I chose Pronkat as a joke. It was April’s Fools and the infamous “Hentai” section in BCB inspired the name. After that I chose to keep it. I changed it to Pronnosaurus Rex for a bit after it was suggested. But I don’t know, which one do people prefer?

Yeesh. Interesting thread. Almost surprised that it has had so many responses so soon. Almost.

So, “Who” is a truncated version of my standard handle. I do not care to share the full version, but I’m sure that if anyone had the inclination, for some reason, it would not be too hard to figure it out. This is the Internet, after all.

Anyway, the origins go back to StarCraft. When I first started playing multiplayer, I think I had some handle like “DarkForce” or something of the like. Unfortunately, I sucked, and I quickly decided that having a menacing nickname and such poor skill was kind of stupid, so I came up with something that was a bit more goofy. In my mind, it was short for “Who Is This Loser?” It is also slightly anonymous, but not very.

Aww. I had hoped it had something to do with ’70s British rock… Still, I like it. Gives me numerous associations with no relation to music.

My first favorite thing? I have not yet decided. o_o I’m not very good at picking favorites. It’s not cats, though (or dogs).

“Who” is actually short for something else, rather than an acronym, but I suppose there are many possibilities. “When Horsecrabs Orchestrate.” “Witch Hat Organization,” in which I betray my country of origin. “Wanton Habitual Originality.” Yeah, sure.

Or, for you, perhaps “Intrepid Lion Betrayer.” Not that you would ever betray lions, of course.
