Oh my god, I remembered the “Little bit of Michael” but I never realised you drew more O____O I am very excite!!!!
The comic is really awesome ;______; Lucy is a crazy rebel deciding not to look adorable in a skirt.
(old series had them wear uniforms for a semester because Katie was voted in to be class president and she decreed slutty uniforms. MAYBE YOUR COMIC IS MORE CANON THAN YOU THINK)
squee the nerf gun one ;.;

Tee hee, dart tag ^_^
That’s got to be my favourite. The conceptual sketches are neat, too.

I added ya. Since you are indeed awesome at drawing. ![]()

These are actually some of the best draw fanart pics I’ve seen so far.

hahaha thanks for that first pic It was the shit

I can’t think of a funny way to say it, so I’ll just be brutally blunt.
THESE ARE TOTALLY FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Comment ID #23671
Seriously? This stuff is actually decent?
Well…alright then. I guess I’ll go put some other fan”art” together, if you guys really think it’s worth it.
Though to tell the truth, I’d rather be doing so with my Photoshop Elements software. You know, do something more than just inking with marker. Trouble is that I don’t really know how to use the blasted thing. I’ve managed to add color and a very, very little bit of shading to one drawing, but I don’t think I used the most efficient (or effective) process. If anyone has any tips, anything at all, that would be fantastic, and I would be deeply grateful.
Erm…also, I’m going to work on not giving the characters any more giraffe necks. It’s very distracting and looks horrible.
Comment ID #23712
Well whatever floats yer boat man. But right now those look pretty awesome.
Comment ID #27506
Well, I spent some time figuring out how to use layers in Photoshop and actually managed to make something not horrendous. Actually, your mileage may vary on that.
It’s in color, though you might wish it wasn’t.

Is he going snowboarding or is he going to fight a Galactic Empire? I can’t tell.
Other than that, this is a pretty good Paulo (you already pointed out any other criticism I might have had in your description, good self-critiquing).

@ *Ninja CRITIC
His outfit is just something that I’m playing around with in my head right now. If anything comes of it, everything will be explained therein. If I never get around to it…I’ll probably spill anyway.
Seriousness aside, who says Paulo couldn’t be doing both?
…Should I draw that?
EDIT: Come to think of it…he could just be playing paintball…without any sense of camouflage whatsoever. Maybe it could tie into the nerf gun pic?
Comment ID #28674
If you do the Nerf gun tie-in, you should give him one of the big Gatling Gun/revolver style ones instead of just a pistol. It would look awesome.
But, as always, it’s your art and you should make the final decision. I’m sure I will be happy with (almost) anything you do.
Comment ID #38395
Well, I finally did it. I gave into my urge to do a fancomic. Abandon all hope ye who enter here.
‘Course, the only thing I’ve gotten done so far is the sad little cover page. Pretentious, isn’t it?
Comment ID #38396
Nice!
I like how only Michael S is the only thing not blacked out on the document.

As always, awesome.
Back to my hidey-hole where I might or might not draw porn.

I was heading off to see the Prince of Persia movie just after I posted the cover, so there wasn’t much time to say anything. I’ll try to remedy that below.
@ Ved of Flames: I’d like to say that blanking thing has some connection with the actual story. It’ll probably have to be tied in at some point, somehow. But the most I can say for it right now is that it’s an artistic representation of my lack of information/ignorance…or, you know, a result of my laziness during when photoshopping. But you already figured that out.
Anyway, about the potential comic itself. I know what Taeshi said about the alternate universe thing, but there are just some plots that couldn’t work within the framework of the canon BCBverse. This is one of them. I mean, Taeshi never said we couldn’t do AU stuff, right? So here we are.
I won’t say too much: The characters are all from the cast of BCB itself (though I’m not sure if I can legitimately use ascended fancharacters like Tess or Kizuna). The world seems pretty similar on the surface, but a part of its basic nature is substantially different; that plays a significant, if not the central, role in the story.

I couldn’t decide whether this belonged in a NSFW thread or the Sweet category, so I’ll hedge my bets by putting it here for now.
Oh So Shippable…I guess.
This was supposed to be Daisy on her wedding night, but the rest has been left intentionally ambiguous.

Another sketch. Posted on the forum, for once. Hope this works.

EDIT: It’s supposed to be Mike, despite the fact that it looks nothing like him. My brother suggested just having him be a different character, named Kendell. I have no idea if I even spelled that right.

It’s certainly unique.
And the clothing looks nice!

