Bittersweet Candy Bowl

At my school were going to have a dance and I need some tips for asking a girl to the dance, dancing, and how to act.

Okee. Firstly, do you know this girl? If so, then find out if she is planning to go, and perhaps suggest that you might like to go with her. If you don’t know her, then try and strike up a few conversations beforehand, before you pose the big question.
Now, I’m not really one for dancing, but I know the basic rules. If it is pop/rock/whatever- other-modern-crap kind of dancing, then try and be enthusiastic, without going completely overboard. Try and get her to join in. If it’s slow/ballroom dancing, then make sure you know a few steps (google some tutorials). Try and be as enthusiastic as you can, and don’t make her feel stupid or left out.

Tips:

When dancing, don’t put your hands anywhere innapropriate (bums, breasts, etc).
Act natural around her; joke around, try and be cool without trying too hard.
If she asks to dance with you, then agree.
Wear good stuff and try and use some decent personal hygeine: deoderant, wash your hair, etc.

If you want to try and start a relationship through this dance, then try and make it seem obvious. Be friendly and caring to her, and try and make yourself seem like a good guy to be around.

Don’t make any big advances (hugs, hand-holding) unluss she seems to want you too.

Relax, always remember to just relax. And see what kind of dancing she likes, she might be a crazy dancer who just wants to have fun and doesn’t care if she looks stupid, or she could be serious. Also;

DON’T GRIND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.

Yeah, grind and you will get bitchslapped by everyone present.

One tip i feel I should add, if slow dancing, dont look into her eyes the “whole” time. A bit is good but dont go over, its kinda creepy.

be confedent but not an overbering dick. Definatly find out what type of dancer she is and what kind of music will be played. Last one i went to all four of us were makeing fools of ourselves and didn’t give a rats ass, we were having fun. Wear shoes with pantant leather bottems. they glide across the floor. Rubber soles just stick but leather slides VERY easaly across a clean floor. They helped me seem a little less incomedent. I say never pick your feet up during the slow danc but i’m a amiture. You will look a little silly, not picking your feet up but you’ll never step on her feet. But thats up to you.

Wow! I’m glad you all want to help me! I thought after the drawing thing you all stopped liking me. @Lark90 I know most of the songs being played because i’m helping pick them out. I’m on the planning group.

The dance is a Halloween dance as well. I gave 40 songs we could use. Genres some Country(Ex Sweet Home Alabama), Pop(Ex Pon de Replay), Spooky Pop(Ex Thriller), Halloween(Jack’s Lament/Kidnap the Sandy Claws), Soft Rock(Ex Sweet Dreams are Made of This) Romance Rock(Ex Little Wonders), and obviously a LOT more. The dance is 3 hours long and is a costume dance. @Sammy and La Commie! I doubt I would have the guts to grind. If I did i’d probably slap myself.

Oh yah…. a big problem is I don’t know how to dance, nor do I normally like dancing in public. When I dance I just move more or less randomly.

Well, that’s fine as well Like Lark said, it doesn’t matter whether you make yourself look like a tit, as long as you are both enjoying yourselves.
Yeah, and slow dancing is really helped along by good hygiene (bad breath is, unsurprisingly, a really big turnoff). Just don’t take it seriously; go along with it.
Then, slow dancing is also a really good way to “bond”, and, as you are planning what songs you will play, you should include a couple of songs to encourage slow-dancing, just to round off the evening. Hell, as a planner, then you can make this whole thing go your way

From a girl’s opinion : act nice and calm. Dont be crazy. Also girls like a guy with good humor. Compliments on how she looks are good too (dont go too crazy with compliments either).
