Portal is free until the 24th. Seriously.

Comment ID #20810

First of all, hi. First post.
Second of all, no. This is not relevant to the comic in any way :/
Third of all, no. I’m not a spambot and there is not a catch.

Valve just announced that until the 24th you can get portal (the awesome game which is centred around, you guessed it. Portals) for the awesometastic price of 0 $/€/£/§.

Don’t believe me? Clickety click or just go here: http://store.steampowered.com/freeportal/ (Yeah it’s an official site on the steam store and not a phishing site, baby)

Just wanted to get as many people out there to know this. I know some people might not believe a random guy on the internets when it comes to offers like these especially on an anonymous board (Well we do use names but nothings forcing you to use the same one every time, hence anonymous).

And yes. Mac support too for those with only one button on their mouse.

I suppose offering free games on my first post is a good enough introduction, right? :P

Have it, decent game, albeit rather short

MiwAuturu May 12, 2010, 9:30 PM EST.

Rather have it short than long and boring to be honest. I dislike it when games are padded out thinking that “the longer the game the better”.

I mean that would be kinda like adding pointless filler to a webco- I’m going to shut up now :P

@Implus3

That’s wrong, you get Portal: First Slice for free, which is a demo. Not the full game.
However, you do get Half Life 2: Deathmatch for free, same for ATi users.

Comment ID #20871

Well, right now you can get the whole game for free, so I’d grab it while ya can. ^^

Stop being such a sarcastic douche. GOD

Lol, I’m still wondering if you can only play it until the 24th or they’re handing out free copies until the 24th.

@SuitCase Help yourself, I know I will.

That’s why I like Steam. They also think on their ill-fortuned customers, those who are on part-time jobs and don’t get a salary until officially hired. Or have a bank account and access to PayPal to pay for their games. Or live in a country where games sold by $25 in the North America gets priced as R$185 (local currency, note).

TL;DR, I’ll finally play Portal for the first time in my life! *w*

It’s free copies until the 24th. If you get it before then you own it forever (or until steam explodes).

This is why I love Valve.

True, they take a LOOOOOOOOOOONG time to make anything, but, when they do make something, it’s always good. As a result of their dedication, they make a ridiculous amount of money off of it.

And the best bit?

They never try to do more or stretch games to make them seem longer. They don’t become greedy. How they manage to not do that I’ll never know. But it’s awesome. More so than any other company.

And then they somehow manage to top it all by giving away free copies of one of their best games, Portal.

No other company EVER gives away free games. ESPECIALLY ones like this.

And everybody wonders why Valve is so freaking loved. XD It’s cuz they actually do good things like this.

AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, WOULD YOU PLEASE GET EP3 OVER TO THE US ALREADY?

…yes, I am STILL hooked on HL2.

It’s a damn good game. X3

And now I am rambling.

BYE!

Speaking of which, anyone noticed the “new” ending in Portal? Keep your ears perked for Portal 2, that’s all I’m saying… :O

Also, here’s a random idea for you people who can draw: David wielding two Portal guns, about to “make some damn science”

New ending? does this version have a different ending from the original?

MiwAuturu May 14, 2010, 1:24 AM EST.

Comment ID #21427

@MiwAuturu Well, by that I mean, “slight change in the end that isn’t much of an eye candy, but makes a huge difference” Seriously, it’s just five seconds worthy.

Lol @ scientist in second picture. It looks like he’s going to do something innapropriate with himself.

Edit: Then again first picture is even worse, it just wouldn’t load for me at first.

I think the Release date for Portals 2 is October 26th, though I could be mistaken. I am quite sure it is October though, it’s a full length game and so full game price.
