Need your help! (BCB keychains)

Comment ID #27751

This is for the sake of me knowing..

But what are the top eight characters you wanna see in keychain mode?

There was a choice to do four characters (Which would be no doubt Lucy, Mike, Daisy, and Paulo) or a choice of eight.

I decided to go the eight-route, so I’m wondering if you had the choice, who would you want?

JUST DOING A POLL BECAUSE I HAVE SIX DRAWN.. but the last two are confusing to me. I don’t know who will make the cut!

McCain, of course.

Who wouldn’t want Captain Obvious on a keychain?

Jeff in Aus May 26, 2010, 12:58 PM EST.

Comment ID #27755

I should probably stress out that no, there can’t be fancharacters.

Meaning no Tess, no McCain, no Kizuna (she’s dead lol), no Liam, etc.

Maybe I’ll make them if there is ridiculous high demand, also I’d feel very rude because I’d want to give Rixx the money for providing me the character.

Lucy Mike Paulo Daisy are pretty obligatory.

That leaves us with four then.

David would be fitting since he is a main character. We could also have one with multiple pets in one since they don’t really warrant a keychain of their own.

Sandy perhaps?

Oh and either Abbey or Tess.

So the following eight:

Lucy
Mike
Daisy
Paulo
David
Sandy
Tess (Apparently no fancaracters so replace this with the pet idea kthx)
Abbey

(the one with Yashy Lily Chirpy and Blur all in one could replace any of the last three if you ask me)

Just my 2 cents.

Here’s my choices:

•Lucy
•Mike
•Daisy
•Paulo
•David
•Abbey
•Rachel
•Lily/Sue/Sandy/Augustus

I can’t decide with the final slot.

SkylineFaux May 26, 2010, 1:07 PM EST.

Comment ID #27759

Yeah, I’d go with Mike, Lucy, Paulo, David, Abbey, Daisy, Sandy, and Yashy/Sue.

Spradic Zoom May 26, 2010, 1:14 PM EST.

Comment ID #27760

Hmmmm
Lucy, Mike, Daisy, Paulo, David, Abbey of course! Must be done.

As for the others… I think Sue’s become a bigger character and you might like an Augustus one cause people would be all,
“man that guy is cool looking I wonder who he is *reads comic* oh man I hate that guy, I’m going to buy his keychain to remind me how much I hate him and also how much I love sephiroth man I love sephiroth. sephiroth sephiroth seph…”

yep.

Ace May 26, 2010, 1:15 PM EST.

Comment ID #27761

Oh, McCain is a fan-character? I knew Tess and Kizuna were, but… hm.

Abbey’s a given, David’s a given…. maybe Sandy and Sue should take the last two spots? Since Sue’s climbing up there in screentime and Sandy’s a big plot point.

Or just freak everyone out and switch one of them out for Final Fantasy Cat.

@Ace
Exactly what I was thinking about Augustus. Amidst all the protagonists, there should be an antagonist in the mix :P

Augustus for sure..

dont mind my name.

Why did she take so long to come up? ^_^

I basically agree with Gabriel, except possibly Amaya (I’m terribly sorry to say so) could be replaced by Sandy.

I’d say

Lucy
Mike
Daisy
Paulo
Sue
Abbey
Sandy
And, while David’s an obvious choice, Rachel

Two reasons: 1) She’s really cute and 2) I’d love to see an invoice that proves you’re “shipping Rachel and Paulo”. :P

Ghost Kizuna >:o

Jk,

Lucy
Mike
Daisy
Paulo
Sue
Rachel
Sandy
and David

Just placed an order for a hundred of these. Roughly 12x each of 8 designs.

They’re going to be 1.5” tall, roughly. I already have the little coloured straps to attach them onto. You can put these on a keychain, attach to your phone (if you’re Asian) or simply keep them somewhere as I do a lot of animu stuff.

Just to see how you all feel about pricing (all in USD)

Postage for these is $2 anywhere in the world, and 50c within Australia. Of course, if you were to buy a hypothetical book, they would add nothing to the postage.

Pricing per keychain could be $5 each, or $15 for a set of four. This is going by Cute-Plush’s pricing for similar items (this is a site that sells stuff made by the same company we’re using.)

Is that reasonable? I couldn’t really make the $15 price lower, but if you balk at $5 we could maybe sell them individually for $4. See above for a comparison of the sample charm we got with a credit card—note that this is a slightly larger charm that is about 2” tall, and the ones we will order are slightly smaller (the feet of the character will go to the bottom of the girl’s dress.)

SuitCase May 27, 2010, 9:49 AM EST.

Comment ID #28929

I thought one way to even out the pricing is to add a free doodle with every order. So in a way you’re paying for a charm but also a little sketch-doodle of your choice <=D?

Comment ID #28930

I want a Jessica keychain. ;_;

Comment ID #28931

the sketch offer would get overwhelming real fast.

Ved of Flames May 27, 2010, 10:27 AM EST.

Comment ID #28932

I can pump out doodles pretty freaken easy as long as people request easy things. The 36-page liam comic took like.. a day or so to do for example.

And I’ll try not to take it too seriously :-[ But still not pump out total shit.

Taeshi May 27, 2010, 10:29 AM EST.

Comment ID #28933

Yeah, I don’t know if “throw in a sketch for free” is all that great an idea. It kind of nullifies the point of charging anything extra for an “artist edition” of the book, which is probably the only way the book will make any significant amount of money.

SORRY TO BE A CAPITALIST BUT YOU KNOW

SuitCase May 27, 2010, 10:30 AM EST.

Comment ID #28934

oh ok

WELL I DON’T KNOW :(

Taeshi May 27, 2010, 10:30 AM EST.

Comment ID #28936

Just take the extra money, you deserve it.

Ved of Flames May 27, 2010, 10:35 AM EST.

Comment ID #28938

I think that the sketches, while a nice idea, are probably an unwise bonus gift. If, as you’re saying, they’re unique, then you’re basically giving out request drawings for free. Even if they’re rough, I think you should be charging for original artwork.

Incidentally, what makes the “artist edition” book different? More sketches?

Blue scarf and striped scarf Mike variants.
Diabetic-shock-sweet Daisy.
“Pie’n’Cheeeeese” and simply happy David variants.

Shit, the more variants you come up with the better, but I’m not sure there’s all the much to work with.

They’re all done! They’re kind of traditional. But hey.

You should see the buttons Veronica just made. There’s some really wonderful stuff on the way.

Comment ID #29462

So…when you going to show ‘em?

I’m probably going to buy at least one button one way or another.

will there be a option to get one of everything ???

Senator Splash May 27, 2010, 8:03 PM EST.

I guess. For $30. Two sets of four.

SuitCase May 27, 2010, 10:16 PM EST.

Comment ID #29566

For the record, you don’t owe me anything if you make a McCain keychain. XD I’d be happy for you guys to profit off your comic!

Unless you wanna give me one for free.

(Oh! They’re done. Nevermind! Better read all the way through before replying to first or second post.)

The key-chains will be neat but I’m looking forward to seeing the buttons. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a blue-scarf Mike.

If you like Mike, you’ll like the buttons. There are four of them and we’re ordering 100 of each design.
