I’ll see what I can do about more, but improving? *Nervous Laugh*….I’ll do my best, for what it’s worth.

I like those frogs. I keep expecting them to do commentary on something like BCB or some other webcomic. xD
Comment ID #26034
hmm… not a bad idea…
do you have any ideas on what to name the frogs though?
Comment ID #26040
Lemme think about it. I’ll throw out an idea when inspiration hits me.
Comment ID #26149
HA! Despite all the dangers and distractions I’ve had to face, I finally got another work of fan-art finished!!!
Enjoy!
Comment ID #26205
That’s neat. What’s he sitting on and looking at? It looks kind of like the view I’ve seen some people draw of The Great Wall.
Comment ID #26217
Top of some building. Looking out on the countryside beyond the city, a place he’s never been.
Comment ID #26223
Huh. Well, take him there then. Show us what’s there.
What kind of building is it? Tenement or just some office building? Hell, I’ve got questions, don’t I?
Comment ID #26231
Probably an old factory that was built on the edge of town because of lower taxes, subsequently failed, and might have been converted into cheap apartments, but nobody really cares. It’s just one of those forgotten places you sometimes stumble upon.
And no. Zeke’s element is the city. He knows it like the back of his hand. His life, his school, his work, maybe even his love are all in the city. Taking him to the country would be like taking Lucy to Hawaii. He’s not rich either, so there’s the question of cost…
Comment ID #26243
Unless he’s got some obligation, and since he can see it from where he’s sitting, he could just take a walk. Dip a toe in, so to speak. I mean, I don’t know anything about his character but if it’s beyond his comfort zone it’d be interesting to see him out of it once in awhile.
And I love those kind of places. There’s this abandoned bunker outside of San Francisco I got to explore once at twelve and again at sixteen. Dirty as Hell but kind of beautiful in its own way. I guess I just get that about his character. Plus, I’ve lived in those cheap apartments before. Smelled like pot all the time. So, again, there’s elements there I’d like to see. Reminds me of home, kind of.
Comment ID #26252
He’s taking five. He’s got plenty to do, so to speak, so he really doesn’t have time to go randomly wandering off into the distance. Besides, it would take an awfully long time to reach those mountains…
Maybe I should post some sort of bio here?
Comment ID #26255
Crazy idea that I’m just going to throw out here: why not draw his bio? Draw him in his element, what he does, where he goes. Just a handful a pics that you think show who he is. I think you could say a lot without actually telling us anything about him. It’d preserve some kind of mystique, if you will.
Hell, I don’t know. It is kind of a weird idea.
Comment ID #26258
I like it! I’ll call it “my world”
Comment ID #26266
Damn straight. At the least, it’s ambitious. And, you know, I think you can do it. It’ll be neat to see what you show us.
Comment ID #26272
hmm…. this could take a while….
Comment ID #27244
Ah! I think you will like this little Frog comic I’ve just cooked up!

