Well nothing lasts forever eventually everyone you ever knew dies and so does your memory, but the point of life is to enjoy what you have for as long as you can. Love CAN last that long.

I wish romantic love could, but all I see is trajectory. Every single romantic relationship has a trajectory. Where do you see yourself in five years? Ten years? Thirty? With platonic friends, you never really have to ask that because your relationship already has its patterns set, but romance can’t do that. It has to evolve and change, and surviving high school alone is Herculean task to ask of any relationship, much less a romantic one. Some people can make it that far because they’re mutable enough, adaptable enough, tenacious enough to make it that far, but all of those qualities are so rare that I can’t expect that.

As far as the whole Mike situation goes I lean toward him being with Lucy. Yes Lucy was pretty cruel and cold, but Mike was the only one she could befriends. He was probably her first friend. She grew up around him and everything so she’s always felt real close to him. It took her a long time to realize it but I think she’s always liked Mike. Even at the time when Paulo came in. But I don’t know maybe I’m not being fair about Mikes POV. Also this, I was introduced to Lucy in the very beginning and I’ve been with her through the whole comic, I’ve watched her develop more and more as time goes on. What happened with Sandy? When she was introduced she seemed more like an obstacle and has never really gotten any time to show she’s more than that.
