Yes, I really do wish Paulo will realise what a mistake he’s doing and go back to his, uh, old friends and ways. But if there’s going to be an alternative to that, I would much prefer it to be Paulo and Rachel as a couple. Still, my major hope is for him to STOP DOING THAT and get back to being the, well, the Paulo of the group.

I can see the sense in that. Tess said over and over “there’s too much of a difference” and “it’d never work out” and now that he’s suddenly moved on she gets to blame him for it? Screw that. She can’t say that they can never have a relationship one minute and then let him have his way with her the next (even if he couldn’t actually do it).

No more mixed signals, Tessa. If you want the boy, quit making age an issue and fuckin’ take him.

This is the irony of relationships like this - they tell you that they aren’t yours, but you are definitely -theirs-. Though to be fair, they are yours as well… just… in a very inconvenient and not so great way. Though had Paulo actually had sex with Tess, their relationship might have moved out of limbo - or maybe it would not have made a difference. That could hurt Paulo even MORE.

Incidentally, Fiery Death Chili, I think Soupy was playing with you, given that Paulo’s last date lasted 5 pages, and that he is just starting his next one. Unless it is pretty much entirely skipped over, I can’t see that outcome as happening. Though technically he said “or so”, but still…

And honestly, I’d find it terribly depressing at this point in the story.

Well, he wasn’t messing with me specifically but he did say it. Somewhere.

But yeah. It’s Souppy we’re discussing here. He can and will mess with us regarding plot details. Taeshi too, I think. But that’s part of the reason I respect them both so much. Their collective sense of mischief.

I’m not sure if you’re saying somewhere to be coy or because you genuinely don’t remember, but I prefer to imagine the former for the sake of my own amusement.
