In one way or another, all new forumites must deal with what you are dealing with, Light. When a community starts having senior members, it will become harder to be initiated into the circle because the standard of what is acceptable (types of humour, topics of discussion, picture posting and just behaviour in general) has been preset by the, uh, elders. When something new arrives, people will - naturally, and understandably - protest the change in one way or the other. So the struggle you have is quite common, especially if you come with clean slates or directly from a vastly different community. I would not worry about it at all; you do not appear to be someone who causes problems. Now stop thinking that people must hate you. ^_^

This is not to say that you should not listen to people if they, erm, shoot you down, because that will not end well. You should hear others’ criticisms out (even though they consist of “this is stupid” ), but do not take it personally. Some people on the Internet are trolls, others are seniors who does not like an upset balance. Unless your hobbies consist of violent kitten killings, no web user will hate you. They are more than wise enough not to do that. ^_^ You are doing fine, as far as I can see.
