I just…I can’t ignore this one. Penalties so far:
- lack of BCB characters in a BCB fanfic
- nowhere near enough original dialogue
- impending use of Simple Plan lyrics
You have time, boy! You can fix this!

————————————————————SCENE TWO————————————————————-
(The curtain opens to show Ren, Will, and Ozzy leaning on a wall after school.)
Ren-I can’t believe Mr. Whirley.
Will-To be fair, you did throw an eraser at his eye.
Ren-Whatever. I’m sick of it.
Ozzy-That’s the cafeteria food.
Ren-I’m serious. Longview is just so…boring. It’s sickening. Like somebody wanted to make an awesome town but got bored halfway through. I want to go to the city.
Will-Why the city?
Ren-It’s exciting.The lights, the tall buildings…
Ozzy-So let’s do it.
Will-Do what?
Ozzy-Leave. Go to the city. My mom’s sending me to my dad’s apartment in the city anyway; I’ll get him to take you guys in too. He’s pretty nice.
Ren-I doubt my parents would go for that.
Ozzy-I’ll convince ‘em, don’t worry.
(Later, Ozzy has convinced Ren’s parents to let him come. He couldn’t, however, convince Will’s.)
Will-I’m gonna miss you guys.
Ren-Same here, dude.
Ozzy-We’ll see you around.
(They all hug. Ren and Ozzy get on the bus. Hours later they reach the apartment. After unpacking, they take a walk. Ren bumps into Lucy.)
Lucy and Ren (at the same time)- Watch where you’re going. Shut up. Hey!
(They turn around, and walk in different directions.)

why
do
people
say they are writing a fanfic
when it totally is not a fanfic
just an insertion of your characters that might as well be an original story
oh my god lord jesus christ
i think i did this to myself

I’m sorry that we are all selfish egotistical fans…
Comment ID #29692
Um…sorry? Should I not finish it? Didn’t want to upset you.

Keej, a lot of fanfickers have made the mistake of overpopulating their fanfic with their own characters.
And that’s not necessarily a bad thing, bud, I’m just saying I’d limit the insertion of fan characters and, even then, save it for after you’ve spent a little more time with the main characters of the comic. Otherwise, it’s more an original work with cameos.
Sorry, I’m tryin’ to be as light about this as I can, but I think that’s the main beef. I was tryin’ to warn you earlier in my own retarded way.

I don’t think it’s problematic, but you should post it in the context of “I like writing fiction, and this is a story of mine, could you take a look?” rather than “MY FURRY LIFE: A BCB FANFIC”.
You’ll get less attention, but at least you’re not being misleading!

Souppy is the Winston Churchill to my George W. Bush.
(He’s more eloquent than me.)

fffff why cant green day go back to being green day and not this “were pretending to be deep and know something about politics” bullshit
Comment ID #29734
Because they’re getting old and it’s the only way they can think of to try and make a difference in the world. Seriously, they’re at least forty now.
Comment ID #29739
yeah i dont mind maturing a little
but can we please not have any more political rock operas
Comment ID #29744
american idiot is the most insipid and aggravating song i’ve ever heard
Comment ID #29747
You know what I think happened? I think eight years of Bush took its toll on them. I think they’re still furious about everything that’s going on and it’s changed their music.
I never listen to the song “American Idiot” itself but the ending song on that album is beautiful. I just like the sentiment and the melody.

@Suitcase: So how do you feel about Weird Al’s parody version then? Eh?
Comment ID #29757
You DID do this you yourself, Taeshi. You pamper your favorite little children, and now all the re-headed bastard step-children are coming out of the woodwork, scrabbling for your affections.
God help you if you ever decide to adopt a black, African child.

the two 9 minute tracks on that record were pretty nice but overall its just not that good a record/ their newest one is just trash/ i wish to god they lost the eyeliner aaa
i yearn for the days of 90s green day