@ Ved of Flames:
The outfit was sort of compulsive on my part. See, I picked up this book on how to sketch props for use in manga, how to have the characters properly handle them, etc. There was a ton of different things in there, and one of them was a short section on butlers. I saw the morning coat uniform and was all, “That looks so awesome and I don’t know why.” So I drew this up.
Then again, I was thinking about combat butlers at the time. I was tempted to draw the guy holding a shotgun….
Comment ID #43347
I haven’t seen the cover page and the other drawings before and I really love them! The Mike butler one is quite ace as well, he looks pretty bored with himself ;___;
I really love the cover page of the fancomic and it has left me immensely intrigued!
oho Daisyyy~
Comment ID #43648
It’s always nice to hear that the stuff I do can appeal to people, especially so when it comes from the BCB’s creator herself. I’m just happy to not be pumping out total garbage.
The Mike butler does look pretty unenthusiastic, doesn’t he? Funny thing is that I was going for “generally annoyed,” so clearly I need more practice with expressions. Like, a ton more.
About the comic thing: you know when you have one idea going in your head, and then another comes along, you start thinking about it against your better judgment, then you develop the new idea into something you consider equal with the first? I do this constantly, which is the main reason I have never produced a completed fanfic, even after trying, like, thirty-something times.
So now I’m arguing with myself over whether to keep on track with the first concept, or switch to the second, or try to do both and adjust my focus according to my mood.
What should I do?
Comment ID #43661
Adjust.
I suggest writting down everything first though. That way, you have a set plan that you can tweak in certain directions.
That’s what I’m doing now with “Meet the Boss”. I realized that something I wrote doesn’t really work if drawn, so I redid that small segment so that way it translates better.
Comment ID #43670
That is an excellent suggestion. And, indeed, for the first idea I’ve written out key background information (you know, the stuff I need to constantly keep in mind if I want a reasonably logical plotline) and where I’ll be taking said plot up to a certain point (though perhaps I’m giving myself too much wiggle room)….
Problem is, the second idea can’t ever fit within any simple adjustment (at least, not while keeping the plot coherent). The two ideas occur in two widely varying universes. They’re mutually exclusive by nature. If I tried incorporating the two, it would kind of be like trying to argue that the Spiderman movies and, say, Final Fantasy VII were both going on at the same time, on the same planet. I could try to shoehorn the storylines all that I wanted, but at the end of the day I’d have nothing but a reject fanfiction plot.
Still, the advice is good. I’ll keep it in mind.
Comment ID #43680
Well, if that’s the case, I’d suggest either scrapping one in favor of the other, or re-writing one of them completely so both can fit within the same “universe”, if you will.
You can always do one for the heck of it also. Heck, that’s what “Meet the Boss” is. It is all just one big joke. It has no effect on the other things that I am working on whatsoever. In fact, the character I made just for that comic, I don’t expect you to ever see him ever again.
Comment ID #43683
I think it’s also nice to have some writers to proofread some of the key plots to looks for things like plotholes.
Much like in Taeshi’s case, she has SuitCase to look over her work incase she needs tweaking.
As for comic setups I like the advice I got sometime back:
Sketch the comic in a notebook page. (divided into 6 panels or 8 panels)
Helps with panel placing/adding and character positions.
Comment ID #43707
@ Gabriel Kaxbe: If push came to shove, I could probably integrate like you suggested. It probably wouldn’t be as much fun that way, but it is conceivable. And, as a last resort, you’re right, I could start scrapping.
I’m just afraid of dividing my effort too much and ending up all unmotivated. Then again, I suppose I could just put one on the back burner like you said. Work on it for kicks. Just have to figure out which one.
@ Ved of Flames: I could definitely use a proofreader. It’s just the smart thing to do, right? However, the only person on hand who has an interest in this stuff is my younger brother. He’s pretty good at pointing out potholes and such, but I’m not so sure about other things, like flow, characterization, and dialog. Frankly, I’m too self conscious to approach anyone else I know about it.
The notebook page idea sounds pretty solid. I’ll give it a go. Certainly better than blowing my sketchpad on prototypes.
Comment ID #51810
So, uh, yeah…. I tried something and it…didn’t really work out. At all.
Also, I’ve determined that I should really avoid inking stuff. Unfortunately, my sketches suck just as much, so this is a problem.

Those freaking cuffs. Why did I try that? The only reason the ears aren’t colored in black is because I didn’t want to screw this up any more that it already is.
Head back to the forum index.
