Hey, Brazil elected a terrorist president and the US elected a closet-Muslim president. I think we have more in common than you think, brother.

Anyway, USA has a whole bunch of parties, but only two of them have any clout.

I’m voting the Libertarian Ticket.

Yes, Brazil has heaps of oil. Two problems though:
1. It’s buried so deep no currently available technology can reach it.
2. The US will invade us as soon as we can and steal our oil. They will also claim to be “liberating” Brazil from radical, communist leaders.

Actually I’m looking forward to the invasion. Brazilians won’t put up much of a fight, and things might just get better under foreign rule. I mean, look at california, can you imagine Los Angeles and Hollywood existing if that land still belonged Mexico?

FOR AMERICA!

One word of warning. Take your pictures from at least 100 feet from the polling place and do not take any pictures inside the polling place because that is against the law.

JHawkNH November 2, 2010, 3:22 PM EST.

Comment ID #116956

The 100-foot restriction only really applies in California. Different states have different laws. But regardless of state, it would be very advisable to only snap pictures outside the polling place. You’re much less likely to encounter trouble that way. Another helpful tip would be to not include any other people besides yourself in the picture.

I don’t have a photo of my polling location because I read this after I voted but I can always go back and take one! It’s only a 5 minute walk from my house. :) I was in my car just outside my polling place though! :o

I took my son with me ( he’s three) and let him push the buttons for me, I just pointed out which ones to push for me. He did a really good job too! I showed him how much fun voting can be! I know he’ll make me proud someday and vote just like his mommy!

I’ll post a picture of him with his “I voted” sticker later. He’s napping :3

Oh and how cool is it that someone else on here is from OHIO! :D

Aw, how cute!

Why is everyone from Ohio?! My mom moved down to Maryland from Ohio before I was born but the rest of my family (aunts, uncles, cousins, grandma) live in Ohio so I visit them there a couple of times a year.

Got my votes in, stopped pulling my hair out about not being able to vote in the last election (ONE FRIGGIN’ WEEK TOO YOUNG) and having to watch capitalism be devoured alive. I’ll get an image up later tonight as I lacked a camera when I actually wen to town hall.

I will vote on my way home and get the pics posted tonight. One of the other fun things about this contest is getting to see what other form members look like.

As of today, I have voted four times in my life. That’s every single election that’s come up since I turned eighteen.

Jerk November 2, 2010, 9:28 PM EST.

Comment ID #117150

@Mousey: Cool that you’re also from Ohio. What… hm… county? We don’t need to get into cities. I’m from Summit. Oh, and O-H! :)

@Samuel Catte: Uh… neither are any of us, I hope. The chance at candy is just a nice little add on to knowing that I hopefully made a difference, as with yourself.

@JHawkNH: I know about the distance. I took three or four pics trying not to look like a creep and include the pic I brought with me.

… as an aside, and also at Mousey if you’d care to comment, is anyone else not all that psyched about the candidates this year? Here in Ohio, I’m not that wild about anybody who is up for election. I mean, no one I wanted got elected in ‘08, but at least there were people I liked. Which sucks, because our governor’s up for bids, and while I’m not fond of Strickland,I don’t really care for the Republican/Green(right?)/Socialist candidates either…

@The Lost Carol I live in Franklin county. O-H!! :D Oh and the candidates here in Ohio, I’m not crazy about them either. Honestly I hate all politicians in general and I’m really displeased with the way things went in the last election. I try to pick the candidate with the views closest to mine that aren’t corrupt but it’s hard :(

For those of you not in the know, in Oregon, we vote by mail. If you’re too cheap to pay for postage or too indecisive to vote early, you can drop one off at a ballot box. This one was in the basement of the Courthouse, but there is one in the parking lot of a grocery store as well, among other locations.

Incidentally, you aren’t allowed to campaign right out in front of these places; there was a guy with a huge Democrats sign a block or two away though. I didn’t see his Republican counterpart, but Corvallis is kind of a bastion of liberalism; probably a waste of time, really.

I’m TheTitaniumDragon@hotmail.com as always.

@Sammy Typically social issues would have a good push on which way I lean (I wouldn’t say “hinge”), but generally speaking, most candidates around here have the same basic views, so I usually have to find some issue where they part ways or look at how much of a hypocrite they are to act as the kicker.

When do we find out who the 5 lucky ones are?

*Forgot to mention I took 2 more pictures actually inside my voting place but I only wanted to put 2 up (space) and the 2 I put up seemed more acceptable, but if needed I can put up the other 2

@Sammy everything from jamming the man to fetus farming

Really mostly things concerning human death (percieved or otherwise), which I guess ultimately boils down to abortion and capital punishment. Since you’re probably curious, I’ll tell you now that I probably have the most moderate opinion on gay marriage, so that usually doesn’t have any bearing on voting.

Jeeze am I really as fascinating as Evan.
