While I was drawing it, I kept thinking that I was making Lucy look too much like Abbey. But I guess I fixed that problem enough so that you don’t notice…

If you draw Lucy and she doesn’t look like a effeminate homo then she doesn’t look like Abbey.

But she does look effeminate…

I guess I shouldn’t worry so much.

Try thinking of two things that are like two sides of the same coin. That’s why my current favorite is Tom and Fred, these two philosophers had different opinions but are related by both being philosophers. I was trying to find something in Latin that would pass for a couple of names, but would translate to “wit and wisdom.” All that yielded was Sal and Lepos, which I don’t really like.

Somebody think of something!

Benny and Jean-Claude.
Vinny and Hibiki.
Mack and Marcus.

It’s a start. I like the last pair the best.

Too close to home. I’ve used both of those as pseudonyms within the past three years.

Cicero and Cinna? Too Latin-y? Probably.

Asimov and Newton? They’re both Isaacs.

Crash and Verne? Too punny? Definitely.

Something that suggests logic, criticism, and other McCain-like tendencies, with a sense of humor and a perchance for parodies and bad puns thrown in. Or at least a few of these.

Cicero has potential, because it opens him up to the nickname “Sissy.” I’d hold on to that one.

So should I go with more Latin names, or do you have a counterpart that comes from a more modern background?

And you might want to stop Super-Happy before he brutally murders someone.

Latin names are too pretentious until you can make fun of them. Hence my approval of Cicero / Sissy. What I’m going to do in the meantime is meditate on pretentious but silly-sounding hipster names instead. Or you could always go with an Ebonics stereotype throwback. Fashiqua, Shanaynay, etc.

Still, put some thought into hipster names and you’ll see what I mean. Slightly off-kilter spelling, possibly charged politically in some mild and futile way, the kind of person you see wearing a beret ordering a soy no-foam latte.

Oh, to be slightly serious for a moment, Locke and Kant would be quite fitting. Perhaps Descártes and Kant.

I like Locke, Descartes is too long for a frog’s attention span, Kant is intriguing. I’ll think about that one.

Kant opens up the possibilities for puns. Isn’t there someone around here that likes puns? Surely you can think of someone who enjoys puns.

Oh, there’s the three of us, of course. Though I kant really think of any good puns at the moment…
