@Jay the first
I agree with you, it’s an evolved form of her (former) relationship with Mike. Kind of clingy, but more relaxed. Like Velcro instead of a vice-grip.
And, according to deviantArt, that someplace on earth where she is laughing at us is Australia. Well, at least that’s narrowed it down to one continent. And I’m pretty sure she isn’t in the Outback or Tasmania, so that narrows it down even further…

@ PronKat: I choose to leave it up to everyone’s vivid imagination.
That said, I have to back down from my position in the MikexLucy Cult. I just don’t see it happening anymore. But it’s not about things staying on their current course and everybody ending up with somebody anyway. Me, I just don’t want Tess hurt. Has he even seen her yet? Jeez. =_=;;

Too lazy to read through every reply so if I repeat someone way back just ignore me. Let’s see…I’ve been pretty much MikexSandy almost since Sandy was first introduced. However the whole “I love you” confession from Lucy (honestly that suprised me, I though the whole love-hate friendship, status quo thing would return for awhile) weakened that quite a bit. Futhermore I’m finding the lack of Sandy appearing in person equally annoying. Mike hasn’t seen Sandy her in how many years? She rarely answers her cell? Neither of them have figured out that the internet exsists and is a great way to stay in touch? I’d personally like to see Sandy appear in person at some point, perhaps with a suprise visit, just to see how a MikexSandy would fare without the long-distance thing.

Seriously no love for David?
Even comic relief need some loving
(and maybe some character depth)
Comment ID #6617
that was WAY too muchreading for me but i dint read it all so i dont care.

Then why comment?

@ Van: David has the Flower Girl. She…just doesn’t know it yet.

