I hope she’ll keep making random “after the ending” stuff lol.
Anywayz, we can order now?!

It’s cool that you’re enthusiastic, but it’s not made yet! And as we’re doing it as a print on demand thing, there’s no special need for preorders.

I would check back around June or July, instead!

Will this include the intermission comics or just the main story chapters?

SkylineFaux May 11, 2010, 4:14 PM EST.

Comment ID #20424

All of them! Part of the reason the site was massively reorganised and everything was rescanned in high res and cleaned up was all for this book, so this is kind of a culmination of things.

Awesome idea about selling a book, and I think this price range is completely acceptable. Looking forward to it’s release.

I think that the book should be split into two books, so it’s not overwhelmingly costly, or as breakable.
I would be willing to pay for parcel shipping and a hardcover though. But if your already planning endings for the comic, how much longer is it going to be around, if it’s years away, then ok, but if it’s about a year or two, then it might make all this business stuff, kinda unnecessary. I know I’d like to see the comic last a few more years, like mspaintadventures, vgcats, and slightly damned.

Did someone suggested stuffed animals already?

I might get this if I have enough money lying around.

Also, I’m glad it ends before the whole Lucy angst arc. Ending a book like that would make me sad :C

I passed on the idea of doing two smaller 200 page books because the quality of art in the first isn’t really print quality. By making a giga first book, we get through the initial chapters real fast and essentially price them much lower overall. The next 2-3 books would be $18ish 200 page jobs, closer to most longer printed webcomics.

Sula, it’d be split. The standard version would be shipped by Lulu, and you’d pay them, but the artist version would be shipped directly from us (payment by Paypal or whatever else.)

When my report card comes around, I’ll get paid (This is my allowance, its based on my grades) And i might consider buying it, if its within 40 USD then sure! I have nothing better to spend it on! other then savings, but who cares about them, right? =D

When this comic ends, ( T-T i love it so) are you going to start another one, or just stop doing webcomics?

Pyrotwister June 16, 2010, 2:37 AM EST.

Comment ID #44757

I have a story planned, yes, but it’ll be very short compared to BCB

there’s other stories here and there as well, I might make a “webcomic” about random stories. Like Oglaf only without the porn.. and the quality *hit*

Can i haz story book soon? I can pay in Cat-Nip…Mexican Pesos…Liters of Tequila…or Dollars…you can choose among those selections (even make some mixtures)! ;)

Haven’t got specifics, but it might be $10-15 USD. Hopefully closer to $10.

SuitCase June 29, 2010, 1:31 AM EST.

Comment ID #51104

Hey, that’s pretty good considering the size of the thing as mooted.

Um. Hope you won’t mind me asking, but why does Taeshi have to do so much more art just for the book? I mean… we all kinda love her already, and while seeing bonus artwork would be kind of cool, I hope she’s not stressing over the whole gotta-finish-chapter-then-do-book-art-aargh thing. Because I’d certainly pay big bucks just for printed versions of the comics already written.

BCB being the BEST THING EVER and all. :)

Yappy June 29, 2010, 1:51 AM EST.

Comment ID #51481

i’d probably do it. $25 is fair, though $30 is pushing it

tilde June 29, 2010, 7:40 AM EST.

Comment ID #51491

Yappy, partially because we don’t want to be lazy with any of our merchandise for sale, but also because a large proportion of people in the survey said they didn’t want to buy the book unless it has significant extra content. So it seems as much an economic decision to hold back as a principled one.

SuitCase June 29, 2010, 8:35 AM EST.

Comment ID #51492

Question:

Is every chapter going to be separated, or is the book divided into arcs? It’d be really cool if every chapter introductory page had some sort of artwork.

SkylineFaux June 29, 2010, 8:42 AM EST.

Comment ID #51496

That’s actually the idea! Kind of. Not really heavy-duty full-page backgrounded artwork.

Should arcs be signified in the comic? I don’t know if that’s distracting or not.

SuitCase June 29, 2010, 9:34 AM EST.

Comment ID #51499

You could do something like Pokemon and have filler art to seperate the arcs, just to recognise that some time has passed?
Or else the summer vacation arc would be really weird without transition from handdrawn to ohmygodthere’stones

Can i haz book signed and with dedicatory? I’ll pay, no matter its cost…plus i’ll add a liter of tequila…It’s not a joke!

Edit: And also,. i’ll add a bit extra (of cost…or tequila, your choice) if i can have a personal draw…i mean, if you made a draw about me inside the BCB World…may be i’m asking for too much?…It’s only my offer and my wish…

JC "Frustrated Writer" June 29, 2010, 2:21 PM EST.

Comment ID #51543

Tequila is awful. We will spit in your book.

