Parkour. ^_^

Wikipedia. What would we do without you? Incidentally, one of my friends decided to self-teach and learned most of the vaults using a mixture of youtube videos, metacafe, various parkour sites and several oil tankers worth of Mountain Dew for courage. And if my 14-year old friends can do it, anyone can. Go for it, Trev ![]()

The first thing i learned was the most basic. Rolling. First just getting used to rolling, then jumping a few feet before rolling, then running jumping and rolling. Which is good for when you jump from a high spot

EXTREME SITTING

Its Doing the Mario: HARD MODE!
I’m serious. Doing the Mario is a dance where the person shakes their arms from side to side, then takes one step, then again. THAT’S WALKING! Thus, Doing the Mario: Hard Mode is parkour.

then whats extreme sitting?

If your gonna start Parkour i suggest you do Brazilian Jui Jitsu, you’ll learn how to land safely if you fall

@ILB
When judo master, Helio Gracie, went to japan he learned traditional jui jitsu which he mixed with judo and tae kwon do to create his own fighting style

Even Judo is a good way to learn to protect yourself against falls. And after learning the Kata, then you will be able to fall off a three-storey building and just roll
I try a bit of parkour. The trick is not to look down.

You want to try parkour?
Ok, your first test is to be able to sprint for one mile without getting winded or slowing down.
Comment ID #109654
a mile is kind of long… why not a kilometre?
Comment ID #110286

Your links just link to BCB threads that don’t exist.
Start off just vaulting over railings and that. Try some wall bounces etc. Jump from a few heights, and then try linking stuff together i.e jumps with wall bounces, jumps with vaults, etc. Learn how to roll on landing, otherwise you’ll kill yourself on landing (not literally)

Anyone know how to get started? I’ve been watching videos and reading things and i really want to get into it. To my knowledge there are not groups in my immediate area but then again i just may have not looked in the right places.
Im really curious. I tried a few basic things today and I think i could get it if i had someone to help. Any ideas? Im in the northern part of Idaho, up in the panhandle. thanks.