And when she does, pepper spray and a heavy dose of tasing! XD

@Pronkat
And while he’s unconscious, maybe slip one of those shock collars on him so that when he gets too close, she just pushes a button and ZAP!
Is anyone else curious about what happened between Lucy and Paulo off screen? From Paulo’s reaction to David’s statement, Lucy didn’t quite blueball him. Now, this may be my slightly prudish side talking, but I don’t like it. Not one bit.
Comment ID #6696
Even with all the sprays, tazers, shock collars, restraining orders, and Impenetrable Fortresses in the world you can’t stop David from trying to finally get a girl.
Oh yeah Erebus Paulo made that face beceause he turned down Lucy and felt embaressed to admit it to David (He’s kind of a mentor to that crazy dog)
Comment ID #6698
He admitted that he didn’t nail her. And the lack of agreeing response to David’s comment about Lucy blueballing him leads me to think they did ‘other things’
Comment ID #6718
I don’t think they did. Paulo is an honest guy, and Lucy would have killed him if they had done anything more than, uh, kiss and hug.
Paulo is embarrassed because David expects him to have done everything he can to, uh, get in Lucy’s pants. And he hasn’t; rather, he did everything he could to avoid it.
Comment ID #6720
So you’re argument is that he wasn’t agreeing because Lucy didn’t blueball him, but he blueballed himself, and is embarrassed to admit it?
Comment ID #6732
Maybe…maybe she didn’t totally blueball him? Eh?
Oooooh, he’s gonna be in trouble when Tess shows up!
Comment ID #6733
exactly. Go back to the last time he had to convince Paulo that he wasnt getting into drama. He said that he would enjoy hitting Lucy. And he got the chance, and didnt. What is he suppose to say?
Comment ID #6743
He’s supposed to say, “I’m gay for Tess now. She’s so rich we’re getting our organs switched so I can have a million of her babies.”
Comment ID #6747
Well, if they’re getting their organs switched, wouldn’t he be having a million of his babies?
Comment ID #6749
Damn you, Erebuuuus! Dx *shakes a fist*
Comment ID #6779
@Erebus
Regarding Paulo’s expression, that’s exactly the case. Paulo is loathe to admit to his pupil that he is responsible for cutting things off.
My respect for Paulo, however, is now at an all time high.
Comment ID #6782
i too have new-found respect for paulo even though i never doubted his morals. but non the less, even if he doesn’t know it, lucy is starting to like him and that jeopardizes things between mike and lucy so im afraid i really dislike paulo at the moment. i hope it won’t stay like this though cos he is a great character.
Comment ID #6789
On the subject of Tess, I am thoroughly surprised not a single person (that I have seen) has brought up that NOT ONCE DID PAULO THINK ABOUT TESS THROUGH THIS ORDEAL WITH LUCY.
You know, Tess, that girl you just about slept with, Paulo? Hmmm? The girl you went to prom with? Didn’t even cross your mind you might, I don’t know, hurt her feelings if you’d tapped dat white Lucy tail, did it? Fact that you’re practically dating someone else didn’t even factor in?
Dick move, man…dick move.
Clearly this chapter is rapidly moving toward a confrontation between Tess and Paulo over Lucy….and the fact Paulo was thinking about Daisy while making out with Tess….
Comment ID #6796
@ Quacksalver: Where is Tess anyway? She’s been gone forever! Baaaaaaaaw
Comment ID #6797
good point!
who’s the cheater now!!!
Comment ID #6833
That would be hilarious if Paulo got mobbed for being a cheater. I can see it now. Mike yelling “Cheater!” and women coming out of the woodworks to hit him.
Comment ID #6837
Well, now I know what I hope to see in this chapter.
Comment ID #6857
Paulo getting mobbed by a bunch of angry girls, getting pulled by Tess from the turmoil, and then bitch slapped and mobbed again?
Comment ID #6868
You put it much better than my fantasizing did.
Comment ID #6889
well, he isn’t actually in a relationship with Tess. Second off, he probably was thinking about that. I would hope that not all his thoughts were shown in the comic, else he only thought maybe a dozen or so lines
Comment ID #6905
Woah seems like people are jumping to conclusions here, Paulo hasnt been a cheater at all. Lucy does seem to have a crush on him at the moment but in all honesty, is that something people should be feeling bitter towards him for? He acted supportive when she needed it the most so it makes since that she would would develop a crush on him, but Paulo even said in the last page that they aren’t a couple and if you recall, it was Paulo that kept Lucy off him in the night they spent together. So instead of jumping to the ‘OMG! Paulo is a Cheater for being with Lucy!’ think about the fact that he does seem to be pressing more towards being friends then an actual relationship, and as far as Tess goes, shes told him already that she isnt ready for a relationship so if she ends up losing Paulo because of it, well she honestly has no one to blame but herself.
Comment ID #6907
I said practically dating, and really, that’s beside the point. I think we can both agree that they’ve progressed to the point that if Paulo showed up with another lady on his arm, Tess would be less than thrilled, yes?
And no, I’m sure not all Paulo’s inner thoughts were expressed; that would have ruing the pace and ambiance of the story. It seems to me, though, that when it came down to the moment of Paulo tapping, or not tapping, dat ass, any consideration for Tess’ feelings were conspicuously absent. He certainly had the clarity to think about Lucy’s feelings.
Don’t get me wrong, though. I don’t hate Paulo. He’s young, and let’s face it, we might all find ourselves forgetting important stuff when faced with some ready and willing snatch and or wang (I don’t judge). However, I’m still highly disappointed in the boy. Poor Tess.
Comment ID #6916
Here’s the question. Will David let the fact be known? Paulo won’t. Lucy won’t. David is the weakest link here. It’s up to him whether or not Tess finds out in the end.
Comment ID #6933