Comment ID #28414
Sheesh! I wouldn’t think this would drop off the recent thread list so quickly!
Comment ID #28898
Is anybody still reading this?
Comment ID #28904
Yeah, I meant to comment last night but I could not. I’ll get back to this in the morning, I should be cool by then.
Comment ID #28906
But you did read the last one, right?
Comment ID #28910
Yeah I did, that’s why I’m still trying to get around to commenting on it.
Comment ID #29043
“Furcoat.” That was the best terrible pun ever. xD
Comment ID #29755
I thought it was bad enough to deserve punishment, and Lucy agreed with me. That doesn’t keep it from being funny though
Comment ID #29758
I thought it was funny. ;D
You could do a comic abusing Lucy’s Ayubeam powers. Make her flip hamburgers and swat flies or shit like that. Yay or nay?
Comment ID #29762
I was thinking that once I get enough practice to draw some decent Zeke comics, his first meeting with Lucy will end with him fleeing for his life as she chases him while firing her Ayu Beam. But until then, that might be a good idea.
Comment ID #29765
Heh. It’d be like Cyclops on PCP. I look forward to that scenario.
Yeah, I figure there’s no harm in throwing ideas at you. If you don’t like ‘em, you can just cut them in half six feet before they reach you anyway.
Comment ID #29767
Or just send them flying back towards your face with a well-placed strike. You might just have to eat those words.
Comment ID #29774
HAH. I see what you did there. Unless you send it back with a precision strike into my eye sockets, then I can’t very well see what you did anywhere.
Comment ID #30654
Is it just me or does this thread sink like a rock?
Comment ID #30674
I comment, but I feel bad about commenting twice in a row unless it’s in the RC thread.
Because I can get away with pretty much any shit I want in there.
Comment ID #30676
But it doesn’t explain why everyone else seems to ignore this thread. Am I some sort of pariah on this forum?
Comment ID #30679
No, fan-art threads just sink, it seems to me, unless the artist gets a lot of attention through Taesh attention or something. Know what I mean?
Comment ID #30683
That’s not what I’m worried about. It’s that the only people who’ve posted here are you, me, and Ved.
Comment ID #30687
Iunno. Maybe they’re scared? =/
Comment ID #30692
Why?
Comment ID #30695
Because you are a Ninja? Honestly, I don’t know. I was taking a shot in the dark, but I wouldn’t take it personally either way. I’ve done stuff on here too and received maybe one or two comments at most about it.
Comment ID #30700
Really? Where?
Comment ID #30709
I drew LucyxPaulo porn in one of the porn threads (I think the second one) and I wrote a song for the lyrics thread last night. Which was actually about something a lot more personal than the comic.
Comment ID #30719
…uh…right…
Comment ID #30721
Okay, I think I’ve figured it out. Try drawing characters that appear in the comic doing insanely awesome or absurd stuff and you’ll succeed as a fan-art thread. That’s my advice.
And for the record, that porn was just me trying to get a free ticket to make inappropriate comments throughout the rest of the thread. It worked, by the way.
Comment ID #30726
So… more bit parts for Lucy?
Comment ID #30731
More major parts on Lucy. Spend some time on her and Mike and Paulo and the gang. There’s a lot of hostility toward art around here where fan characters outnumber the main cast. By focusing on them, you can ease into your own characters. Just kind of slip them in after you’ve exercised the possibilities with the main cast a little bit, you dig?
Comment ID #30739
I have two frogs, myself, and Zeke. I haven’t even begun to introduce Zeke, and he’s the only proper fan character I intend to create. I’d love to do something involving him and the main cast, but my skill isn’t up to that yet. And as you saw, my Lucy impression is so rough that the only place it would fit is in my poorly-drawn Comic 101 strips. So I’m in a bit of a jam on that front…
Comment ID #30742
You still draw better than I do. Besides I find the frogs to moderatly entertaining
Comment ID #30744
I’ve seen worse. Plus, you’re funny enough on your own that you could pull it off so long as you get ambitious about whatever it is you do. Anybody can draw a Lucy, not everybody could draw, say, David riding the atomic bomb and waving a cowboy hat like Slim Pickins at the end of Dr. Strangelove. See what I mean? I’m just saying don’t hold yourself back.
Comment ID #30746
…I couldn’t draw Lucy to save my life!
Comment ID #30752
*Sniff* Thank you guys!
Comment ID #31188
And now I have another Frog comic for you guys.
Sorry it took so long…

*Hidden deep amid the woods in a gentle valley, there stands an imposing brick structure. Of all the many buildings considered “on campus” (used loosely), this one is the Ninja’s favorite. Here he is finally able to sit and work in silence and solitude, uninterrupted by his missions and free his sensei’s assignments. He has spent many hours in an upper room of this building, honing the few skills in which he still lacks proficiency; his artistic skills.*
Following in the glorious tradition of self-promotion, I am going to post links to my “art” (used loosely) here. Most of it is non-BCB related, but I’m working to correct that… Just give me some time and a few comments on how I’m doing so far.
First, the Physics and the Frogs:
Part, the First
Part, the Second
Part, the Third
Part, the Fourth
Part, the Fifth
Next, the actual fan-art:
Free Fall
Zeke
That’s all I’ve got that’s worth looking at so far.