(We plan on doing the customary thing and charging $8 more for an “artist edition” where you get a signature and a sketch request on the inside back cover!)

SuitCase June 29, 2010, 2:24 PM EST.

Comment ID #51547

It sounds better and better. Do tell when that ‘artist edition’ is out.
On the front page.
In huge font.
Above the comic.
For a week.
And hey, you accept Paypal! I assume you ship worldwide when there are no customs restrictions.

Yay! Then i want one, more than before!…When can i have one of this glorious books! I want one, all special, no matter the price (I can afford to pay even to 80 USD).

May be with this order, i can order a mug and a t-shirt…it would be cheaper the shipping and kill 2 birds with one shot!

P.D.: About Tequila, no problem…just making an offer…I don’t drink, but a friend of my dad have special discount on tequila…so i just think…but meh…

*Throws $40 on the table* I’ll take one please!

The pricing seems more than fair in my opinion. For a compilation that large and for a story that engrossing you won’t find me complaining.

I also second Vinsionary’s remark about stuffed animals. I’ll throw another $40 down if you have Lucy and Mike plushies, especially if they have those magnets in the nose that hook them together like they are kissing. =)

Maybe a whole line of them so you can support your favorite team!

Mike’s scarf could even be swappable for the original blue!

I’m definitely in for this, it’ll let me put my disposable income to use.

Gabriel Mobius October 15, 2010, 6:56 PM EST.

Comment ID #105719

I don’t know if I want to buy the book as soon as, or wait until everything’s finished and then buy it. It’ll probably be more expensive for the later one, but I’m sold on the idea of the book anyways. Count me in!

Side note: This is probably a stupid question; is there any chance of a book with all the best fanstories?

@The Great and Powerful Taeshi and Suitcase
I would pay for the book, I would buy Paulo, Lucy, Mike, and Mccain plushys, I would buy a PauloxLucy button, and I would pay to have the chatroom version of myself drawn by the Great Taeshi. If I weren’t a 14 year old with no allowence or job.

Hey I’m fairly new to this comic, but I’m so drawn into it :) I wish life was somewhere remotely close to the awsomeness of this comic. Also I wanted to ask if you had any idea of how much it cost to send to Canada? If you may have any idea I would love to hear it, and it would be greatly appreaciated :D
P.S. Excellent job, keep the great work

@Gary: As far as I’m aware, it’s still being created and refined. As you might guess from my previous posts, I’m going to jump on this like Mike seeing a fresh salmon as soon as I hear it’s out.

There’s a mailing list on the store, if you’re interested.

I want to formally express my interest in buying the book when it comes out.
But I really want to give Taeshi as much time as she needs, and maybe more, because I can see she is working very hard on it.
We’ll have chapter covers, we’ll have extra art, we’ll have extra stuff!

My only concern is how I’ll pay.
I don’t have a PayPal account, and I don’t know how that works.
I’ll have to research it.

Veronica is creating new content like crazy. She has spent the last two weeks doing book content at an incredible pace, basically. Once she’s done, I’ll put together a new proof to order from Lulu. Then we’ll get it, and she’ll have to make decorations and other bits and pieces. And then she’ll have to continue updating all the older comics, which are getting dialogue rewrites and have to be adjusted for book format around the edges - she’s only a quarter through that.

If the website stopped updating, there’s a very small chance it’d be done by Christmas. Seeing as there’s also the competing worry of producing 3 colour comics a week, I suspect the book will miss yet another deadline, and be done early next year. However, the heaviest stuff was making the new chapters, and those are in their final phase of inking right now.

As Yappy said, sign up for the mailing list and you’ll be the first to know when it’s ready.

Gary, shipping is going to be hard. I suspect the real cost of shipping a book this size will be $13-16 internationally. I will do my best to keep it low, and I might have to fake a shipping cost (make shipping artificially low, but increase the book price) to make it seem less upsetting to people. This is for the copy from Australia, but the Lulu one will only be like $4 or free shipping to US\Canada, as per their usual deals.

Lyucs, if you bought it from us, we accept cash in the mail, which a lot of people have used to buy small things from us. If you wanted to pay online, you’d be best getting a Visa\MC debit card from your bank, or perhaps a prepaid Visa\MC card from a shop that sells them.

Wow, you guys are going for the extra mile here! :D Very glad to hear Taeshi’s updating the early strips. I thought it wouldn’t be implemented.

Either way, really excited about this. :)

How does cash in the mail work…
Is it like, literally sending cash to your address?
People trust mailing that much?
Just curious.
I think I have a international Visa debit card, I just remembered xD

Oh, yes, can I buy other stuff to come with the book to pay only one time for the shipping?
