I was freakin awesome but I’m easily entertained. So quite creepy parts though, there was quite a bit a screaming.

I wanted to go see HP last night, but I couldn’t face this festival with what would have been an hour of sleep.

The new HP? I saw that clip that Warner Bros. were getting their panties in a twist over, and it looks amazing :3

they look so pale in interviews., its like their skin is made of paper or something…almost wierdly hypnotic……

gonna have to see it, ive only seen the last two in theater i think, and i havent been to a see a movie since star trek

I never did get into HP. When I wanted to, my mother told me it was “the work of the devil”. When I was able to make the decision for myself, I wasn’t interested anymore. Ah, life.

I have a stepmother who prevents her sons from watching shows like Charmed because of the association with witchcraft, and even she couldn’t figure out what my direct male ancestor had against Harry Potter.

Personally, I was dragged kicking and screaming to the first one and was mildly amused, found the second fascinating until no one freaking died, kinda enjoyed the dark turn of the third, found the fourth boring, and mildly enjoyed the fifth, but still didn’t give enough of a damn to sit through a single book.
My mom on the other hand is foaming at the mouth.

Overprotective parents are one thing that really annoys me. Let your kids decide for themselves, for God’s sake! You can’t control them forever, they won’t let you control them forever, so give the kid some freedom, for goodness’s sake!

My colleague at college is in his third HP movie. Only an extra, but it’s still cool.

As far as overprotective parents go, my stepmom was fairly lax. She’d screen movies to make sure they weren’t excessively blood or pornographic, and the witchcraft thing via charmed was fairly off. Second each of her kids turned 18, they pretty much got to watch whatever they want.
A lot of the over-protectiveness their came from one brother’s disability and the other’s tendency to have night terrors over anything remotely scary. There were other issues involved, but they aren’t something that should be discussed.
My father on the other hand was just a control freak. Only thing I got worth keeping out of seeking that sociopath out was my stepbrothers and stepmom, whom I talk to very often. My mom is even helping my stepmom with her divorce!!!

Man, y’all are whipped. My parents let me watch The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Pulp Fiction, The Big Lebowski, etc. when I was six or seven. They knew I would get it eventually. I didn’t really pay attention at the time.

Harry Potter is awesome. Never got into the movies, though. I always knew the story and paid attention to the amazing score, because John Williams is amazing in every way.
My parents never gave a damn. Playing Diablo at age 5ish and GTA at age 7.
Also, Commie, asleep at 3 AM and awake at 6 this whole week. I feel your pain.

Alright, we just set off a spontaneous dance-off involving about 400 of the 1000 plus people at this NCTC High School Play Festival. Epic Time Warp and nobody died. Sometimes it is pretty awesome to be in the Theatre Department at this College.

@Scotch: Yes, but I watched Event Horizon while I was back down. Remembering a movie and watching a movie in a similar environment off of a movie torrent site is something totally different indeed.
@Lark: Now don’t get me wrong, I liked the movie. It was very well executed. Just not a good environment to be watching it in.

I don’t know why that’s scary. It’s highly unlikely. If I were you I’d be more afraid to watch something like, Idunno, The Challenger Explosion, maybe? Please don’t blow up or I’ll feel soooo bad for mentioning that.
