Glancing at the name Icaras, I dimly recalled him claiming that he did not know how to draw. To my surprise, I saw pencil lines drawn on paper preceding the alias. The style was instantly recognisable, and as I scrolled up my certainity grew. Thoughts pointing to CBM, one simple sentence appeared in my head:





“This does not compute.”

Well, because I didn’t see the words at first.

Oh. XD that explains it. That’s why the English language is read from top to bottom. ^_^

That specific piece was gridded. As in I measured the dimensions of the original picture, gridded it, and then enlarged all of that to scale for the size of paper I was required by my teacher to use. This ‘technique’ helps a lot, especially in situations where you are either drawing much bigger than you’re used to or something you aren’t as experienced in. You shouldn’t, though, always rely on it-it’s good to be able to do a successful piece eventually without this. Pencil and charcoal, no idea how many hours(class was 1 hour 30min long everyday of the week, for maybe a week or week and a half though I slacked majorly some days).
