds harsh, but I’ve never really liked the guy…or Paulo for that matter)
DeathofInk September 26, 2013, 5:33 PM EST.
Daisy just gained an ungodly amount of creepy points in just two panels…
Follarch September 26, 2013, 5:51 PM EST.
don’t worry, david will enter the Game and will become the new Composer, thus becoming able to return back in the RG at will.
boh... September 26, 2013, 6:09 PM EST.
Well i’m distubed
JustSomeCritic September 26, 2013, 6:18 PM EST.
I totally understand how Daisy sees this as fascinating to be honest.
It’s the human brain making a decision to end it’s own life, and since Daisy wants to be a doctor, the theological and biological aspects of such an act are fascinating, as well as terrifying. Also, as a doctor, she should want her patients to not suffer, be entitled to a choice and to have as much dignity as possible.
I also think she may also in part be referring to the actual exhibit, rather than euthanasia alone.
Also OMG Daisy is too cute! I love her redesign!
Dolphinbread September 26, 2013, 6:18 PM EST.
so basically Daisy is growing up to be a doctor and she’s interested in euthanasia
more like Dr. Kevorkian
KiraDood5 September 26, 2013, 6:37 PM EST.
No David! don’t die!!!!
….David is dead, Sue is hysteric and Daisy is creepy as f*** I’d say this page is one critical after another
Flying Potato September 26, 2013, 6:42 PM EST.
Daisy…that reminds me of doc Kevorkian.
Ckmwt September 26, 2013, 6:44 PM EST.
Chinatsu September 26, 2013, 7:02 PM EST.
It took me forever to realize the sick irony, David is a dog.
@Those_Confused_with_Daisy: She wants to be a doctor, euthanasia is related to some kinds of doctors. Daisy said it in a creepy way because she was too interested in it to realize that what she was saying was strange. People in autopsy, and other kinds of forensic anthropology can act like this, according to some stereotypes. That one girl from Bones, and Ducky from NCIS sorta act like this. This is only my observation from the comic, if anyone thinks they have a better explanation, feel free to make it known.
@Taeshi: I really hope you don’t get any backlash from this page.

“Euthanasia is such a fascinating idea”
With that smile on her face.
We’ll know who the next serial killer in this series will be
naAr September 26, 2013, 9:36 PM EST.
Welp someone started using my name. Since no one is commenting on the elephant in the room of euthanasia, I’ll start with a friendly convo
I personally find euthanasia strange and a little unnatural. The optimist Daisy loving it felt a little out of character, but I’m sure she has a devious side.
I know the terminally ill would be intended use it, but what about depressed patients? Is it fair to allow terminally sick, but not allow the healthy who simply no longer have a will to live? Aren’t both their own ways of suffering? One physically, the other mentally.
Speaking as someone with depression, I find it rather awful that other people might let me indulge in my darkest moments, and even might give me the computer to do it when I show up in an emotionally vulnerable place. Deep-down, when the real me resurfaces from the mental affliction, I really do want to go on with whatever my intended life span is meant to be. The will to live and progress is a part of what it means to be human.
It brings up a lot of tough questions. I personally don’t think its a good idea to start traveling down that road. Curiously, @Taeshi I take it you were for this idea?
PyrotheEmber September 26, 2013, 9:40 PM EST.
@Rubberbandball Shut it McCain
twoplusfiveequallsseven September 26, 2013, 9:49 PM EST.
OH NO IT’S DAIVD’S BUS TRIP PAGE just kidding funny taeshi funny
Carindel Girl September 26, 2013, 10:25 PM EST.
@PyrotheEmber Actually, it would REDUCE the number of suicides if done properly. IIRC, Switzerland allows for euthanasia, but they only allow you to euthanize yourself after consulting with three psychiatrists who all give the go-ahead that you are completely sane, are not suffering from anything else that would make you want to commit suicide, and still want to die.
As a result, it actually reduced the number of deaths in Switzerland because many people who applied for Euthanasia were caught by the psychiatrists as having undiagnosed cases of depression, anxiety, etc. and instead were recommended to go to doctors to get the necessary help. If a depressed person tried to get euthanized, he’d be rejected on the spot specifically because he’s depressed.

Catz October 9, 2013, 10:27 AM EST.
@PyrotheEmber - as someone with bipolar, I’ve gone through several very low points, maybe even suicidal points, in my life. But my understanding of euthanasia was that it would be far too complicated to consider using it in the cases of mental illness.
I always felt the intention (certainly with Dignitas, anyway) was to allow those with sound mind, but with chronic, unmanageable pain or suffering, and with the guarantee that it will continually get worse, never get better, or be terminal. I think that’s why it’s not legal over here (in UK) yet. There are so many legal loopholes.
Despite the weird places I’ve been, I think it should be peoples’ right to choose when they want to die, if they are suffering and will never stop suffering. Doctors who deal with patients who are depressed know that there should be light at the end of the tunnel, no matter how many years it takes.
