i played when it first came out and was all the rage. that was in elementary school. i quit playing and put my cards away. then middle school came around and i suddenly became popular again. i started playing again. this was when gx was the hot show for kids. after a year or so of playing, i quit again. i put my cards away and said ‘no more’. then came f’ing dueldisks and i just had to go buy all 3 versions and start playing again. then i said ‘wtf? i’m too old for this’ and quit playing.(CONTINUED)

then high school rolled around. guess what? it became popular again. and guess who fell back into it? me once again. well, at the end of my freshman year, i said ‘no more! FOR REALS!’. well guess what i’ve started doing AGAIN!
WTF??!! why do i keep falling back into yugioh over and over again? grrrrr.

Ive played yu-gi-oh because of the first generation,and first generation only,and i was good at the time,but that was really long ago,oh and haven’t you heard the newest generation?

i stoped playing when i was 12 and that’s were it ended for me. when dueldisk came out i was like “now we pay $25 to $30 to play the same card game we play siting down but now we’re standing up” why would you buy that!?

Magic the gathering is what happened. It’s like Yu-Gi-Oh for adults you should look into it it’s fun.

i think i like collecting more than dueling nowadays, but i still duel at tournaments from time to time

I’ve actually got a ton of cards, but no longer have time or desire to play. I do still have one WICKED deck set up in case my brother wants to duel.

@Ragingsystem i use to play it. i eventually lost all my cards and stopped playing magic.

It started the year I was born.

@ILB the card game came out in 1996 in japan (1999 in usa), but the anime came out around the same time as the game in america. so around 10 or 11 years old. and i’ve been in and out of playing it all those years.

@Dr.Klaus my deck is a badass dragon deck. i have never lost with it. it was built with the help of some dude that works at mcdonalds. true story.

I used to have a dragon deck. It was probably the best for it’s time, but it soon got outmoded. Now I’ve got an Earthbound/Obelisk sort of deck, but I’m scrapping it for a cannon soldier OTK

Man, y’all should’ve just settled for pokemon like me. The pokemon card game was always crap, so I never got into it, and now whenever I see a new game coming out I just play blue and convince myself that the original was somehow better.

Hm. I thought it was younger than Beyblade. Oh well. ^_^

my sister use to beat me everytime when i was little. she had a kaiba deck and i had yugi’s deck. it was probably because she could actually read the cards then lol. i just liked the pictures XD

Ooh, Beyblade was fun too. We never actually played the game, we just took nturns sending them down the slide or standing at the bottom with our shirts pulled up getting hit in the chest.

I remember the first time i started, I was playing my dad using the TV show’s rules. It was so f***ed up. Then we actually read the rules, and were like, “Oh, that makes SOOO much more sense.” Lol.

@Scotch pfffhahaha. i was into pokemon (STILL AM MOFOS!), but i am into yugioh a lot more apparently. well, if we’re talking card games, then ygo definetly wins, but for videogames, pokemon is waaaay better.

Oh, yes. I completely agree. Just like how digimon had a way better show than pokemon or yu-gi-oh, imo.

the anime for Yu-Gi-Oh and Beyblade was like this:

Yu-Gi-oh: “I will distroy/take over the work with little children cards!”

and at the end of GX it was like “the world was born from a card” are you fucking kidding me?!

I played Pokemon.
I played Magic too.

but never Yu-Gi-Oh.

I’m not sure how it’s acceptable to have an occult “dark magic” that manifests itself in children’s playing cards on a children’s television show.

I had the best fire deck. I would wreck shit with these baseball players and my solar flare dragon. It was the best.

I had that structure deck too. Or did you mod it?

@JB i just built my brother a fire deck with those cards today lol

i buy a structure deck, use it as sold for a few days, take it apart and add it to my binders, and then use the cards to make my own kickass decks later on.

Yeah they are the shit man, I wouldn’t have any other deck. Also I did have other cards in that deck so yes it was modified.

I just play yu-gi-oh just for distract.
Besides the new movie will come out in USA on April.

i have soo many cards though, so i have to go through over 1000 cards before deciding which ones are perfect for the deck i’m making at that specific time.
which reminds me, who remembers trying to get the god cards? like, that was the ultimate goal. and if you saw someone who had one you’d pee yourself from the pure awesomeness. then try and make crappy tades to try and get it.

Beyblade was the shit. Man I would cut my knuckles trying to get the best spin possible let me tell you.

Pokemon was also pretty sweet but I just played for the pretty cards, but I can still kick some ass if called to it. (Though my deck is pure gen one cause hell yeah dewgong.)

Pokemon games were fucking awsome, stadium 1 and 2 were the best. used to play the cards but mow just collect the focile serise, gen one shit.

@Klaus i had all 3 gods, then i lost my obelisk, then i traded to get another, so i have all 3 again.
i use to have the fire sacred beast, but i sold it to a comic shop.
and the new card smell is like crack: you sniff it once, you have a 98% chance to become addicted
