Sonic Adventure games and their fucking emerald hunt levels.

Spyro A New Beginning, it had the Spyro the Dragon name attached to it, but I beat the game in something like six hours, the game is way to short, way to linear, and has almost no sidequests.

SONIC ‘06 AND IT’S HORRIBLE CONTROLS AND CAMERA ANGLES!
I have never died on a simple jump to another platform about a foot away so many times before because of camera changes, glitches or just bad goddamn controls!

The utter abomination that is Superman 64.
How in the HELL did you people EVER forget this hellspawn?
It is, in short one of the worst games ever.
That, and Action 52.
Wanna know what these two are? Go and watch the AngryNintendoNerd. You’ll see why.

@Cyo: HE’S THE ANGRIEST GAMER YOU EVER HEARD
HE’S THE ANGRY NINTENDO NERD
HE’S THE ANGRY ATARI/SEGA NERD
HE’S THE ANGRY VIDEO GAME NERD!

@TheRay
Yep, that’s the one.
The one thing I like is that once you get past all the profanity, he has some pretty valid points as to why those games are so bad.
Oh, and don’t forget ghosts and goblins for that really, really dick move when you first reach the “last” boss and manage to kill him. I literally stopped dead in my tracks for a good minute after I beat him and witnessed the cutscene. That was an evil move they pulled…

Come on. You can’t possibly imply that a game that has this as music can be bad: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H30wUgYmgMA
In all seriousness though, I still think someone oughta make a proper version of that game.

i love those games :3

I like the soul calibur series in general until they have the ai that can predict your actions 5 minutes prior.
But even worse is Modern Warfare 2. The game itself is fun, but I cannot STAND the people who play it and for whatever reason can’t resist calling everyone they see a fag.

Super Robot Taisen games, man is soo irritating when a mission have 2 part with bunch of enemies with a lot of HP.
Specialy OG Gaiden on the Dark Brain stage,i had to fight 6 Raideen like robots with beam barriers and they had lot of HP,or like on Shura King stage,he have like 2 or 3 forms and every turn he recover some HP thats runs out of my mechas EN XC.
At lest the Neo Granzon stage was`nt to hard.

Even if you’re of the opinion that I’m a being whinny bitchfag about the AI in that game, you cannot tell me it wasn’t a whole order of power more difficult than SCII.
I mean I didn’t really want just more SCII, but I also didn’t want, “Oh hey, you’ve used that move more than once. Here, let me show you how to block that.”

Right now Sonny 2 is pissing me off, the god-damned City Council is so friggin’ cheap! You kill one member, and the other kicks your god-damned ass with insta-kill attacks!
If anyone else here has played through Sonny 2 as a psychological then I could really use some advice! Dx

I’m playing Illusion of Gaia right now. The only bad thing I can think to say about this game is that the anachronisms annoy me, but I can put that annoyance aside to enjoy the sights.
Comment ID #21990
Okay, I found something about it that annoys me: the fact that, in order to get the best ending in the game, I have to turn in a runaway slave.
Way to make me feel like a turd, guys.

Most of you seem to have forgotten that the point of this thread was to talk about GOOD games that frustrate you. Superman 64 etc do not fit that description…
For me? Ninja Gaiden. Doesn’t matter which. Pick one. They all frustrate me to the breaking point. I’ve beaten the origional nes trilogy. But never the new generation. Granted, I’ve not tried to play the newest one, and the X-box one I played was Ninja Gaiden Black…
If I think of any others, I’ll post ‘em

Final Fantasy 3… the remake for the DS. Twas awful.

Jak & Daxter the Lost Frontier, dissapointing after Jak 2 & Jak 3
Also Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind, truly an excellent game, one of my favorites n fact except for one random enemy known as a cliff racer. Don’t care what game it is they are the most annoying enemy ever.
Comment ID #22074
My GOD, Cliff Racers are annoying. As if it was hard enough to hit people at ground level.

