We don’t have a sports thread? Huh. Anyhoo, let’s talk about sports. Like ‘em? Hate ‘em? Indifferent… ‘em? Basketball, Baseball, Football- wait, there are a lot of international readers here. Uh, American Football, Football, Jai Alai, Cricket? You guys like Cricket? Whatever.

I thought about this ‘cause I’m watching the Cleveland Cavaliers / Boston Celtics playoff series. The Cavs are starting to get the lead! You guys can do this!

I’ve never really understood the appeal of watching sports… I mean, it’s just you sitting there watching someone else run around and have fun.

I enjoyed playing Football (Soccer), Basketball, Tennis, Squash & Badminton. As you might have guessed, I’m a fan of racket based sports.

i love football, not soccer, football it’s awesome, too bad in mexico people prefer soccer rather than football.

@Maverik: For me, at least, it’s ‘cause A) I’m not that athletic, and B) sports events are really, really expensive. I went to a mid-season Cavs game, and the nose-bleed section tix we got second hand were $40 a pop. I do want to see my AA Baseball affiliate (I’d say who, but I don’t know if I want to get that specific with my location,) which has $10 or less tickets, but they are kind of on a losing streak right now…

@BBQ-Flavored Jerk: Sorry for your losses. I was really cheering for the Longhorns against the University of Alabama Sabins. ‘Course, since my Buckeyes won the Rose Bowl, I had my victory…

I’ll toss another vote in for College football. It may be because, as an Ohioan, I have to either suffer with the Browns or watch the Buckeyes win. It’s a no-brainer. As to rest-of-the-planet-football, I’d love to get into it, but there’s no Cleveland affiliate in the MLS, and for some reason the Columbus Crew doesn’t seem to ring with me. I will, however, be going USA! USA! for the World Cup.

I’m not very sporty, but I like watching rugby and soccer (ie, the South American and World cups). I used to play baseball and hockey, but they are not popular here. (unless you use the bat to whack someone to bits)

The only good sport is Planet Ball, the space game with giant robots where you try to kick a planet into a goal, which has yet to be invented. But when it does.

American Football, soccer (football), skiing, golf (to play not to watch), and of course baseball and the greatest team the SF Giants.

and I have faith that the U.S. will make it past the first round in the World Cup next month

I love badminton x3 (so girly~)
Usually play it with my Rival and friend Dustin when it’s sunny, but it’s kinda rainy over here at the moment.
