Uhhhh god, I don’t have comparisons, unless I take pictures of my painting models, which I must say, has come quiiiiittttteeeeeee a long way. I think on Monday i’ll hit up the library and post up what you artists have forced me into drawing.

my copying skills have improved (no i don’t mean lay a piece of paper over the pic and trace, i mean like look at it and draw it to larger size, ect) and so have my paint/coloring skillz… as far as drawing skills i still suck so much : / im not good at drawing things for some reason D=

I think I’ve made more progress after finding BCB than before.
Sonic style was nice, but it was general and I didn’t have a decent grip on anatomy.
A few weeks drawing BCB-style and all of a sudden my characters had a better style and body structure.
Sure I don’t have a solid foundation or consistancy, but I’m proud of how far I’ve come.
I have pictures of my art from age 5,6 or 7.
It was humorous to see my old stick figures.

@ Taeshi
Uh, wow, you certainly HAVE come a long way since you first began. That’s incredible!
As for me, I think I still have room for improvement. I’m decent, but I could certainly do better.
Oy, my old drawings where horrible. Absolutely eye-gougingly BAD. At least now it’s somewhat better. >>;

Ummm… I can’t really draw… No matter how hard I try ^^;
This is kinda the best work I’ve ever done, which was back in 2007. All just kinda trying to coppy other images off the internet… Just ignore the text on the first one ><

Aaaand here’s something I whipped together back when I first found BCB, and figured I might be able to replicate the earlier simpler designs… I was wrong ^^;

Do writing skills count? I like to think I’ve evolved as a writer… I don’t think I’ll ever find any of my old work since it’s probably long lost to an old fan site. But if you want to see my current abilities, check out my fanfic “All It Takes” in the forums here somewhere.

Actually. Update. I found one or two of my old fanfic’s ^^; This is the oldest one, as a comparison against my current BCB one. I duno if there’s any growth to be seen though…

MegaMan Neo
Prologue:
The year 20XX…
“Are you sure this is his hideout?” asked a horrified X. “I mean… This is where I was created… My capsule is here…” The lab was built into the side of the mountain and was clearly designed to hide itself from the rest of the world. Time had corroded the rock surrounding the door. As they approached it the roof of that part of the cave collapsed covering the entrance. Zero looked to X for assistance but he just stood there in the shadows not moving. Realising that in this state he wouldn’t be much help he turned back to the newly formed rockslide. Putting his hand on his sabre he turned his head slightly. “You should stay here if you’re going to worry so much…” As he readied to use his Raijinegki he heard a humming noise that slowly grew louder. Letting go of his sabre Zero stepped to one side.
X let one huge plasma blast out of his X-buster and blew away the rockslide. Not to mention the entire door.
“I’m not afraid,” murmured X. They looked around and saw that unlike the previous stations they had visited to stop great evil this building consisted of two rooms… This small room with plans strewn across tables, blueprints on walls and three computers collecting dust. Strangely the computers were on and buzzing. This only indicated that the lab was occupied.
“Who ever caused that disturbance is in there… You ready X?” Zero looked over at X who just nodded. This time it was Zero’s turn to open the door… One swift slash and it fell apart like so many robots before it.
Inside, the room was very small. Immediately the first thing that caught their eyes was a capsule. But this capsule didn’t look like all the others… No, this one was somehow different. As they approached it the silver door slid up revealing a horror they had not expected.
“Hmmm… Interesting capsule you had here. Nice design, comfortable to plug into. And it seemed to enjoy giving me all your details while upgrading my own system enhancing my performance by 20%.” The tall figure told X quite proudly.
“But… But… You were killed!” exclaimed X “I killed you!” X was mortified by the looming image of the evil Sigma. X remembered back to his last encounter when after a long hard fight he ended it by placing his X-buster directly in Sigma’s face and blasted his head to bits.
“Yes… You would like to know that wouldn’t you?” Sigma stepped out of the capsule and flung his arm out at X. Just as his arm flicked to a stop his signature weapon launched out. He grabbed the hilt and activated the laser. His death scythe now pointed at X. Another quick movement and he slashed at both X and Zero. Zero flipped out of the way but was slashed across his back opening up his circuitry. As he landed, his power almost diminished, he saw X get sliced in half. As X hit the ground his eyes went blank. Then almost like a muscle spasm he gasped for air.
“Z… Z… Zero… H… Hel… p… meeeeeee…” his power had totally diminished. Zero was then flipped over by Sigma’s foot. An evil smirk came across his face as he took Zero’s sabre.
“Ahhh… Finally we are reunited my old friend…” and with that he placed the blade end of Zero’s sabre on his chest and activated the beam. His scream was all that filled the air around the mountain.
To be continued…

LOOK AT THIS! now- I have this picture and if you look at it you somehow go aww on it ^^u
…I need to redo it again-
@Taeshi- THAT’S what you actually call improvement- I mean wow, and just to think of the fact that you’re already drawing the BCB comic for such a long time is also REALLY amazing
@Kaxbe: well- if you didn’t draw that much anyway it’s not a bad thing, cause the more you draw the more practise you get.

@Fourward: How do you think I feel?
@Lisa: There hasn’t been a day when I HAVEN’T drawn since junior year in high school…

@Fourward: Wow, you’ve really come a long way. Did I mention I love that latest mike piece of yours?
@Baconman: Haha! Good old art class style assignments. You’re pretty good at those!
@Gabriel Kaxbe: Your older comic there looks better becuase you have more confidence in your lines. A lot of your more recent stuff, looking in comparison, has very wiggly lines and some odd choices in head proportions. Maybe you should think about what you’ve changed and try to recapture that old style? Your heads in that comic are actually quite well-proportioned.
@Ace, Pregnant: Thank you!
Comment ID #23128
@MOOMANiBE: I’ve had some problems with my blood sugar levels recently and it causes my hands to shake a lot sometimes… However, I could try again. I’ll go look through my sketchbooks and try to locate where it started to change.
Comment ID #23132
@Kaxbe: Shaky hands can be an issue, but keep in mind that at least when drawing with a pencil, you can often get around that by staying very loose with your work. Go over lines multiple times, lightly rather than pressing down. The result is a bit sketchy, but often it’ll let you work out your proportions and such without having to worry if your hand vibrates a bit. Inking stuff is a bit of a different story, but I can’t help there because I use pens to sketch just like I do pencils @_@
Comment ID #23134
@MOOMANiBE: I use pens to sketch sometimes also. And it’ll turn out better than most of the stuff that I ink… However, I guess I could just use the initial sketch as a guideline and just sketch with pen over it.
Comment ID #23137
Find a method that works for you, really. I used to scan my stuff without ever inking it for AGES because I ruined so many drawings with pens. Don’t do something just because you think you’re somehow required to.
Comment ID #23141
I just want to get the hang of inking, so any practice I can get, I take. Since this is a comic, I feel more at ease inking everything. However, with other things, I always scan in a pencil drawing first.

Y’know… art-wise. I don’t think I’ve come THAT far….. I mean, here’s a Christmas comic which I did for Taeshi a few years ago. Now, compare that to this comic I did last year in high school and the art in my art thread…. Not much change in my opinion.
How about you guys. How has your art changed?