I think the Sim City games fit this description. I really like and enjoy them, there’s few things better than watching your city thrive and prosper, but…
I’m a crapy mayor =(
I have never put enough foresight in my cities to plan ahead how will they grow and how will I build, so I always find myself without enough space and have to destroy half the city to lessen the chaos. And I’ve never been able to reduce traffic… and I never know how to properly place public transport…
Now that I think of it… many of the cities I’ve seen in my country follow this same pattern, which is really depressing =(

Every pokemon game ever
i get so close to beating Koga’s demon Muk, with it’s goddamn toxic/evasion spam thing that slowly wittles down your heatlh while you miss and miss and miss and miss and miss and miss! then, when you get so fucking close to killing it and BOOM full restore…i want to kill everything
Comment ID #22113
In Morrowind, I would go that furry chick’s house that I guess you date or something, remove every last item in the house and then I would steal every single jewel (diamond, ruby, emerald, etc.) on the entire continent and stuff it in her room. Conversely, and I never tried this, I was thinking about just killing everyone on the continent so I could reenact Cast Away.

I somehow found myself with a copy of Conker’s Pocket Tales.
Worst. Rareware game. EVER.
So many box and switch puzzles… and to make things worse, they only get EASIER and MORE plentiful as you go through the game.
Still at least decent, though.

I can’t believe my SNES still works. I’m about to beat Illusion of Gaia but the last boss is annoying me to death.
Comment ID #22468
Heeey, how Super Robot Wars is annoying! >:O It’s an awesome game!
Pity I’ve to wait for Aeon Genesis and Romhacking to translate them in order to actually play them T~T But the little I could push myself to play most of the series is beyond great. The plot mostly, I love how all series mesh into a single storyline.
Best so far I could remember is the Nadesico OVA on SRW D, how you can actually “fix” the whole story involving Akito and his custom Aestivalis, the Black Selena. Also Touma and his RaiOh on Alpha 3, the whole story is exciting.

I beat Illusion of Gaia just now.
The secret bonus level is not worth finding those fifty god damned red jewels. I mean, for all the work I did I expect a hidden ending, not some stupid easter egg boss and a palette-swap dungeon.
The game ending and music were beautiful though. No complaints there.

DOtA, Or Defense of the Ancients…A map for Warcraft III. Well, Actually, I kinda like It, But…. Hell, It’s like I have to buy this item for this class and that class, and this item requires mixing this item and that item, and AARGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And L4D2. Damned jockeys. And Chargers.

For computer games… Sid Meier’s Pirates. Crew goes unhappy WAY too quick, the governor’s daughters are ALWAYS plain whenever I play, and it goes by way too damn fast. (On a separate note, it’s the one computer game I have that I don’t know how to cheat at >.>
Console… Overlord II for the XBox 360. Too many god-awful puzzles. Spider mounts…. *shudder*

Not games you hate, but ones that are two or three steps down on the negativity meter.
For example, Mirror’s Edge is supposed to be a good game, right? Well, maybe it’s because I have the PS3 version, or maybe I’m just a terrible player. But I think the real reason I keep dying is because,
A) Faith is mildly retarded, only jumping half the times I press the button and forgetting to grab the blasted pole that’s right in front of her, and
B) The game changes its rules on you constantly. Seriously, sometimes falling from a story up gets you no damage, other times it kills you without question. When the designated pathway requires it, you can leap higher than in any other points of the game and grab onto ledges that, from experience, you know not to even try. At one specific point, you have a set of three red pipes and have to leap from one to another to reach a certain ledge. Well, it’s pretty simple to leap from the first to the second by looking at it and hitting the jump button. Try the same thing with the third pipe and Faith just lets go, clips through the third pipe on the way down, and dies horribly. You actually have to jump away from the third pipe at a 45 degree angle, then quickly turn and look directly at it to grab on.
Then there’s the counter-intuitive controls and the damned 180 turn button that screws you over constantly.
My theory is that Mirror’s Edge was originally supposed to be about a bunch of gang members running from the police, but then the head of the development team went to Singapore and got arrested for chewing a piece of gum in public. He got back to the U.S. short several hundred dollars and said, “Screw the old idea, guys. Let’s show Singapore what happens when you mess with Americans.” So they came up with a story about an ultra clean but repressive society, potentially suicidal rooftop couriers, the concept that a city made up of cubes and rectangles has a “flow,” and purposely tweaked the game to punish the player.
Mock conspiracy theories and game issues aside, I don’t actually hate Mirror’s Edge. The graphics are beautiful, the concept is rather innovative, and the game attempts to be as immersive as possible. It tries really hard to be great, and I respect that. I just don’t think it quite measured up to its potential.
Well, that was…long. Uh, yeah, I’m done for now. Anyone else?