I got my copy of that album from a girl I was going to marry but left me for another guy (who she did marry after getting pregnant) when she left for college. So a lot of the songs hit a unique chord for me, and especially “Whatsername” because while I might as well forget her, I had some damn good times back then.
And 21st Century Breakdown sucked, but the extended album had a copy of their cover of The Who’s “A Quick One (While He’s Away),” which is one of those rare covers that’s better than the original. That song alone made buying it worthwhile for me (especially since it too is about nine minutes long).
But yeah. You’re forty years old and wearing eyeliner. Who the Hell are you fooling, Green Day? They need to spend more time in Oakland and remember what a Green Day really is. That’s where the original spirit of the band came from in the first place.

word dude
if the descendents can be aging and still play silly pop-punk why cant green day
in fact descendents have been doing it an extra 10 years or so
also i am going to look up that cover now
edit: i forgot one of the members of the descendents died in like ‘08/ i am probably the only one that knows them anyway ackkk
Comment ID #29786
They took an otherwise mediocre song by an awesome band during its weak period and turned it into a snotty punk epic. Take the “stop your cryin’!” part, for example. In the original version it was meant to be comforting, but Green Day took it to mean “shut the Hell up.”
Melvins don’t seem too have changed much since the early nineties as far as attitude goes. I’ll look up The Descendants though. They an indie band?

I don’t wanna discourage people telling an original story, that’s not the problem.
But if it’s a story about your characters then it is not a fanfic. That is alright with me, but it grates me to be all “oh hey a fanfic let me read
DDD oh wait it only features Manic the super canine and his pal squad this has nothing to do with BCB :|”
people need to not be scared and share whatever they want with us, even if it’s not related to the comic, they just need to stop freaken lying that it’s a fanfic
Comment ID #30056
It actually does heavily involve the BCB characters after the first two scenes, I just like to take a while to introduce any characters I use. There was a whole David and Paulo scene I had already written. I think its, like, scene 6.

Dude! They sound like pre-Reprise Records Green Day and Operation Ivy! ![]()
Goin’ on my list. Hells yeah.
Comment ID #30284
yeah pretty much all of the bands on lookout (op ivy/ green day/ mr. t experience) owe a massive amount to the descendents/ you should def download milo goes to college
but then again the descendents owe everything to the buzzcocks but yea
Head back to the forum index.

This is a fanfic/musical. It’s based off of a comic I draw sometimes called Longview and BCB, hence the weird name. It’s written as a script for a play or movie. My characters Ren, Will, Ozzy, Maria, and Jimmy appear in it. It features songs written by Green Day, Simple Plan, and maybe some others.
———————————————-SCENE ONE————————————————-
(The curtain opens and reveals Ren, Will, and Ozzy sitting on a couch watching TV.)
Ren-I can’t believe that the world is reduced to liking this crap.
Ozzy-Yeah, but it’s the world we live in.
Will-I agree, dude. I don’t wanna be like all the idiots in America.
(Ren turns to the audience and begins to sing.)
Ren-Don’t wanna be an American Idiot! Don’t want a nation under the new media!
Will-And can you hear the sound of hysteria?! The subliminal mind F*CK AMERICA!
All three- Welcome to a new kind of tension, all across the alien nation, where everything isn’t meant to be okay! Teelevision dreams of tomorrow, we’re not the ones who’re meant to follow, for that’s enough to argue!
Ozzy-Well maybe I’m the f*ggot America! I’m not part of a redneck agenda!
Ren-Now everybody do the propoganda, and sing along in the age of paranoia!
All three- Welcome to a new kind of tension, all across the alien nation, where everything isn’t meant to be okay! Teelevision dreams of tomorrow, we’re not the ones who’re meant to follow, for that’s enough to argue!
Will-Don’t wanna be an American Idiot, one nation controlled by the media. Information age of hysteria-
Ozzy-It’s calling out to IDIOT AMERICA!
All three- Welcome to a new kind of tension, all across the alien nation, where everything isn’t meant to be okay! Teelevision dreams of tomorrow, we’re not the ones who’re meant to follow, for that’s enough to argue!
(The song ends.)
Will-So now that we’ve established that the nation sucks, what do we do about it?
(They all shrug and leave for school.)

The next scene will be posted later.
