I voted “Live”. This is truly a test of what people think defines a human, and their views on life. It will certainly be interesting to see the result.

No. Not at all. ![]()
*vote life*
(I know of the contradiction, of course. That is because I want life to be preserved, no matter how silly I think this is.)
Comment ID #125983
…. “life” what hes doing takes major courage… or brain damage, most likely courage
Comment ID #125990
*vote death*
If you’re dumb enough not to care about your own life that you’d put it up as a decision to the internet, you are a drama queen and wasting my air.
Comment ID #125999
Also, if he’s actually dumb enough to go through with this, and provided he’s an organ donor, he could end up saving the lives of a handful of people that don’t want to waste theirs in a flippant display of stupidity.

This raises another question, is anyone clicking that death button technically a murderer if he does go through with this.
Comment ID #126018
If a shithead kills himself on the web for attention, does he make a sound?
In this case, yes:
BZZZT.
Comment ID #126039
Yes, he is really an idiot but it doesn’t mean he should die for it…
He decided to show the situation he is in but chose the wrong way (IMO) to do it, especially since he says that he’s doing that to permit everyone to express their point of view.
What I don’t like is that he is playing with his healt (and, maybe in the end, life) to show a point when it wasn’t needed to use such “extreme” methods.
I’ll vote “innocent” not only because I THINK he is (by reading all the thing about that scene of the film) but also because no one should judge if someone else has to die (in this case the whole WWW) and hope it will help to keep his deficient mind working (although I fear it won’t keep him from threat himself again).
Comment ID #126043
He has nothing to lose… he is apparently a rampant anti-Christian, or so say the Russian authorities. He’ll have his neck on the line anyway, so why not end his life in style? o_o
Comment ID #126045
Shock to the heart and you’re to blame
You give the internet a bad name~
Comment ID #126064
Because the only moment someone should stop to try to stay alive is when that someone is already dead…
We may say “He want to end with style” but in the end we may also say both “He want to take a shortcut to his grave with a clear conscience” or “He truly wants to live and he’s gambling with his life to try to gain as support as he can”, moreover he DOES have something to lose since he’s married (but it depends on how much he does care about his wife).
Obviously I’m assuming he is really going to fry himself if the majority find him guilt (when he may not going to, I’m not sure).

His “crime” was simply expressing how he felt about something. I’ll be damned if having an opinion means being put to death!
Comment ID #126105
I’m not voting.
I am catholic, and I don’t think what he did was a crime.
I don’t think he incited hate against any religion.
But I think this is ridiculous.
If no one voted, that would be nice.
Too bad hundreds have voted already.
I hope he lives, but I’m not doing anything for this idiot not to kill himself.
And, I don’t think whoever votes for “death” is technically a murderer.
Many will vote only for fun. Besides, trusting masses is dumb, because masses ARE dumb.
Comment ID #126159
Holding yourself hostage for attention. I hope they vote for death if only to see if he’ll pussy out or not.
Comment ID #126176
If he dies, it’s religious persecution and the church is being an ass.
I he lives, it’s intolerance and blasphemy.
Just put him in a box with radioactive substances and poison. Following the Schrodinger’s Cat experiment, you can have the best of both worlds.

Hooray for Quantum Immortality!
Honestly, how can you turn to the internet for humanity. This is where humans vent and their true thoughts combine into…something not entirely human or beast, just a weird but usually cruel thing.
Comment ID #126189
Fools. My /b/rothers are assuring that if this guy delivers, he’ll die.
Comment ID #126227
Oh, crap. The real internet is here.
Comment ID #126267
I voted live, but looking back, being neutral may have been better.
Oh well. I have a respect for life, so there’s my reason.
Comment ID #126467
Innocent.
I have nothing more to say than what I posted in the reasoning column.
============================
The question of whether or not your controversial crucifixion was indeed something that warrants prison time (Much less execution) is not what I wish to address. For me, the fact that the state chooses to tell people what is and is not offensive is offensive to my very sensibilities. You are guilty of nothing more than being an extremist. Specifically, an extremist who has not brought harm to any other person. And so, I ask, to what crime you might be guilty of?
In certain cultures, it is considered a great respect to be crucified like Christ before them, though not to death, and in such a way as not to cripple the chosen who act upon this. Why should Russia be allowed to deem this act as punishable?
But I digress. The true question I as is this. Is this art? You have this question on your own front page of your website. But I do not believe that it provides even close to a satisfactory answer. “This is art, because Mavromatti is an artist and he calls this art.” Does this mean that if I were to do this, it would not be art for I am not a recognized artist? Or can anybody claim to be an artist? If so, then is not every thing a piece of art? Is not the sill born fetus the greatest work of tragedy by all women who produce them?
Art is almost impossible to justify. Impossible to classify. Each time I draw a line in the sand, I could legitimately call it art, simply because I created it from whence there was no line.
I think a better response to the question “Is this art?” would be: “It is whatever you decide it to be.” For art is not decided upon by the artist, nor the critic, but the consumer. For THEY all decide for themselves what is and is not art each and every time their eyes lay upon a creation, man made or natural, and declare “THIS is art”.
I do not think you deserve to die. And I do not think that this will be perceived as art by many. But do I think it is art? Well now. That is where I shall leave you to ponder yourself. For I will not colour this diatribe with my opinion. For its meaning is in your hands. Not mine. I merely created it. It is your job to interpret it.

There are plenty of speed addicts who have done similar acts and gone through with it and hundreds of other speed addicts thought that they didn’t do it nearly as well as the guy last week. Art is weird. If I cared enough to pay the 50 cents I’d vote die for the first four days, just because it would be funny, then live for the last three.
Comment ID #126495
His death would be pointless. Let him live to do something later. after all, worst case scenario, someone at least gets paid to kill him and stimulates the local economy.
Comment ID #126569
It’s obviously innocent, it was just a wrong interpretation made by ridiculous ortodoxes, not the real point of the performance. Also the ones who vote for guilty don’t have any good arguments for it, just some idiots who want to see someone die.
Comment ID #126620
All his basic assumptions are flawed, the whole “experiment” is a joke. I hope someone shells out enough money to have this fat fuck put himself out of our collective misery or prove what a fucking pussy he is.
Comment ID #126764
I say he lives. As someone said earlier, the guy is just using this as a test of what modern society thinks of humanity. Either that or he’s a huge drama cow. >x[
Comment ID #126909
Heh, votong for life is free, but voting for death costs 50cents! Obviously the “not guilty”/”live” option will win. he’d had it planned from the start.
Comment ID #126933
“Hey…I’ll give you two shiny quarters if you’ll kill yourself! Would you like that, Fatty Dingdong? Would ya?”
Comment ID #126937
Wait, if he dies, it’ll be by his own stupidity.
No one’s giving him the death penalty.
Head back to the forum index.

An artist in Russia is letting the internet vote on whether he lives or dies.
What do you think of this? Do you think he will live or die? Will you be voting? Do you think something as important as a life should be left up to a group of strangers who you will never meet?
