I had a partner and we were working on the paper for a little more than a week. Then i got sick and was out for two days. Because of that, my teacher told my partner to work on her own and for me to do my own paper. I didn’t hear about this till last night FML!!

@ Dirt: Not really. He has a job and he can save up for it eventually, and if he can find a legitimate work-study program and scholarship set he’ll be met halfway at least. In regards to scholarships, the money is out there already. If you don’t ask for it, it’s going to go to some privileged socialite fuck instead who could blow his nose with it and not miss it. My education dont cost much by collage standards: 15,000 and the school only takes about 4 monthes to complete (if i get all good grades) but it takes 2 years apentinship to aply for the test for the lisense

I can see exactly how much stuff there is out there, but I look past just the jobs. There are too many things to experience for me to burden myself with a career with no flexibility which I can never leave. It may sound weird but I think a college degree is basically a death sentence. You are saying to yourself, “Alright. If I can’t find a job in this field, I will never find a job, and if I can’t find happiness in my job, I will never find happiness.” This is just my opinion.

@ Lark: Here’s what I’m thinking: there are a lot of morticians around here as the inhabitants of Deep Elm are constantly murderfucking one another. If you want an apprenticeship, I think you should call one of the mortuaries and outright ask them if they have any apprenticeships available. I mean, you have absolutely nothing to lose by being upfront and asking them, right?

@ Scotch: It doesn’t follow that if you get a degree in a field that interests you that you will never be happy unless you get exactly what you want. For me, since I started taking the courses I’ve learned enough about the field to know where I could be happy AND make some decent cash. It’s one of those things you don’t find out until you’re actually immersed in the material you love. But you have to decide what interests you first. Life is a death sentence. No one makes it out alive. There’s absolutely no point in letting that cripple you.

I know exactly what interests me. I want to do something in the medical field, but it takes at least four years (really more like eight) of college to get anywhere with it. It’s easier to get a job with the Red Cross. Other than that, everything interests me. I just don’t really wanna hold myself down, and I don’t care if I don’t die old and accomplished.

Believe it or not, I am incredibly hopeful. I will love my life no matter what, but I prefer flexibility.
