Why is it that after I bought a mechanical keyboard, I suddenly stopped feeling the need to game? Started up Resident Evil 5 last night, sat there at the opening screen for 5 minutes, and shut it off.

Yet at the same time, playing a Gamecube hooked up to a TV tuner and a resolution more than than twice what it’s capable of putting out somehow seems more enjoyable to me.

Nostagial, plus there are few new games that instill a true experience of enjoyment past the 1st completion of the game.

indeed outside of the fallot games of late and the games of bioware I find most games dont really need more than one playthrough, fighting games being an exception of course though on a more casual level

Oh, I was having immense fun playing RE5 until I got my keyboard, and then I suddenly and inexplicably lost all interest in it. The problem only got worse after I figured out how to play GC through my Hauppauge. Spend half my time firing up DScaler and screwing around with FireRed or Emerald, which one month ago I didn’t even give a damn about.

I also have a tendency to wait until I can get games off Steam for dirt cheap before I play them. Cryostasis for 4 dollars was the best investment I’ve ever made, even if the crap optimization made my head hurt.

which is why i mostly buy rpgs these days, finished all the dlcs for mass effect two giving me a respectabvle 44 hours of gameplay in total for that game

I found Mass Effect 2 to be pretty damn impressive. Even made it through without dying/losing anyone at the end.

I really regret not buying the Demon’s Souls special edition. Not for the strategy guide, I just want the soundtrack. It is so phenomenally good. It is like classical music crack.