I see what your saying Quack, and i can understand why you would feel bad for Tess, but still take into consideration that it was Tess who said she didnt want an actual relationship with him, so it doesn’t seem right that your saying hes not taking Tess feelings into account. Dont know if anyone agrees with me, but for one Tess hasnt been in a desperate emotional state in need of support unlike Lucy so he would be more focused on her feelings at the time (especially since he didn’t actually do anything unfaithful to Tess in the first place), and also it is Tess who isn’t ready for commitment, not Paulo, so even if she was ‘less then thrilled’ about it consider that she really isn’t dating him and has said this to him herself, and if we are lucky it might lead to Tess getting over her commitment issues with Paulo.
Comment ID #7058
Still, Paulo was very receptive to Lucy’s advances, and him rejecting her had more to do with not wanting to hurt Lucy, not Tess. Tess never really came into it (sorry, bad line).
I see your point very well, Senshuro, but even though Tess was the one who rejected Paulo he was still head over heels for her. It might be possible that Paulo was considering Tess off-screen (frankly, I’d be shocked if he didn’t), although that doesn’t change the fact that he did accept Lucy’s advances for a long time.
Comment ID #7453
Yes, but Paulo was in an emotional minefield at the time there. Here was Lucy, an emotional train wreck that he was trying to salvage. Then she starts to put the moves on him. What is he to do? If he rejects her, he sends her into an even darker place than she was before, convinced that she is undesirable and alone in the world, and to forever be treated as a chore to those she loves. Or he accepts them, and once Lucy has regained her senses, leaves her feeling taken advantage of and essentially raped. And somehow, he found a third route through the minefield that leaves them both unscathed. I respect Paulo for that. He found a way to win in a no win situation. The fact that Tess didn’t come up only shows how focused he was in A) Not taking advantage of Lucy and B) Trying to get her through the whole thing in one piece. You can’t think of everything.
Comment ID #7461
For a moment let’s pretend that Lucy and Paulo had come to that point of no return, but with Lucy in a fully lucid state. Would Paulo have stopped himself?
I wonder.
Comment ID #7463
Honestly just quit now Quack about that, the situation has already passed and Paulo took the high road in it at the time. Even if he wasnt thinking about Tess at the exact moment Lucy started advancing on him, he handled the situation in the best way possible that also helped knock Lucy out of her depression so even if you dont consider him perfect, no one is.
Comment ID #7477
Whoa thar, settle down. Just having a discussion. Like I said, I don’t not like Paulo now or anything. It’s just that that was one of the things I’d noticed in the last chapter, and as those events seem to be leading to something in this current chapter, that they might be pertinent. I noticed no one else had brought it up already (that I’ve seen), and I thought this would be the place to bring it up.
Comment ID #7504
I’ll play along Quack. Assuming Lucy was lucid, and still made advances toward Paulo, I don’t think anything would happen. At least not right away. Paulo would still be cautious just because Lucy has made it clear on several occasions in the past that she does NOT like Paulo in that manner. He would be suspicious first, then he would have to consider Tess.
Tess IS still in his mind, and I believe he is serious about keeping their relationship working during the two years (Junior and Senior) that they will be separated from each other. There would be serious discussion between Paulo and Lucy before anything else happened.
From there i see two possibilities. Either Lucy backs down, accepting that Paulo cares about her, but has his own commitments. Or Paulo accepts her advances on a “casual” level, effectively making them f*ck buddies. I’d imagine, and would seriously hope, that the first possibility is the actual one.
Comment ID #7505
The thing is, I think, that a lucid Lucy wouldn’t be in that situation at all.
Comment ID #7540
Not sure I can see Lucy “backing down” after the last few comics. Somethings going to have to change.
Comment ID #7704
The more I see Lucy’s reaction to Paulo, the more I find myself accepting the possibility of a LucyxPaulo relationship. But I still feel that MikeXLucy is the way to go. DAMN YOU SANDY!
I think Lucy won’t back down in terms of her new found respect for Paulo, and that’s really what it comes down to, she respects him more because of his recent behavior. But I doubt there will be any further pushing from Lucy for more intimate contact.
And again, as I have already said numerous times. Respect for Paulo skyrocketing!!!!
Comment ID #7725
I respect Paulo, but I’d still rather see him with Tess. Even if it looks like the only way he can get his freak on is with Daisy. ;D
Comment ID #7753
Lucy is beyond backing down now. But I don’t think David would say owt, unless Paulo’s new behaviour is pushing him to sees his own love issues too quickly. I want Tess to re-appear! I want some drama explosion! ![]()
Comment ID #7755
I think that it is y possible Lucy is not as into this as people assume she is. She obviously has feelings for him, but im not sure that she has much to “back down” from
Comment ID #7758
Lucy is a big old bag of crazy now. Please don’t stick it to the crazies, Paulo.
Comment ID #7770
@Pronkat
How do you figure Lucy is beyond backing down? So far all we’ve seen is a moment of weakness shortly after the incident with Mike, and a general feeling of renewed/strengthened friendship with Paulo.
The fact that Paulo himself resisted her advances, and she showed no further interest upon regaining her composure indicates that her interests go no farther than friendship.
Comment ID #7808
Could still mean she has a crush on Paulo at the current time, but that’s entirely understandable and is something that will most likely just lead to a strong friendship between them in the future anyway.
Comment ID #8026
David does bring up an interesting point though…
Comment ID #8243
@Jay The First
The fact that she isn’t trying to make sexual advances to Paulo in a public school doesn’t mean she is just friendly. From what we can see, Lucy is still heavy on him. She blushes at almost every moment, behaves in an un-Lucy manner if you may, and even smiles and laughs continuously. No, I don’t think that she’ll be in such heat as in Another Shoulder, but that doesn’t mean she’s still not trying to get him… There will be a strengthen friendship at the end of the chapter, I think. But for now, Lucy is trying to get on the rebound wagon with Paulo.
Head back to the forum index.
